I learned so much reading and listening to this book. I did not know how many toxins are in everyday household items! It gave me ideas on how to make changes to what I bring into my home to support my family's health. Loved that she gave lots of details on toxic lists and ingredients and also =gave natural solutions. This is a must-read for anyone suffering a chronic or ongoing condition. You would be surprised how much your environment affects you. I also appreciate that the author is a professional toxicologist. She includes examples of cases of people she has worked with and the results of detoxifying their homes. This is a book I will keep and refer back to frequently.

This book is like the Holy grail of non-toxic living!! So much wonderful, useful information. I started making non-toxic swaps in my home years ago and I love getting new information to help me do better for my family. It can get very overwhelming but this book lays it out for you and breaks it down by each room, making it so much easier to digest the information. The photos included are wonderful and it’s just a gorgeous book, overall.

Thank you, Storey Publishing, and Net Galley for a copy in return for my honest review!

I found this book to be pretty educational. I have already began to implement some of the things the books has suggested into my home. I can't wait to try more of the items and materials this book recommends.

While the author gives a lot of tips to help you minimize toxins in your home, unfortunately some if it is not practical for everyone. Mainly low income individuals. some of the items like vinegar and essential oils are found in stores like dollar stores, so some of it can be utilized by that group of individuals, other items like castile soap is not. same for not using plastic, which is readily available at most stores, where glass or wooden items just are not accessible for everyone. But the author does such a good job of showing people how to detox literally every area in their home.

I received a copy of the book via Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review of my own thoughts and opinions.

As I age I find that my body has become more sensitive to EVERYTHING so when i saw this book I figured I would see if it could help me figure out what to do about it.
When I opened it up I was pleasantly surprised. It has a very readable format and beautiful photos. It is organized in a way that i could understand the need for detoxing (Chapter 1), What to buy or even better make with common household ingredients in order to detox my home (Chapter 2), and then the book goes into detail on how to detox each room step by step. Each room has its own chapter so you dont have to jump around! Each room also includes a photo with a list of the top ten hazardous items in that room and the step by step directions to detox them.

I think my favorite part of the book was learning the ingredients and amounts to make your own detoxing concoctions- this allows you to know exactly what you are using and in many cases is much cheaper than store bought products.

It is amazing how many areas of our daily lives and habits this book has covered. So many things that we are surrounded by on a daily basis are so generally accepted and popularized that we don't even notice them around us anymore. We ignore how huge of an impact they can have on our everyday lives and on our health.
Although it may not be easy to completely turn our lives around overnight, this book will give you a direction and a huge number of healthy and enviromentally friendly substitutes for everything we surround ourselves with.
This is a great book to think about and move you in the direction of a positive change.

Many of us don't think about our houses being harmful to us. Home Detox gives good tips and information on how to eliminate these harmful toxins from the home.

Book just arrived.
This book's purpose is to give the reader a method to detox the house from toxins around us.
After taking screenshots more than one time at pages I decided to continue taking screenshots but to purchase the book, somehow.
I am convinced that this type of book can’t be read just one time and you are done, to find it really effective or if you sense it could be useful just take the book.
And the book has just arrived, brand new.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This was eye opening and a little bit scary / overwhelming. The book is broken down room by room. I would suggest you only read one room at a time. I did not. I read the whole thing and now I’m debating running away to live in nature.

Well organized, very thorough, and in depth while being very clear and easy to understand. Providing actionable steps at the end of each chapter is a great idea, as this amount of information can be overwhelming. It's deeply disturbing to think about all of the chemicals we have in our homes and what effects they can have on our homes, and while it may be impossible to completely eliminate exposure to all of them, it's great to have a book like this to show what can be done to limit them as much as possible.

The Home Detox Method: Make Your Home a Healthier Place for Everyone Who Lives There by Daniella Chace is a comprehensive guide for individuals looking to improve their health and well-being by reducing their exposure to harmful chemicals and toxins in their homes.

The author describes the impact of toxins to our health, including increased risk of chronic illnesses and reproductive problems and then goes on to detail the most common sources of toxins in the home and the ways in which they can be removed.
One of the standout features of the book is the extensive list of toxic chemicals and substances found in everyday products, such as cleaning products, personal care items, and furniture. The author provides practical advice on how to identify and replace these products with safer alternatives, as well as offering tips for reducing exposure to these chemicals through proper storage and use.
The book also covers important topics such as indoor air quality, water quality, and radiation exposure, and provides recommendations for improving each of these areas. For example, the author provides tips on how to properly ventilate the home, and reduce the use of plastics to improve indoor air quality.

In addition, the book includes detailed information on how to properly clean and maintain a home room by room and also how to make your own cleaning products. This includes information on the use of natural cleaning products, such as vinegar and baking soda, and how to clean and disinfect surfaces effectively. Overall, the book is well-researched and presents the information in a clear, concise manner that is easy to understand. It also has pictures that help you see the items that are described and recommended.

One aspect of the book that I had issues with is the specific brands and products that were recommended as substitutes. They are very American and I struggled to work out what they were and also what the alternatives are in different parts of the world. I also wanted to see more alternatives that were natural e.g. plants and herbs.

All in all, Home Detox is a good book for anyone looking to improve their health and well-being by reducing their exposure to harmful chemicals and toxins in their homes.

The book gives you a lot of information about how our homes are full of toxins that are causing health issues. Every room in our house is filled with toxic items from the bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom to our garden. The author also explains how the plastics and other things we use are affecting the whole family and our neighbours. The author gives recipes to prepare liquid soap, glass spray, dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, bug spray and other essential items made of natural items available at home which are not toxic. Even the clothes we wear, and the current furniture made of wood we buy have some hazardous chemicals. We should create a good environment to live in and survive for the next generation.

We can reduce, reuse and produce less waste, small changes each day and really bringing a positive impact in our lives. The author explains on varied topics how electronics produce chemicals when they heat up and about EMF and how it affects kids more, the kitchen which we use like Teflon coated non-stick pans which are harmful to us.

We are ingesting, inhaling and absorbing a lot of hazardous chemicals from our homes than from outside. I found this book useful for me to know and help myself and my reader and nonreader friends to bring some changes to our home that can positively impact our surroundings. If you want to bring some changes into your lives and create a toxin-free zone the book is the right choice for you.

While I did enjoy some of what this book offered, I was not loyal in the reading of it. It was a book I stopped and would go back to, only because this is the type of book you could do that with. Unfortunately, it was pulled before I finished it. Some of the things would be easy to practice, while others seemed too over the top. I thank NetGalley and Storey Publishing for the advance read.

A really comprehensive handbook on home detoxing and one I will use for reference frequently I think. Highly recommended, I already knew that you could clean your home with bicarbonate of soda and white vinegar but I knew nothing about the contents of the rest of the book. Very informative.

There are a lot of good tips/helpful hints throughout the book. It goes step by step and room by room (even outdoors!) Recommended to pair with other similar titles to get differing opinions so that users can make the best choice for themselves. Very extensive resources/glossary at the back of the book. The ebook also was arranged a little strangely with its pictures but not enough to prevent useability. A good reference book that is probably better in a physical form and can be used to reference time and again and compare with others.

I have very mixed reviews on this book. Overall it could be a great resource for the right person. I think tor the average person it is very overwhelming and unattainable. It’s a very all of nothing book. I enjoyed learning some of the cleaning solutions and will implement them in my own home, however I don’t see a way I could do every single thing in this book.

Filled with beautiful and inspiring photos, this book by Daniella Chace, provides a step-by-step guide to all the toxins that are found in the home, garden and even makeup, and how to get rid of them. She provides a list of the cleaning equipment that you will need to start, and recipes based on natural ingredients, such as bicarb soda for cleaning various items. These are mostly easy to make, but some include Dr Bronner's products, which you may have to buy online in Australia.

Then she includes an extremely useful room-by-room guide to cleaning, including the laundry and the children's rooms. Apparently, tea-tree oil is wonderfully useful for cleaning, so I am certainly going to try that. I found this book so helpful that I am going to buy it!

I received this free ebook from NetGalley in return for an honest review.
