Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for giving me this eARC to review.

I wouldn't say that this story is great but I have been sucked into the manga. The art is really nice and the premise is interesting and I think it is very good start to a manga series.

Even after reading the synopsis I was not sure what to expect, but I found a funny friendship dynamic!

One night, our girl has an encounter Koga-kun, a popular guy from his school, only he is not Koga-kun, but an alien that shares his body. That first introduction was both random (in a good way) and funny, and it was enjoyable to see their relationship and figuring out whether Koga-kun was himself or not whenever he appeared.

This dynamic trio makes for some fun scenes and interaction and I am excited to see where the story is going and what we are going to learn about Chiro-chan, the alien, and how him being there affects Miyako and Koga.

This is a highschool romance with a twist and I was completely drawn by this I think fell in love with it and although I wasn't sure I would like this from the description , I totally did, so give this a chance if you doubt yourself you won’t regret it

The manga opens with our heroine, whose name is not mentioned for a good chapter or two because no one at school ever bothers to remember it anyway. Miyako is much more interested in being alone so she doesn't speak up and she tries to just avoid her peers. All goes well until her 3 AM loner time is interrupted by popular boy, Koga-kun, or is it him? The boy in front of her looks like her classmate but he's claiming to be an alien. What follows is Miyako trying to explain to Koga-kun that he has an alien trapped in him and she slowly forming a friendship with this alien (and maybe her classmate, but he's pretty mean once he buys into the alien).

This shojo is WEIRD. It's tagged sci-fi on the publisher's website so I'm hopeful that this isn't going to be a story that yanks me along and then goes "haha just kidding." That would be AWFUL. I like the premise with a boy who has two sides: an alien that only comes out when he's sleeping and himself; and, a girl who is super ignored and a loner. There is some predictability, though, in this plot set-up of popular student with loner student, but the alien twist is just interesting.

Overall, fans who just want more shojo might want to give this a go if available for ebook collections. I'm definitely intrigued. (Note: It's only available in ebook format.)

BIG SIGH.

The dynamic of this manga is one of my favorites and I can't wait to continue with volume 2.

When an alien takes over her classmates body, Miya struggles to reconcile her relationship between the two. But then but when Shuichiro suggests that they start dating to making hiding the alien in his body easier, things get stressful!

This manga has one of my favorite tropes and that the secretly kind Mean Upper Classman. Right as I was getting in the story volume 1 ended and I threw up my hands!

I want to thank NetGalley for this preview, as I have already purchased the next books in the series!

Sadly, the provided ARC was not accessible to me however I am nothing if not stubborn and bought it but I’m so glad I did because this was a quick read that was also very cute and charming.

There isn’t anything sound out about this title but its honestly one of the better shoutout manga Ive read, with decent art (not the best but also not the worst!) with a cute protagonist and interesting storyline that keeps you entertained.

I had some laugh out loud moments, some aww moments so If you have the extra coin and want something quick and fun, this is one to choose.

Many thanks to Netgalley and publisher for providing an e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

This is the cutest manga ever! I have read it twice now and i cannot get enough of it. The female lead is quiet and barely have any presence at all in school and at home, her classmates dont even remember her name. The male lead was liked by a lot of people yet he actually dont like the attention. When one night, the girl went out late at night to have her alone time watching cute videos of dogs, she was approached by the boy who now proclaimed he is an alien who invaded the body of the body. This start the friendship between the girl and the alien boy. But the real boy was not taking this well so ensue various interesting scenes.

Personally, i love how this does not go for a typical romance trope and i love these two so much. There are issues on mental health, emotional trauma, friendship and i appreciated this so much. Hope to get the physical copy because i love this so much

Thank you Netgalley/Kodansha for this review copy.
I read this about 2 months ago, but some RL stuff happened, and I didn’t get round to writing up the review. To be fair I don’t remember much about this story, but I do remember liking the art style and the main character.
The premise is interesting, and the Chiro (alien) and Kuga (host) have very different personalities. I do remember that I thought Kuga’s reaction to finding out what is happening to him was really well done.

A girl who is invisible to everyone befriends an alien that lives in the body of the popular kid. I think the story is a bit weird. i like the concept of the alien but the interactions with the popular boy are weird and they don't make me like it a lot. but the alien and her are amazing because he is learning everything

This has to be one of the most unique shojo manga titles I have read!

And the first when it comes to having aliens!

I thought it was a really cute story! Was definitely bummed when it ended despite that this is a very chill slice-of-life. Definitely not a bad thing though! Having "one character" but with two different personalities resulting in "two" characters was SO much fun!

I would definitely say our alien friend is ADORABLE! I absolutely loved his character and how he encouraged our main girl! He was so sweet!

And speaking of our main girl, she was a fun heroine! I liked how though she may have some of the traits of the shy girl who befriends the popular classmate trope, but that still it felt fresh and new in this story. Plus, her having to tell which "guy" she was talking to created some good humor more often than not, especially when in the class setting!

Overall, I was pretty bummed when this story ended because I was enjoying my time reading! It's a light story that I could see myself binge reading more of! (I read the sample of volume two and already need to know what happens next!)

Didn't know what to expect from this manga, but excited to see where it goes

Just finished reading this first volume and I NEED MOOOOOOORE!!
I haven't felt like this in a while and I'm so excited!! I would recommend this manga to everybody, just out of excitement...Love it.

Now, let's take a big breath and calmly talk about this volume.
This story follows a shy "invisible" girl who doesn't connect with anyone in her high school to the point of no one even knowing her name...But that's is okay for her, she is used to it...She is not lonely, she prefers it that way (yeah, sure...).
One early morning/ night she meets with a guy from her high school, a silent and super popular classmate (Toga), but he says to her that he is...¿an alien? A super naive and lovely one that has possessed this guy and walks around when he is asleep.
They become friends againt all odds and our protagonist (Miyako Nikaido) is surprised to realice that she craves the company of a friend...
But when Toga, the real one, finds out something is going on and that inside of his is an alien, he makes Nikaido her main alliance in a...quite coercive way...

Now, that's the plot, okay? It sounds funny, sweet, and full of misunderstandings (in a comedic way) and that's 100% what you will get. I have no complaints this time. I fall in love with this story and I just need to keep reading.
Maki Miyoshi has a lovely and simple style that never flops for the whole volume, which I appreciate because it helps to keep you engaged; Nikaido is a lovely and realistic character and not overly cheesy (like we can see in other mangas); the dynamic of Alien-Toga and Toga is hilarious and well balance...and overall a manga worth reading.

I've been in the mood for a cute and charming manga lately, so I decided to dive into Nighttime for Just Us Two Volume 1 by Maki Miyoshi. If you're dealing with a similar craving, it hits the spot.

Koga is one of those students who fades into the background. She does it so well that most of her classmates don't know her name. It's a life that Koga has been mostly content to live, as it allows her to enjoy the world at night with nobody to bother her.

However, her life is in for a rude awakening when the most popular boy in school finds her favorite relaxing spot. Only...he's not really that boy. According to him, he's an alien that inhabits his body while he's asleep. Yeah, it's a lot. What's more, he wants to be Koga's friend.

I'll be the first to admit that Nighttime for Just Us Two Volume 1 has a bit of a convoluted concept. An alien inhabiting a teenage boy's body, but only while he sleeps? One that just so happens to desire nothing more than Koga's friendship?

Despite that, it was quite a bit of fun to read. Once you overlook the lack of consent issue (walking around in somebody's body is creepy). Koga's character takes a bit of time to shine (unlike her counterpart), but it is pretty tough to turn away from once it does.

I'll admit that I'm curious to see where this one goes. Is there a compromise that will make all three characters happy? Or are they doomed for some horrible ending? I honestly have no clue.

If Maki Miyoshi could make me believe in a story where a twenty-something cop decided that the best way to handle being in love with a high school girl is to marry her, she can absolutely make me buy that a high school boy is being possessed by an alien. That may not actually be the case, of course - "Chiro" has a lot of knowledge that merely possessing Koga wouldn't give him, and Koga seems uncomfortable enough with his own emotions that Chiro could easily be a coping mechanism to express them, especially when some of those feelings appear to be a crush on the class invisible girl, Miyako Nikaido. Nikaido is a sad case, the girl whose name no one can be bothered to remember and who flies so far below the radar that a metal detector would be the better tool to find her, and meeting Chiro one night gives her a new sense of self and a real friend. I'm not sure how this is all going to pan out, but one thing's for sure - Maki Miyoshi is an author who works wonders with a paper-thin premise, and I'm eager to see where this one goes.

This one is downright hilarious 😂 Introverted and shy Miyako has always been invisible at school. People mostly ignore her, but when they acknowledge her, they do not even get her name correct.

When she sneaks out one night to watch her favourite dog videos alone as usual, she is approached by the school's popular boy, Koga-kun out of nowhere. To make matters weirder, Koga-kun insists that he's an alien (who she later nicknamed Chiro-chan) and wants to befriend Miyako.

Although the actual Koga-kun really does know her real name, Miyako realises that the one at school is different than the alien, and she chalks it up as a weird dream of her own. But when Koga-kun realises that Chiro-chan exists and Miyako is befriending it, he's outrageous and ropes Miyako into taking responsibility if anything ever happens to his body because of Chiro-chan.

I find Miyako's expressions to be really funny; she's definitely someone fun to be with if someone actually cares to get close to her. She cares a lot about Chiro-chan, but Koga-kun scares her too much. Koga-kun can be a bit brash at times, but his body is being taken control of and the only one who knows about it is someone considered as a nobody at school, so it's a given how irritated he will feel.

This volume mostly covers how Miyako befriends Chiro-chan, and how she ends up being involved in Koga-kun's life simultaneously. There's not much known about how the alien actually works, and why it chose Koga-kun's body, and why it insists to be so close with Miyako. The fact that only Koga-kun (among the humans) knows Miyako's full name is also something to ponder upon too. Perhaps he actually noticed her before?

Overall, this has been a comedic and cute story that I really enjoyed! I look forward to more messy and funny moments between these three 💖

CHIRO-CHAN IS SO SWEET!!!!! Love, Love LOVE this first in a series that I suspect will be one of my comfort reads when I am feeling down.

High-school romance with a sci-fi twist. I completely fell in love with it and, as such, highly recommend it to Shojo manga readers. I wasn't sure I would like this from the description of it and I am SO glad that I gave it a chance!

5, Chiro-chan is the BEST, stars!

My thanks to NetGalley and Kodansha for an eARC copy of this book to read and review.

I would like to thank NetGallery and Maki Miyoshi for providing me with a copy of this book. This manga is cute and funny. The story is really weird but I like it. After the first chapter, I was hooked. I read it in one sitting, and I don't do that often! This is a very promising start to a new series, and I can't wait to see what happens next. I loved the dynamics between the three characters, and seeing Miya-chan try and stand up for herself more and more. I love the art style it is so cute. I will absolutely be continuing this series as it releases.

Could be a sweet love triangle with a scent of fantastic but the "normal" Koga-kun is such a douche I can't stand him. Too bad for the narration, he maybe has a cute face but his mind is too stupidly petty.

Nighttime for Just Us Two, Volume 1 by Maki Miyoshi was the start to a very sweet story. It captures the spirit of high school with a quirky and messy charm, and I'm looking forward to the next volume.

Nighttime for Just Us Two is a funny, and unique manga with a simple but captivating art style. It did take some time to adjust to the simple art style but the simplicity allowed the plot to shine through. The plot is by far the best part of this manga. We watch a blossoming friendship between our female lead and the male lead who by day is a normal student and by night his body is taken over by a friendly alien. I'm looking forward to how the story develops.
