I really enjoyed this book. It was my first by this author but after reading this book it wont be my last. well written with a compellng storyline that had obviously been incredibly well researched and well developed characters that all added to the plot or atmosphere in some way.
The knowledge in the book was high level without feeling like a text book, I am an Ebglish Literature/History major and I leart a lot from this book and it didnt even feel like learning. I really loved it.

I am now of the opinion that all Bernard Cornwall books should be part of the history curriculum in schools (for the older reader) as I learn so much about history from his books that I never did at school whilst at the same time reading a highly entertaining and enjoyable tale that transports my imagination to worlds long gone, this new series is yet again a excellent read and I highly recommend it
