This book Is clearly about addiction and mental illness.

Anyone can read a book, however when you truly read- a- book- one should be able to pick up on the fact that the main character was raised in an abusive environment.

Her mother died at a young age and she never knew her father. The main character suffers from body dysmorphia and show clear signs of schizophrenia throughout the book.

The main character's life is the perfect recipe for disaster. Many people want to focus on the interracial relationship, and I suppose you can do that however no relationship will last when dealing with two dysfunctional people.
That being said, I look forward to the sequel. Brandon's POV should be one to remember.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this title in exchange for an honest review.
As evidenced by the fact that this book is already out I struggled with this. I did manage to finish but this was not for me. The constant drama and bad decision-making was way too much for me.

i dnf'd this at 5%.

i couldn't get into it. the information was a bit much and felt like it was forced. the writing style was good, but all everything else was just too confusing.

I really liked this book to begin with. I thought it had an interesting perspective and I really liked the way it centered around interracial relationships and different kinds of relationships. However after a bit more than half the book the story lost many points because of the constant drama as well as how the main character’s character development seems to stop. I understand that this may be on purpose but unfortunately that just made me want to stop reading towards the end. Overall the story feels unfinished which makes sense because I only read part one. I am however afraid that I did not enjoy the story enough to read the second part.
