At first, I thought this would be a really good book, a really good romance, but I think as the book progressed I just kept falling out with some of the wording that was used and it just the thought that conflict didn’t feel like it was real enough to warrant how long it went on So I think that definitely pulled the book down generally for me, but I didn’t like the main two lead characters, and I think the progression together was very cute and whimsical.

An okay second chance romance. This trope is a favorite of mine and also one I’m very picky about because everything has to work for me. The history between the heroine and hero, a valid or understandable reason for the breakup and a reunion filled with chemistry. Sadly Edgar and Delilah didn’t work for me as a couple. I wasn’t feeling the chemistry or connection but the dialogue and banter was great and fun.
It’s only told from Edgar’s POV which was a surprise and maybe the reason they weren’t working for me as a couple. I needed Delilah’s POV.
Still it was an okay read and I got an introduction to Edgar’s family which caught my attention.

THIS. BOOK. 💘
I loved how this was told from Edgar's POV only. Its the first time I've ever read a romance from only the male POV!

I will definitely be reading more of Kelly's books. This was so enjoyable. Steamy, spicy, angsty. A well done slow burn.

***3 Stars***

The premise of the book intrigued me and I’ve read and enjoyed previous books by the author, so I was like, let’s give this one a go. But, it ended up falling into the ‘like’ column for me. There were some sweet and funny moments, along with some really emotional ones that tugged at my heart and I loved the small town vibe and how strong the Bower’s family was, but…and I hate to say thing…I didn’t enjoy being in E’s head all the time. There were some other aspects that didn’t necessarily work for me story wise, but while I love a beautiful chaotic mind, especially one determined to win his soulmate back, it was a just a bit much for me.

But while this was wasn’t a huge win for me, I am intrigued by the rest of the brothers and the loves they left behind and will definitely give the next book in the series a go and see what fate has in store for them.

This is the first in the series of Bower Boys series looking at E's story. In circumstances beyond their control Deliah and E have been ripped apart but they have a second chance at love There are plenty of hurdles in the way of them rekindling their romance but Siskind builds the tension well in the telling of their stories and hints at the stories to come involving the other Bower Boys.
I will certainly read more by Siskind and recommend this without hesitation.

This is a second chance romance that will capture your heart! I loved how sweet and patient E was when waiting for Delilah to come back around to him. This book is well written and fast paced! I loved the way E spoke about his dog Candy Cane! This was a fun read!

This book is a 4.25 stars for me! Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

4.5 stars - Sexy, sincere, and swoon-worthy, 50 Ways to Win Back Your Lover is a perfect distress read. My favorite part is that the hero, E, adopts a dog named Candy Cane, and all throughout the book you have this manly, handsome guy speaking so affectionately about his sweet, sensitive girl, Candy Cane. It just warms my heart!

I received an ARC of this book, from the publisher, via NetGalley, in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Hello

Apologies for the late notice, but I have decided not to review this title.

While I am certain it's obvious by now, I wanted to also clear this off NetGalley, so it's not showing as open for either of us.

I look forward to continuing to work with you in 2023 and beyond.

A second chance romance that will capture your heart. It's emotional and sad. It is written from only the hero's point of view and I don't know if anyone can love a woman better than him. He is such a perfect lover.

This was definitely a unique concept for a book. I have never read any witness protection romance before so it was new for sure.

I liked how the groveling went as far as winning back Delilah was concerned. He was really sweet, and patient when it came to waiting and giving her time to consider her choices and decisions. But at the same time, it also felt like it was dragged a little bit, like she was confused about it one second, and had made up her mind the next.

The Bower brothers and their mother have been in witness protection for ten years because their father was involved in a cartel. It has been a devastating time for all of them but also for the people they left behind without explanations. Edgar, or E, or Brian, had to leave his best friend and first love, Delilah Moon, and once the threat of the cartel has been eliminated, Delilah is the first person he wants to contact. When E goes back to his hometown many people are a bit hostile to him and protective of Delilah. But he persists, hoping to win back her friendship. I loved E's character, all the emotion, his clumsy jokes, his way of absorbing other people's feelings, his dog, his graphic novel and his lists. This is all told from his point of view. and he doesn't find out Delilah's side of the story until later in the book. He is certain that he wants to be with Delilah but Delilah is holding back something and one of his challenges is to incorporate Delilah's point of view into his own project of winning her back.
This stands alone but after all the set-up about his brothers I have to read Desmond's story too.
I received a free copy of this book and this is a voluntary review.

50 Ways to Win Back Your Lover is the first book in the Bower Boys series and the first book I have read by this author. My attention was caught once I read the blurb and I’m so glad I had a chance to read it. The book was well written, fast paced, and had likable characters. There is a prequel to the book, but I think reading it is optional. I love how real the characters were and how straightforward the book is. Delilah and Edgar’s story is emotional and so sad. I was cheering for Edgar to win back Delilah, his childhood love, and the life he could have had if he had been allowed to stay. I really look forward to seeing Edgar’s brothers find their HEA.
I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This was a very unique premise and I enjoyed reading it. I love getting the man's perspective in romance novels and Kelly's books never disappoint.

50 Ways to Win Back Your Lover is told from the point of view of Edgar as he reconnects with his long lost high school love when he manages to finally get out of the witness protection program that broke them up in the first place.

Honestly I couldn’t get through more than half of the book and had to DNF it. Edgar was honestly too much for me. While he was 27 he had the mentality of someone still stuck in high school. The banter between him and Delilah Moon (which that name honestly bugged me from the beginning) felt very much like the middle schoolers that I work with. Very immature and kiddish.

I liked the parts where Edgar delved into his job as a graphic novel artist, but that part didn’t feel like it fit in with the romantic part of the story. There were a lot of subplots like the whole fundraiser Delilah was putting on and the graphic designer and Edgar talking with his family that nothing felt cohesive. The flashbacks between Edgar and Delilah came out of nowhere and didn’t flow very well.

Overall I felt like this book was trying to do much. I think if Edgar felt more like a 27 year old and there was less subplots it would have been a much better book.

50 ways to win back your lover... is a great second chance love story. I couldn't help but to fall in love with E! I do wish he would have been himself instead of trying to be someone he wasn't with those 50 dates, but it worked out for him eventually. I enjoyed the suspense of Delilah's backstory, but I think it should have been revealed a little earlier than it was. I loved the smalltown setting of the story as well. Who couldn't fall in love with a setting like that and a man like E. All in all, I enjoyed this story, and it was my first book by this author.

4.5 stars — I totally didn’t reread the blurb before starting this book, and completely forgot the hook for this story! It had me sucked in and emotionally invested right from the start.

E was absolutely adorable. His whole character, and the romance between E and Delilah reminded me of one of my favourite authors, so needless to say I was sucked in. There was something so real about him — real emotion, obviously, but he was also awkward and had a childish sense of humour at times, and I don’t know…just a real hero. I LOVE those. I wouldn’t necessarily call him a beta boy, but he was awfully close (be still my heart). I loved his growth throughout the story. While I don’t see his start as selfishly as he does, I still appreciated how he was able to take in a bigger perspective of everything that happened because of 10 years ago.

Even though we only get E’s POV, I still fell in love with Delilah. I will admit that I did not guess her secret quite correctly, and it was hard waiting so long to get that answer…just as hard for this reader as for E. But even though you could see her jagged pieces, she wasn’t completely broken. I appreciated that she had clawed back parts of her life, and E didn’t “fix” her by coming back. He helped give her that final bit of peace she was missing, but she still had a solid fulfilling life on her own.

They were pretty cute together. I loved getting the memories from their past so you could understand how deep their relationship was 10 years ago when everything happened. And then it was so satisfying to see them get back first their epic friendship, and eventually more. They made my heart happy.

I love when a small town becomes its own character in a story, and I can definitely say that the townspeople of Windfall added their own flavour. And I ADORED the varying personalities of the Bower Boys, and can’t wait for all of their stories.

My depression is pretty strong right now, so I will admit that I think this book would have hit even higher if I’d been in a better frame of mind…which is saying something.

I love finding new-to-me romance authors, especially when they’re Canadian. I hadn’t read Kelly Siskind’s novels before but I jumped at the chance to read 50 Ways to Win Back Your Lover – and not only because the title was so ridiculously intriguing! The novel was just as ridiculous but in the BEST possible way. I devoured this romance and had so much fun reading it.

Here’s the book’s description:
Growing up, I had it all—my art, close friends, a gorgeous girlfriend who owned my heart—but then my life exploded.
Turns out my father was laundering money, and my whole family got shoved into witness protection. No notice. No chance to explain. I was ripped away from beautiful, blue-eyed Delilah Moon, shattering both our worlds.
A decade later, fate has given us a second chance.
The cartel my father worked for has been wiped out. I’ve returned to my hometown, determined to win back the love of my life. But Delilah is engaged.
Or . . . is she?
I’m almost positive she’s lying about her fiancé to protect her heart. Which means I need to up my game.
I’ve made a list of fifty ways to prove we’re meant to be. Except Delilah’s barely looking at me, never mind swooning. I have a feeling my disappearance scarred her more than she’s admitting, and no one in town will tell me what happened . . .
One unexpected thing about this novel was that it was written entirely from E’s point of view. It’s not often you read romances written by women that are told solely from the male’s perspective. It totally worked though! At least, I thought so…I wonder what any straight males would think but, hey, this is a romance novel – not everything has to be realistic. Remember that: the leads in romance novels are not real life! I loved E so very much though and hearing the story from his POV made me love him even more.

Of course, E was a total bonehead sometimes. How he thought a ridiculous list of 50 things would help him win back Delilah, I don’t know. It was like he was trying to be all suave and pretending to be someone he wasn’t. No wonder it wasn’t working! Thankfully, he realizes the list is SO not going to work and he relies on what he remembers about Delilah and what he’s learning about her as he gets to know her again as adults.

There’s a lot of missing information in Delilah’s story and the suspense drawing it out was pretty well done. I do think it should have been revealed sooner because by the time I learned the full story, I was thinking, “OK, OK, just tell me what happened to her after E left already!” I had a lot of theories though I wasn’t quite expecting what ended up being the truth. I won’t give anything away but if you have issues with anything surrounding pregnancy or the inability to become pregnant, be prepared. And my DMs are open (kaleys23) if you want to know the full extent of the storyline.

I loved the small-town setting and the second chance romance trope. I’m getting a bit tired of the “we were SO IN LOVE when we were 18 and then we were torn apart and no one has managed to capture my heart since” because, who knows themselves at 18? And I say this having had the same partner since 18 – but we’ve grown and changed together, and I didn’t roll back into town expecting everything to be the same. I think I kind of gave E a pass on this one because the way he and Delilah were torn apart gave them zero closure so they really had to work that out before they could even begin to contemplate being together again as adults. It took time for them to realize that, of course, but the journey getting there was an angst-filled delight of a time.

If you’re a fan of dramatic and angsty romances, you really need to read 50 Ways to Win Back Your Lover. I thoroughly enjoyed Kelly Siskind’s novel, and I cannot wait for the second book in the Bower Boys series, which comes out in January. I’ll definitely be checking out her back list in the future as well!
