Kiki Kallira has the power to bring her drawings to life. She has managed to create a whole kingdom that she had to save from a cruel god. She hasn't been back home long when one of the Crows
comes into her world asking her for help - a mysterious curse threatens Mysore and everyone expects Kiki to use her powers to save the problem.

With her mounting anxiety, enemies seeking to stop her and a city growing weaker by the minute, Kiki's confidence falters. Will she be able to unravel the curse and save her kingdom before it's too late?

What a great book! I'm a great fan of Sangu Mandanna's writing and Lej and Kiki are now one of my favourite pairs of characters in MG books! Their relationship is absolutely brilliant - it's filled with so much humour and sarcasm. I love them both! I enjoyed being back in the company of the Crows and I love the representation in the book.

I really enjoyed the story - just like in book one, there are some unexpected twists along the way and the plot kept surprising me. I loved the references to the Hindu mythology and I hope there will be more books in the series.

'Kiki Kallira Conquers a Curse' is a story about friendship and loyalty, about finding your own strength and facing your own demons. Most importantly, it's a book about mental health, sending important messages about self-acceptance and self-belief. As Kiki learns how to manage her anxieties, she shares advice and some strategies she has been given by her doctor. All that is cleverly woven into the story and I'm sure that many readers, children and adult alike, will find those strategies very useful.

If you haven't had a chance yet, you should pick up 'Kiki Kallira Conquers a Curse' (and book one as well) as you're bound to be be pulled into the magical world of Kiki and her friends.

KIKI KALLIRA CONQUERS A CURSE is a sequel I enjoyed reading! It was simple and easy to read through. I especially loved the humor—honestly, only a couple pages in and I'm laughing too hard!. This book also explores Kiki's OCD, now much better though it doesn't completely go away.

I loved this one! The first book is definitely self contained but a sequel doesn't change anything! In this book, we dive deep into Mysore's history and lore—to discover an ancient curse. To be frank, I first thought that it wouldn't live up to the first book, but boy I was so wrong and I'm glad for that because Sangu Mandanna totally blew me away! The writing did feel a little repetitive at points but I was too immersed with what was going on onscreen. The found family only gets better and we also see a character from the previous book (not spoiling)!

Overall, this was a perfect sequel and I'm definitely recommending this series to everyone now!

Mental health in general and anxiety in particular are much more common topics now than they used to be, but there's still a long way to go. A lot of what's available reads like a thinly veiled textbook, which is why books like this, where anxiety is an aspect of the plot but isn't the whole plot, are so important.

There's also the fact that these stories are based on Indian folklore. Despite being a folklore nut as a child, I don't know much about anything that isn't European; the books simply weren't available at the time, and I love that the world is opening up to experience stories from other cultures. As I say, I don't know enough about Indian folklore to know how closely Kiki's adventures are based on them, but either way they're fabulous in their own right.

I don't want to spoil things for a reader, but the realisations Kiki comes to throughout the story are fantastic. I dearly hope there'll be more to read in this series, as it's one of the best out there at the moment.

It took me a while to get into this story but the main character was appealing, with her troubled life and mental health issues I can see that she could be a source of strength for many youngsters who have faced similar things. Definitely relatable for many and I think this will be it's pull for many. A good story to share and discuss.
