Such a cute light romance read about Mia who is fresh off a breakup and heads to Hawaii for a trip alone. There she rents a lovely cottage from earn vet John who is dealing with some personal demons. It’s a fast ready with a beachy summer feel and overall very enjoyable

I enjoyed this book. It was simple and cute, but was short and the pace was off, especially towards the end. And there was too much miscommunication for me to love it.

Sadly, this did not hold me in as I thought it would. I don't know if it is because I could not get much attached to the characters or because I had expected something different from it. Still enjoyable, but the pacing was a bit odd to me.

Such a cute book! A quick romcom with lots of charm, this book is great for anyone getting over a break-up or who just wants to escape the winter for someplace warm — even just on a page! Great for Nicholas Sparks.

This is a great grump/sunshine romance that reminds me of Maya Banks' KGI series. I will definitely be reading more of Reinking in the future.

This was a cute read, perfect for a summer day by the pool or at the beach! I immediately felt transported to Hawaii along with the main characters and I love a good slow burn of a romance. Thank you, NetGalley, for the ARC!

This book was such a treat! I was immediately hooked with the beautiful setting of Hawaii. It was provided such a dreamy, fun, and romantic back drop for this lovely romance. I admired Mia for making a big change in her life after a breakup and taking the time to heal. She gained so much in Hawaii, including a budding romance with army vet John. John's character was so well written and the careful attention paid to being a veteran was appreciated. I loved that this love story started out as a friendship and had that slow-burn build up. It made their connection to me feel so realistic and believable. I loved Megan's writing and I've since read more of her books. This is a perfect summer read and is a feel-good, warm and fuzzy story. Four stars.

I’ve had this on my shelf for awhile now and I’m so happy I decided to pick it up, I cruised through it in just two days. Between the Hawaiian backdrop and low angst, this is the perfect summer read! I really loved the grumpy/sunshine vibes that John and Mia had, and how she could chat with anyone and pretty much become friends immediately. Overall, this was a really fun, sweet read.

I’m excited to read Paige and Matt’s story soon!

This book was perfectly pleasant. It's a lovely one to bring with you on holidays as the beach side setting with perfectly match up with the weather and your surroundings. It's a short and quick read with enjoyable character and a beautiful setting. However, John and Mia do not have the greatest chemistry.

A cute book, a really nice romance but not that kind of book you never forget. This reading is just that, a nice time passed while reading it but not memorable. A book I recommend for someone who wants something simple and easy to read.

A quick fun read! Lovely setting and cute characters, but the last 3rd dragged quite a lot. Definitely interested in reading the rest of Megan Reinking's books!

this book was cute and simple, i liked it for the first majority of the story but the last maybe 20% felt like it was dragging on for me personally.

I can honestly say nothing in this book stood out to me. I didn't hate reading it but it was almost forgettable the moment I finished it. John and Mia didn't have sizzling chemistry and honestly I couldn't really feel why they even liked each other. I wish I knew more about how they felt and what they wanted rather than just a passerby in their story. With that said the book was easy to read and if you have kindle unlimited and want a relaxing beach read this is it.

Mia is after a distraction. She’s broken up with her on again, off again boyfriend Sean. Mia thinks it might be for good this time, no more good can come of the two of them getting back together.

An extended vacation to Hawaii is just what the doctor ordered. Mia rents Ohana cottage on the island from a guy called John on Air BnB.

Upon arriving in Hawaii, Mia settles in to the cottage well. She spends a few days finding her feet and getting to know some of the locals.

John is a quiet guy that likes to keep to himself. Mia notices he’s not much of a talker. We later understand he has ptsd from being in the military.

Can Mia break down John’s barriers and get to know him a bit better? After all they are sharing the same garden.

This was a lovely bit of escapism. The main character herself in the story is from a cold Minnesota. Her retreat to Hawaii and the sunshine is a welcome feeling.

I enjoyed the dark brooding John and seeing that underneath it all he’s just a regular guy but has a hard exterior to protect himself.

Ideal summer reading but also lovely in the recent cold snap we’ve been having to dream of sunnier days!
