I really enjoyed this psychological thriller, well written with a compelling and interesting storyline and well developed characters including the two protagonists who were unreliable and damaged. It was dark, gripping and unpredictable and I loved it

Read through netgalley for honest review.
This is the initially very relatable account of cleo and rachel who live in a scummy house share in London and use a fictional version of chat roulette (you remember from parties 15 years ago with all the random men masturbating- do not recommend).
The story then goes a little absurd but really draws you in! I genuinely wanted to know what happened and finished this book in two days.
Not sure how I felt about the ending so 4 stars (5 only for very few of my favourite favourite books) but this has been a great way to fill a weekend and would be perfect for holiday. Will buy my sister a copy when it comes out because I know she will love it!

OMG.
Right, so I am not sure where to start with this review, but I guess the first thing I will say is it is BRILLIANT!
I have read previous books by Lauren North, and they have kept me transfixed. This was no different, with the added twists and turns that kept me second-guessing at every turn!
Cleo's best friend is reported missing, just as she is due to leave for her next job on a cruise ship.
A best friend she hasn't spoken to for five years.
Still, Rachel was her best friend, and since her sister is so worried and there is some pretty grim backstory to their severed friendship, she heads off to London to see what she can find out.
Honestly, I thought I knew what was going on, then something else would get thrown into the mix, making me double myself, then I'd be sure again, and the same thing would happen again.
But, put it this way, it wasn't until right near the end when I worked it out, a few sentences before it was spelt out to me!
There are several disturbed characters in this book, including our main ones, too. Hence the difficulty in guessing. But that is exactly what you want from a psychological thriller and I got that in spadefuls!
As I said before, BRILLIANT!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Random House UK, Transworld Publishers, and Penguin for an Arc in exchange for an honest review.

Awesome.
Best friends Cleo and Rachel spend their evenings pretending to be people they're not, inventing elaborate stories to escape the monotony of their real lives. It's all harmless fun - until they play the game on the wrong person..
Five years later, Cleo is still struggling to come to terms with the night that destroyed her friendship with Rachel and almost cost them their lives. And then she receives a text: Rachel is missing. Have you seen her Wracked with guilt for failing Rachel the last time they were in danger, Cleo races to find her friend. But could the past be repeating itself? Only this time, they're caught up in a far darker game. The rules don't matter when the goal is revenge
Lauren North knows very well how to engage her readers. It's a mind blowing psychological thriller.
Thanks to NetGalley and Transworld Publishers for giving me an advance copy.

What can I say about this? First off epic. Secondly I thought okay I've guessed the ending, I've guessed the twist but I hadn't. And I enjoyed that greatly.
