Any book that encourages children to embrace their uniqueness and love who they are as an individual is a great book in my opinion!

At the back of the book I received as a copy for review purpose, there's this wish that I like the book. And I do!!! I really enjoy the book and the message sent within it. That we are all unique. This girl might have a unique name, Rainbow. But from where I come, people still name babies by what they saw first when the baby's born. Some are also the parent's wish for the baby. So whatever your name is, that's one of your treasure given by your parents. And besides, I love unique names.

A thoughtful children’s book about the power of names, it had some cute illustrations. I would have liked a little more on the identity and cultural concept of the meaning of the name within the book.

With an uncommon name like Rainbow, she finds herself the target of being teased and laughed at by her classmates. Rainbow wants to change her name but when her mother explains the importance of her name, she has a change of heart. This was a good story about a little girl finding acceptance and even a new friend. My 7 year old daughter loved the story and colorful illustrations. Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Thank you Netgalley and BooksGoSocial for the opportunity to read this book.

A wonderful story showcasing issues children face. Bullies exist unfortunately, it's up to the family, friends and advocates to help a child feel comfortable with their name and themselves.

A cute but ultimately substance-less picture book. The bright colours and pages don't really distract from the fact that this book isn't really about anything.

This is a beautifully drawn children’s illustrated book about a young girl called Rainbow who comes to accept and be proud of the uniqueness of her name. This was really well written and such a feel-good read! There were some rhymes in the book which I wish had been more consistent. I think this is great representation to have for children who do have unique names because bullying is way too common and it can feel so isolating. So I know this will be an invaluable book for them to see themselves in! Respecting a persons name is such an integral part of respecting someone for who they are so it’s important for all kids to learn this.

An enjoyable book about celebrating being different. Would be a great book to read at school to get the kids to think about how they treat each other based on their names and to open up discussions about the differences between them and how it's ok to be different. The illustrations for this book were so cute and really added to the book.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with the e-ARC.

A Girl Named Rainbow is a lovely picture book about life with a 'different' name like Rainbow. I am sure many children (and adults) will identify with Rainbow and her journey to loving her name. It is beautifully illustrated as well.

I was not a fan of this. It felt like it was robotically written and illustrated through a program to mass sell books. The colors are very overwhelming and take away from it. Will not be posting on my Instagram.

This book is about accepting who you are. Rainbow, which is a unique name, but her classmates made fun of it. I really enjoyed the life lesson in this book. The rhyming, and dialogue were age-appropriate, and the hello of the story was great. I love the cover. The illustrations were bright, detailed, and very Lively. This is a must-read for elementary-aged children. I give this book 4 stars.

Loved the representation in this book. It was very popular with my daughter and her friends. We loved the identification of a problem and the association with feelings and the final resolution/lesson. Great book! Amazing story!

The illustrations in this book are fantastic! They are bright, colorful, and do a great job of showing the emotions Rainbow is conveying.

I love that Rainbow learns to appreciate her uniqueness and pride. This was a cute story and would make a great addition to a classroom or library.

This is a good book to add to any classroom library. It is about Rainbow and how she learns to accept and appreciate her name. Having another student join her class with a unique name helps her to make a friend and have something in common. Such a good lesson about accepting yourself and others. The illustrations are fantastic! So colorful and bright!

I received a free ebook copy of "A Girl Named Rainbow" written and illustrated by Krystaelynne Sanders Diggs in exchange for an honest review of the title.

"A Girl Named Rainbow" is a sweet picture book with darling illustrations and a message straight from the heart. Children and caregivers will be able to take the message of pride in uniqueness and to celebrate that in others. The illustrations and meaning are well polished, however, the writing feels more like a first draft. While the story rhymes at most sentence endings, the rhyme scheme falls away entirely on others. This leaves the reader turning back to see if a page was missed since the pattern broke. Dividing the rhymes into rhyming couplets instead of paragraphs could also help the reader follow the rhyme as well as introduce young readers to basic forms of poetry.
This is a very sweet book, and a memorable one, too. I'm sure Sanders Diggs will go on to create more children's books that cultivate confidence in one's self and I look forward to those future projects.

A Girl Named Rainbow was a very cute book about accepting oneself, standing up for yourself, and family values. My 5 yr old felt all the emotions that Rainbow felt and told me that he would be her friend. He loves Rainbows.
I would definitely add this to my children's bookshelf.
