About a young girl named Rainbow, who gets teased at school for her unique name, this children's book teaches children to embrace who they are. As someone who has a unique name, I had very similar experiences to Rainbow as a kid and so I like how relatable the story is. The cover of the book, it's what drew me in with its bright technicolors and the cheery look on Rainbow's face. I enjoyed the parts of the story that rhymed and wished it rhymed consistently through out. Other than that, it's a good story with a great message.

The artwork in this story is wonderful & the message for children is perfect. As a parent I found the book easy to read out loud as it flowed well.

Respecting names is a fundamental part of respecting people. Rainbow enjoys a unique name in a family full of unique names, but finds it a bit less easy to be different when she begins school. The teasing begins immediately, and Rainbow is emotionally crushed, even wishing she could lie and change her name. I appreciated that the problem was not solved in a single talk with grown-ups or a single moment of standing up for herself. It's a process. Children at school continue to tease Rainbow about her name, but she comes to love it HERSELF once more, rather than seeking to change the opinions of others. And, with her own self-confidence restored, Rainbow is able to end the book as an advocate for another child with their own unique name.

While I did like the rhymes used in the latter 2/3rds of the book, they're nowhere to be seen in the beginning. The story begins in simple prose, so the switch to rhyme was actually took several pages to notice. I'd have preferred the book to rhyme throughout.

The artwork is reminiscent of a less-busy Lisa Frank, perhaps paired with dolls. Very round faces and large eyes, all set in a vibrant, high-saturation world. We get to see Rainbow in several outfits and hairstyles, which I don't often see in children's books, which tend to limit themselves to one design. Most double-page spreads have the action of the scene on just one page, with the opposite page, containing the text, being left mostly as a flat color. I wish a bit more a little effort had been put into the text pages, but the "action" pages are busy enough to satisfy most kids.

Overall, a cute story, which my daughter enjoyed. She brought up an instance of a classmate making fun of a name at her own school, and we had a good talk about the importance of names and culture, and respecting both. So, this book was a great conversation starter!

Thank you so much to booksgosocial and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review

This was really sweet, I loved the illustrations they were so cute and so vibrant and very bright, such beautiful images to look at, perfect for young children.

Little rainbow was sad as the other children laughed at her name, making her really not like being called Rainbow at all, but then her mom teachers her why her name is so special and unique and she finally becomes confident with her name.

I really love that so much, so many children have unique names that were chosen for a special and specific reason. It can be hard for them to understand it especially when other children sneer at them, this book is a wonderful way of helping them embrace and love their names.

I just love this story so much and can't wait to get a hard cover version for my littles. Despite it being a brief picture book, so many emotions were packed into this story and the art is simply fantastic.

This book is about a girl named Rainbow who gets bullied by her classmates for having a different name. The graphics are colorful and almost animated looking. This book is about embracing your differences and owning them without letting others bring you down. It also touches on being empathetic and the Golden Rule. Overall, a cute story. It is more tell rather than show in getting its message across.

This was a very sweet book, with cute illustrations to match, but I just felt that the story fell a little flat to me. It was a little odd that at some points the story would flow and rhyme and then it would randomly stop rhyming, giving it a very abrupt and jolting pace. The flow was inconsistent, making it a little hard to read. On the opposite end, sometimes, the words chosen to fit the rhyming scheme were a little odd and left me a bit confused. All in all, it's a sweet story, just not one I would personally buy for my library.

A lovely book all about a girl with a unique name who feels different to everyone else and wants a new name after other children make fun of her. Lovely message about how your name shows your identity, your culture, family, heritage and is something you should be proud of. Being different sets you free.

A girl named Rainbow is a brilliant book about a little girl who's name was Rainbow. At school, people laughed at her and called her name silly, because her name was different. This made her feel sad and upset but she chose to hold her head up high and ignore the people who wasn't kind to her. Then one day, someone comes to school with a special name too and they became best of friends. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Every parents only wishes all the best for their children. All of those hope normally they written on the children name. Rainbow, our girl here always being laughingstock at class because of her name so unusual.

I love how Rainbow finally can stand up for her self to defend her own name. The additional unique name friend is fine but I really want to see the difference of her friends response after that.

Thanks Netgalley for this adorable book.

I love this sweet book about being proud of your name and who you are. Today, many children have special names. Whether they be part of a culture, religion, or another group, we need to teach children to accept each other and celebrate the differences in each of us.

Every child needs to be proud of who they are and embrace their special qualities.

The rhyming prose in this book is a delightful way to express this story. The illustrations are vibrant and colorful, showing happy individuals celebrating who they are. The large eyes draw you to each see the beauty in each child.

The best place for this book would be on every child’s, grandparents, pre-school, and early elementary school bookshelf to teach children to be proud of who they are and to respect the differences in others. This is a wonderful book to be handed down through the generations.

I received this advanced reader’s copy from the Author/Illustrator Krystaelynne Sanders Diggs and NetGalley. This is a voluntary review, and all comments and opinions are entirely my own.

What a great story! My 5 year old and I read this and it provided a great opportunity to talk about differences, whether it’s someone’s name or something else. I loved that Rainbow had the opportunity to make another kid feel welcome after her own experience. I was already thinking about discussing that point with my daughter so I am glad it was brought up. The illustrations are fantastic. Bright and colourful and added to the story.
Thank you NetGalley and BooksGoSocial for the digital ARC!

This is a really cute uplifting children’s book about a little girl named Rainbow and how she one day doesn’t like her name because she keeps getting teased at school. Her mom helps her change her mind about her name and helps her to love the name she was given. This book was done really well I loved illustrations and how colorful and bright they were. I believe this book can help young children with self esteem issues as well as self love. I think young children need more books like this, especially when the media is telling young kids to be and act a certain way instead of learning to love themselves.

Absolutely loved reading this book with my son! It truly helps kids understand their uniqueness and that even if others don't understand it, that they should. I loved how the little girl found a kid with a unique name too so she didn't feel so alone. My son enjoyed the colors and illustration. He stated "The kids were mean, I am glad she found a kind friend!". Absolutely a win in my book!

This was a really sweet, and important book! I really enjoyed the overall message of being yourself no matter what, and not hiding who you are. I loved how the characters ended up being proud of themselves instead of embarrassed or ashamed. The beautiful pictures draw you in, and the story keeps you invested! My three year old loved it.

"We are all unique, inside and out. Live the colors of the rainbow, I began to feel bright."
