WoW!!! The Housemaid by Freida McFadden Narrated by: Lauryn Allman, was a audiobook I did not want to end.
Blimey! What a roller coaster ride this was! it had me sitting on the edge of my seat! I loved it Superb book!
This was one of the Best audiobooks I have listened to in a very long time. The narrator I was not sure of at the beginning then I loved her and she was excellent for this audiobook.
“Welcome to the family Millie,” Nina Winchester says as I shake her elegant, manicured hand, everything looks perfect around me, WoW, I've landed myself a perfect job Mille says to herself!.
Or has she?
Soon, Millie learns that the Winchesters’ have big secrets and are far more dangerous than her own. Everyday Millie cleans the Winchesters’ beautiful house from top to bottom. She collect's their daughter from school. Then, I cooks a delicious meal for the whole family before heading up to eat alone in my tiny room on the top floor........
Millie tries her hardest not to swear etc as Nina just trashed all her hard work cleaning the house and making it perfect for the Winchester's everyday and especially how Nina speaks to her and always puts her down. Millie knows she has to be careful and not upset Nina as she was lucky to find this job as a housemaid with a criminal record, that she has hidden from them.
Nina's husband is called Andrew and is very handsome, a perfect husband, Millie doesn't understand how he is still with Nina putting up her awful moods and personality etc! There must be a reason why he is still with her!? and its not because of the child! WOW!
Just brilliant and excellent book and audiobook!
I highly recommend this book especially as Freida is a new author to me as well she is a fantastic author.
I will be reading more of her books in the future. Big fat 5 stars from me
Big thank NetGalley, Bookouture and the author Frieda McFadden for my ARC of The Housemaid in exchange for an honest review.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this thriller. At first I was slightly frustrated by what appeared to be stereotypical ‘difficult’ or ‘crazy’ women, but was happy by how this was later confounded.
The characters are generally well drawn and the author switches sympathy between the two narrators with skill and dexterity. I would have liked a little more detail on Millie’s background but Nina is a fascinating character. Although I would question that being overweight immediately renders one inherently unattractive, this feels like a 2010 opinion! I thought that the audiobook worked well overall with a nuanced but a clear style but without resort to silly voices.
This is a thriller that pulls you in with subtly and keeps you locked in with some good twists and turns. It is occasionally predictable if one reads thrillers regularly but most are genuinely exciting.
This would make a terrific beach read!

Wow, what an amazingly creepy, twisty and shocking domestic psychological thriller this is! This is my first book that I have read by this author, but I loved the book so much that I will now look to read more of her work.
The audiobook narrator was fantastic and she kept the story alive by competently portraying suspense, fear, shock, and thrills galore.
Nina and Andrew hire a maid called Millie, to help them with their daughter and to help around the house. Millie has been in prison, and she has recently been sleeping in her car, so she is delighted to get a home to sleep in, and a new job to enjoy. However, Nina seems to be very crazy and demanding, and she is always putting Millie down and gaslighting her. Andrew and Millie form a close bond, which goes from strength to strength over the coming days. But how will this affect Nina?
Why is there a mysterious room in the attic which seems to be really creepy and stifling? What goes on there?
Why does Nina act so strange most of the time? Why is the hot italian gardener always hanging around outside, warning Millie about there being danger around her? Is Andrew all that he seems? Nina seems to have the perfect life with her rich husband, posh clothes and fancy house. But is she really living her best life, or does she have a lot of secrets that she is holding close to her heart? Is Millie really the sweet and cute girl she seems to be? So many questions, but what will the answers be? You will have to read the book to find out!
This is a fantastic book, which I highly recommend!
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you Bookouture and Netgalley for this Arc and Alc echange for an honest review.
It was a greeping but a little predictable story for me. When a woman come from jail she needs a job and she is so glad to get one without difficulties. She seems that some things are not usuall but she stays couse she need a place to stay as well. On the other hand we have her emplyee that is not an usual one. She behave strange. And while reading you want to know why she is like that. Who can help who and who is murdered and why, who is the murderer is just a point of view. Who would you trust?
