Thank you for letting me read Grandma’s Baby. I’m always interested in seeing what new children’s books are out there. I was immediately draw to the cover. I loved the story! The story featured a little boy and his grandma. It also showed his parents who are portrayed as different races. There were no names given. I definitely related to the story as a mixed race woman. The grandma definitely reminded me of my own grandma who would give me treats during church. She would use Vicks when I was sick, haha.

I found the book very age appropriate, wholesome and loving for children. There are only positive things about it. I definitely would recommend this to parents with small children or uncles and aunties.

Grandma's baby is a rhyming book about a boy and the things he enjoys doing with his grandmother. I could see this book being one that is enjoyed by a grandmother and grandchild at bedtime or as a gift from a grandmother for a grandchild to read when he misses her or that sort of thing. The writing is fairly simple, with about 2-4 sentences in rhyming couplets per page. I would recommend this book for families of children in the age 4-7 range.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book!

This book was so cute!! It's very important to show the relationship kids can have with their grandparents. Sometimes kids are being raised by their grandparents and they find representation in stories like these versus books about mom and dad.

I enjoyed reading this little boy's connection with his grandmother. It is beautiful that he cherishes her. I think we should all treat out grandparents with such passion. Unfortunately, some people won't have all the time to bond with their grandparents and it's important to make as many memories you can.

This is a very sweet ode to the love between grandmothers and grandchildren. There are lots of warm feelings here and celebrations of the quiet, everyday moments that make time with grandma special. The illustrations are lively and colorful, with lots of detail for kids to enjoy.

The story is told in verse and sometimes word choice and meter are sacrificed to make the rhyme, so proceed carefully if you're reading aloud as the tempo can change suddenly and sometimes the syntax is a bit non-traditional. As a heads-up, there are some church references, but it's not overly religious--I'd probably be OK using it in a public school classroom. This would made an excellent gift for grandma and sharing it could create lots of precious memories.

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!
