I’ll read anything by Cara - fast paced and clever. A great read for anyone who enjoys the genre. Keep up the good work

Cara Hunter’s books pull me in time after time with puzzling plots, short snappy changes in character viewpoint, and a fun multimedia format.

I thoroughly appreciated that this book had a list of the police characters and a snippet about each of them at the start. I’ve been reading since book 1, but this reminder was much needed thanks to my book befuddled brain. And even that synopsis was so fun and entertaining to read.

Even though this is book 6, I still feel like the series is going as strong as it started, I’m still hugely invested in the characters and the plot twists continue to grab me.

If you are looking for mystery and intrigue I don’t think you can go wrong with this book (or any of the DI Adam Fawley series really.)

Thanks to Netgalley and Viking Books UK for a copy of this book for review consideration, as always you get my honest option, no matter the source of the book.

This is book six in the series. This story is based on a true crime. I love the authors writing style using multi media format. The characters are written well. Plenty of twists and turns that I don’t see coming. A great series

A DI Fawley book rarely fails to disappoint. When a body is found in the house of an elderly couple there must be more to the story. It soon appears that the body belongs to their grandson who they believed died as a baby. The baby’s mother is currently serving life in prison for the crime.
With a puzzle to solve Fawley and his team get to work. Families and families with money always have skeletons in the closet and this family is no different.

I absolutely adore the DI Fawley series of books, and this was no different. Cara Hunter writes in such an engaging way, and she plays around with different styles and formats to create a really unique reading experience.

This book was heading down one route, and I was sure I knew what was going to happen, but the author loves to throw in curve balls!

A brilliant reading experience with a great plot and intriguing characters.

Another wonderful book to join a fabulous series, Cara Hunter is magical!! This is by far my favourite crime thriller series and not once has it let me down. 🥰
I love the variety of cases that DI Fawley and his team work on, they are very different from each other but so intriguing. I love the fact that every book isn't about a crazy serial killer, as I don't think it's very believable that the same team would get such bad luck so often, but the plot is so intriguing that I could not put it down. I love the different types of media Cara uses to tell the story, it keeps you engaged throughout and you never know what will come next. From transcripts of calls and Netflix documentaries to a floor plan of the crime scene and letters between characters, love it!
If you like thrillers then this series is a MUST
Thank me later 🧡

Great whodunnit - when an intruder is shot in a burglary gone wrong, a connection is found to a case that has long been solved. Or has it?

Hope to Die is another DI Fawley book that follows the same formula that is tried, tested and works! Well written with a storyline to keep you gripped and characters you start to care about. Although a part of a series, Hope to Die can be read as a standalone book.

As usual in my reviews, I will not rehash the plot or the publisher's blurb - there are other reviews like that out there already.

Having read several of Cara Hunter's previous novels, I was delighted to be invited to read this.

Although this is the sixth "D I Fawlley" novel, you could definitely read it as a standalone novel, as there's plenty of background information about the characters. I like the writing style - not just flat narrative, but featuring things like social media - which I always feel adds authenticity to the story because it's how life is nowadays.

This was an interesting read as it was full of twists and turns - a web of deceit waiting to be unravelled.

As usual, I am looking forward to reading more novels by Cara Hunter!

My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for an ARC. All opinions my own.

Police are dispatched to a remote farmhouse following an anonymous call from a member of the public who heard gunfire. Margaret and Richard Swann reside at the farmhouse.

When the police arrive and knock at the door,at first no one answers then the door is opened by pensioner Richard. In the kitchen they discover an intruder who has been shot dead by Richard.

Richard's wife backs up his story that an intruder had broken in downstairs and Richard shot him in self defence.

The story does not add up, why did the Swann's not call the police, the man has no I.D on him and how did he get to the remote farm? Was this a burglary gone wrong?

As the police investigate we discover the Swann's are indeed hiding a secret from their past and are not the bland couple they appear to be.

Another gripping and thrilling read by Cara Hunter.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thriller | 432 Pages
Publication Date: 1 November 2022

Hope to Die is another installment in the DI Adam Fawley series. This time we are called to an isolated farm outside of Oxford, a body shot at point blank range in the kitchen. From the outsider it looks like a burglary gone extremely wrong but DI Fawley suspects otherwise. This is when things get very interesting, they have found a connection to a high profile case that happened years ago.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one and I am looking forward to Cara’s books in the future. Being number 6 in the series I can strongly advise you can read this one as a standalone. Cara has placed a background of all the characters at the start of the book. It is definitely a handy reminder for us all if we haven’t picked up the series in awhile.

Read if you enjoy police procedural and a twisty read.

Thank you Netgalley and Penguin for sending me a gifted copy of this e-book for my honest book review.

Another belter from Cara Hunter!

If you haven't read this series yet then you must, especially if you love a good police procedural.

Once again I loved catching up with DI Fawley's team and some new faces too. I love how fast paced these stories are and how great the clues / investigating is all linked to perfection.

Excited to see what's next in this series.

DI Fawley is back, this time investigating a mysterious death at an isolated farmhouse. When they uncover links to an old case, things start to become interesting.

Hope to Die is Cara Hunter’s sixth novel featuring DI Fawley and once again, it’s a juicy crime to get your teeth into. Parts of the plot are loosely based on a true story from Australia, although more for inspiration than actual facts. There are times when it gets a little confusing, with sections written as Farley in the first person, then reverting to third person. Overall, though, it’s another good read from an engaging author.

I couldn't wait for this book to come out and it didn't disappoint. A continuation of the Adam Fawley series. It took a couple of chapters to get me into it but then I was hooked and stayed up to read the full book. Great Cara, keep the series coming

Of course another superb Adam Fawley book - I just love this series and it keeps getting better!

This book (#6) has a really twisty, involved plot that unfolds beautifully and yet terribly tragically, but we also learn so much more about Fawley and his team, and they are like a group old friends now. Despite their differences and ambitions, they are rock solid at solving the case.
