This was one of those cute little will they/won't they type of stories. I loved how it was told from two different perspectives - those of the two protagonists.

It was amusing and filled with fun characters and it was a great way to pass the time. It kept me guessing about how it would end, and I definitely enjoyed the story about JP and how it changed people's lives.

The narration was done well, and it worked perfectly with the two narrators - one for Nick and one for Ruby. Easy listening.

I love the way that Laura writes, this was a really fun, sexy story. I’m not usually a fan of audio books but this was really easy to follow and I found the characters interesting and enjoyed the journey they went on in this book.

Thank you NetGalley for my advance copy of this book. I am a fan of Laura Jane Williams writing so I was delighted to have an advance copy of this book.

I enjoyed this book and enjoyed the two perspectives of the story with two different narrators. I felt the book got off to a really good start and I was fully invested in the story, however I felt like I felt my attention drifting in the middle, but then it picked up again at the end. I’m a sucker for a ‘will they/won’t they’ storyline so this story was right up my street.

Even though I didn’t love every page of the story I did enjoy it as a whole and would recommend to others. Moreover, I will continue to read this authors books, I really like her writing style and her stories.

This is a pretty cute story. It’s one that should leave you with a smile on your face when you are finished with it.
Ruby is getting ready to leave London. She’s having a year just for her after a breakup. Lucky for her an exciting opportunity opened up in a new city just at the right time.
Nic is leaving his town and moving to London. He also suffered a bad break up and he is looking forward to seeing what exactly the big city life could be.
When Ruby and Nic cross paths in a chance meeting they are thrown together for just one night. Still, even though it should be a one night only thing they find that it’s clear that this could really be the start of something incredible. There is just that one little problem. He’s just arriving as she is just about to leave. So, will they really never see each other again or is something just starting for them?
This is a cute book. It’s got interesting dynamics between the different characters that really brings them to life. The situations that take place may be just a bit out there at times but even with that it could really happen so it’s easy to picture the story in your mind as it’s playing out. Will you be happy with the ending? Well, I can’t tell you that but you’ll find out when you read it!
If you like audio books, this one is fantastic. It has two narrators, one for Nic and one for Ruby, and it is absolutely fantastic. I really liked listen to this story. I definitely recommend it.

DNF at 18%.

I couldn't really get into the story, wasn't a fan of the way this story is written and found the characters to be insufferable.

This was a great audiobook for summer. I really enjoy Laura’s books. Her characters are always so relatable and fun. Recommend

I liked this, it was a cute romance of missed opportunities that Laura Jane Williams is oh so good at, I did find it slightly frustrating though.
The characters developed well, to the point that the choices they make (although infuriating) are much more grown up than when the story starts.
I enjoyed the dual narration of the audiobook and the accents for each character.
I felt that it left a little to be desired, I was slightly let down by the end and the way it wrapped up. It could have either explored it more, or left it completely alone, with them continuing to live their lives separately but succesfully and remembering their 'one that got away'. Although not a happy romance end, I feel that would have gone better with the point of individuality the author was making.
It was cute anyway and I mostly enjoyed it. I do feel the audio book kept me going, I think at points if I were reading myself I would have put it down and not picked it up again.

This is a quick enjoyable read. Right guy wrong time troupe.

The start was really strong but part way through it did lose its direction and got a bit confusing and muddled on the plot. It didnt ruin it completely but did result in enjoyment dropping for a while. If it wasnt for the narration i might not have kept going, glad i did.
The ending gave it some closure.

Its one i enjoyed reading, but unlikely i would reread or remember it in a few months as its wasnt a stand out wow for me unfortunately.

Thank you netgalley and the published for providing me with a copy for an honest review.

A quick and easy read that I found myself picking up after a long day to unwind. The characters are beautifully written and I came to love them within the first few pages and was rooting for them all the way to the end. At times I wanted to stop reading because I just wanted the experience to go on for longer.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

* listened to the eARC-audiobook*

Typical romcom, I couldn’t ever really find myself feeling the chemistry between the characters, the pace with slow with not much happening and constantly found myself bored. 5/5 for the narrator though, she was amazing to listen to, maybe the only reason I finished this book. Quite disappointing, the synopsis looked really good, this book just didn’t do anything for me.

Thank you NetGalley for this e-ARC

I absolutely loved One Night With You on audio. I would have loved reading the book however the narrators totally made it.
Perfect chick lit, loved all of the characters. A big fat 5 stars!

This was enjoyable and I loved the opening chapters. The characters really developed well and I had a good sense of who they were. It fell off a bit after the initial chapters when Ruby moved away and they were pining for each other.

I liked the main characters as a couple but had to suspend belief a bit.

Cute and funny at times with some deeper moments also.

Enjoyable.

Review of One Night With You by Laura Jane Williams

Overall this book was alright. I felt it started off well and interesting but then the story seemed to really drag towards the end. So much so that by the end I really didnt' care if the main characters got together or not. I had the audio version, which was read well and I liked the fact they used male and female voices for the main male and female leads.

This was such a lovely feel-good romance story! I was invested right from the beginning. It wasn't mentally taxing to read but was still quite fun and sexy. Would recommend!

One Night With You introduces us to Ruby and Nic. Ruby is leaving London to go to university in Manchester. Nic has just arrived in London, planning on starting a new life. Fate brings them together on Ruby's last night and Nic's first night in London. Sparks fly but obviously, they cannot have any kind of relationship. As the story progresses, we learn about Ruby's film-making education. While working on a documentary, she meets JP, a 97-year-old who is looking for his long-lost love. Ruby and her team use this opportunity to bring them together and create their final project for school, and it is a great success. Nic gets a surprise that changes the course of his life as well, and he ends up leaving London as well. Will these two ever get together?

I found this story really hard to get into. There was a lot of dialogue about one night stands, jumping into bed etc. at the beginning, that turned me off. I kept with it and as the story developed, it got more interesting. I liked seeing Ruby's and Nic's relationship develop into a strong friendship, despite the distance. The book was told from the POVs of Ruby and Nic, in alternating chapters, which gives us insight into both of their lives. There were a lot of characters and I found it difficult to keep track at times. The audiobook was narrated by Charlotte Beaumont and Arthur McBain. I do like when there are both male and female narrators as the main characters had definite voices, but the secondary characters all sounded quite similar, which made it difficult to keep track at times. Overall, this book is about fate, finding "the one", responsibility, friendship and following your dream. I don't think I was the right audience for this book.

This book didn’t do it for me. It’s objectively not a bad book, I just didn’t think it was very good either. I hate giving negative reviews so I just want to say that I have loved other books by Williams, this just fell a little flat. I felt like this book was trying to do too much, we have long distance, insta lust, long lost love, miscommunication, accidental pregnancy… the list goes on. With so much going on, none of the plot lines were fleshed out enough to make me feel anything. I didn’t feel any connection to these characters and I didn’t see any chemistry between them either. Ruby irritated me, her whole “year of me” vibe she had going on wasn’t cute. I enjoyed the side characters, JP and William, and their story line more than the main plot of the book. I did solely listen to this, so maybe if I’d read a physical copy I would feel differently.
