Always excited to pick up a book by K L Slater and Missing doesn't disappoint.

Right from the start, you know it will be a real page turner and you'll be intrigued. Once once you get into them, it's soooo hard to put them down, until you find out what's happened as there's so many twists and turns and the plot ticks over very nicely with K L Slater's usual suspenseful style of writing.

Josie's brother was killed 26 years ago by Samuel Barlow who was imprisoned for his murder - Now he's been released and Josie's daughter Ivy is missing. Is it a coincidence or has he taken/killed her.

I just want to add that the audio books for all of her titles are excellent and many are currently available on Audible, so well worth a listen as the narrators who read them are all brilliant and make her books very entertaining.

Thanks to Bookoutre and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review Missing.

If you are a fan of quick punchy thrillers with fantastic twists then you need to check out K L Slater's work.
This is another brilliant book from her. It's fast paced and very easy to read, I raced through it in a couple of sittings.
The plot is really well constructed and I definitely didn't see the twists coming.
Highly recommended.

A great, gripping page turner. I felt really invested in Josie and Ivy, and genuinely couldnt put the book down. Really great characterisation and story telling.

Would have been 5 stars but I had predicted a lot of what happened :)

Missing, by K. L. Slater. Oh my gosh. I absolutely loved this book! I did not see that coming in the end. I have to applaud the writer for their awesome talent of throwing in so many twist and turns that had me completely shocked.
While reading I was absolutely convinced that the story was going in the direction that I was sure about the villain. Nope! When the next chapter came into play I had to knock down my house of cards, and rethink what the writer was hinting at me. The story without a doubt is the most suspenseful entertainment for me to have read so far. I was engaged with the characters.
I thought that they all were completely believable. Ivy, who had only a few words to contribute was a Princess, but it was mom who was phenomenal. Of course this book covered so much realism that had me second guessing all the people that I have around me. To the writer, this was some brilliant writing and I look forward to your next book. I give this book two snaps and a, one, two she’s coming for you.
Three, four Maggie’s at the door. Ruuuunnnnnn! Until next time my fellow readers… read on!

Another twisty, turny suspense from K. L. Slater, the queen of suspense. While this wasn't my favorite from her, I enjoyed Josie's story and was drawn into both her past and present storylines and couldn't wait to find out what was going to happen to her daughter.

As always, K. L. Slater knows how to turn my stomach to knots!

Thanks to Bookouture for the arc via NetGallley.

Josie had a troubled childhood. Her mother had no time for her, her baby brother was all she was interested in. Josie spent a lot of time with the Barlow's, Maggie gave her the love she didn't get at home & Samuel was her best friend. Josie adored young Jimmy but Samuel was jealous & when Jimmy went missing & was eventually found dead in a refrigeration room he was the prime suspect & eventually given a long prison sentence. Over the years Josie has married & separated & has a daughter, Ivy, who is the light of her life. When Samuel is released Josie is sure Samuel will want revenge & when Ivy goes missing there is no doubt in her mind that Samuel is to blame. As Maggie lied for him before she is sure she knows something now- but will she help?

This was a real page turner as I wanted Josie to get her daughter back, in spite of the fact I wasn't terribly drawn to her as a character. As I've come to expect from K.L. Slater there were plenty of surprises- I'm still trying to get over the finale! Thanks to Netgalley & the publisher for letting me read & review this book.

I loved this book.
I was so compelled by the story, I couldn't stop reading. This is my favourite Slater book so far. The plot was so fast, with twists to keep me reading, and constantly thinking about. I loved the characters, but the plot was what I will remember more. I had to know what was happening throughout, and that ending will stay with me for a while to come!

If you are a fan of K.L.Slater, you will love this latest read! Filled cover-to-cover with her unique writing style that grips authors from the beginning and absorbs you into the character's world from the first chapter, right up until the last page.

Josie is a great leading character; her intense emotions are articulated perfectly through this author’s writing. I felt like I was there beside her, as her anguish to find her daughter increased and became a powerful part of the plot.

A psychological thriller that I found difficult to put down, I finished this within 24 hours. The fast-paced, exciting, and twisted plot gives the reader various elements to consider, but it is not until the last couple of chapters that the shocking conclusion is revealed, and Slater pulls it all together. I did not see the finale coming at all, which I found especially exciting, and I am glad that all the loose ends were tied up. There is nothing worse, in my opinion than ending a read with unanswered questions.

K.L.Slater deals with sensitive issues flawlessly, and I cannot fault this read. A five-star read for fans of this genre or author. Highly recommend reading it!

Josie Bennet’s brother is killed years ago, and the day finally arrives when the person convicted of his murder is released from prison. When Josie’s daughter goes missing just days later, she is sure that her brother’s killer is responsible.

This is the first book of K. L. Slater’s that I have read, but it will not be my last. I enjoyed the twists throughout, never knowing what would happen next.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own. Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for allowing me to read this novel. #NetGalley #Bookouture

I always enjoy K L Slater's books and this one was no exception. I was reeled in straight away!

This tells the story of Josie and her daughter, Ivy. Josie has had a troubled childhood and tragically, her younger brother was murdered when she was just 13. Samuel Barlow, the man responsible, has served a 25 year sentence for his crime, but is now due for early release. Only days after, Josie's daughter goes missing....

I loved the underlying menace conveyed throughout the story and found the characters realistic and well drawn. I especially empathised with Josie and her terror and despair at finding her daughter missing. There are twists and turns aplenty leaving you not knowing who to trust or believe. The final twist was completely unexpected!

If you've read any of K L Slater's books before, you'll love this. And if you haven't, what are you waiting for!

Thanks to author K L Slater, publishers Bookouture and Net Galley for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.

The Missing by K.L. Slater.

I am a fan of anything K.L Slater writes and this did not disappoint. This is a dark, gritty thriller which instantly grabs your attention. Child abduction is the worst fear of any parent. This book constantly keeps your heart rate elevated. The mums distress is so well written within this plot, you really felt her agony. K.L Slater has the ability to keep you guessing throughout but never leaves any stone unturned. A fantastic read.

Another great read by this author. As a mother, books about children missing hit hard. This was no exception, told so well you could feel the fear and angst her mother felt. This book flowed really well and captured my interest until the last page. A rollercoaster of twists and turns. The end holds a twist that will leave your jaw hanging.

I usually enjoy KL slaters novels I have been given from netgalley, however, this one missed the mark for me. The characters were all under developed and two dimensional. There was nothing alluring or special about them.
The plot was lacking something, it just didn’t have the same punch as usual novels.
