K L Slater is at her most chilling with her latest nerve-twisting thriller, Missing.

As children, Josie and Samuel had lived next door to each other. They were the best of friends and were completely inseparable. However, Samuel hated sharing his friend with anyone – not even with her baby brother, Jimmy. Samuel’s jealousy had driven him to desperate heights and one fateful night he had succeeded in getting rid of Josie’s adored baby brother for good. Josie has never forgotten such a heart-breaking loss, but with Samuel locked up, she thought that he couldn’t hurt her anymore. But Samuel is now free and he still hasn’t managed to get over his obsession with Josie. And he still doesn’t like sharing her – not even with her baby daughter.

Josie’s heart stops when she goes to check on her daughter in her cot and finds her gone. She is naturally inconsolable and knows that Samuel is responsible for this. Josie is desperate to find her daughter – especially as she knows that Samuel blames her for ruining his life and will go to any lengths to wreak his revenge.

When Samuel’s mother knocks on her door and tells Josie she can help her find her daughter, Josie cannot help but be wary. His mother is the last person in the world she should trust, but desperate to find her daughter, Josie is left with no other choice. Will Josie ever be reunited with her child? Or does Samuel’s mother know something about what really happened years ago that could keep a mother from her child…forever!

My heart was in my throat the whole time I was reading K L Slater’s Missing! A hair-raising roller-coaster ride that kept me on the edge of my seat throughout, a mother’s worst nightmare is brought to stark and chilling life in K L Slater’s latest page-turner. A creepy, claustrophobic and twisted tale about a mother’s love, desperate revenge and unspeakable evil, Missing brilliantly ratchets up the tension and will leave readers reeling from shock after shock.

An unmissable thriller that delivers the goods, K L Slater does not disappoint with her latest novel, Missing.

An interesting read, not an absolute favorite, was not an “I can’t put this down” but drawn in enough to finish. I’ll have to read more of this author. Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for this ARC opportunity!

This book is exactly why I love K L Slater! It starts off with the apparent murder of little Jimmy - and then jumps to the present when Josies daughter goes missing! My suspicions were all over the place - not sure whether I was coming or going - but it kept me guessing to the end! Really well written and just as enjoyable as all her others! Loved it!!

A great thriller of a read with an amazing and unexpected ending.

Josie had a troubled childhood and her mother had treated her and her little brother Jimmy very differently. Although they were both neglected Jimmy was the favourite and Josie was sent out to play, staying hungry. Josie was taken under the wing of a neighbour who she felt at home with, despite her son seeming cold and strange. When Josies brother Jimmy is found dead her life changes forever.

Set in the time of Jimmy’s death and are later when Josie is a young mother the story is well told and suspenseful. When history seems to be repeating itself and Josies daughter disappears can the same person be responsible?

Recommend this book as a good pacy thriller with lots of unexpected twists and interesting side plots.

Thanks to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

A good thriller but unfortunately this was probably my least favourite of any of Ms Slaters books that I have read previously. The story is good but tends to be a bit too slow paced.

I received this arc through netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was delighted to receive the latest book by K.L. Slater as I had enjoyed the previous ones. This was no exception and din't disappoint.

I didn't guess the twist right at the end and this book kept me hooked wanting to continue reading to reach the end.

I would highly recommend this book.

Yet again Slater has delivered a fast-paced, adrenaline fuelled thriller and 'Missing' really left me on the edge of my seat. Slater writes this between multiple time periods and this helped the reader gain a sense of understanding as to what might have happened. As the book progresses, Slater tantalisingly reveals more and more and manages to leave you wanting more as well.
As well as being exciting, this is an emotional thriller with some very hard hitting subjects included. As always, Slater writes these as sensitively as possible and the characters do the plot justice. I found myself completely immersed whilst reading this and I could not wait for the truth to be revealed. Be prepared for shocks, Slater manages to throw in a lot of twists along the way.
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for an advance copy.

Missing by K. L. Slater was a great holiday read. I was hooked from the beginning till the end. She never disappoints me every book I have read I have been gripped from the beginning till the end and this one was just the same. Hence Kim is one of my favourite author's out there.

The Narrated by: Kristin Atherton was excellent as well.

I highly recommend this latest book and all of Kim's books. They are always great and a 5 star read.

Big Thank you to Bookouture and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own.

The chilling opening really set the tone and sucked me in quickly.

I love the stories by this author and this was no exception. Interesting premise and the execution was spot on. There were plenty of twists and red herrings, jam packed.

I’m late to the game reviewing this one so I won’t ramble on but highly recommend this author/story and look forward to her next.

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and Bookouture for a copy in exchange for a review.

I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. I felt like this book was going so strong and then the ending was just okay for me. Not the typical "what did I just read"?
Josie's little brother,Jimmy, was found dead in an abandoned building inside a refrigerated unit after he was discovered missing. Her neighbor,Samuel, was convicted of the crime and went to jail and his mom, Maggie, also served time for lying for Samuel. Josie grew up in a very emotion abusive relationship with her mom which was so heartbreaking.
Fast forward to Josie having a daughter of her own, Ivy. When Josie gets a call saying that Samuel was released from prison and her daughter goes missing a few days later, she knows who is involved. Definitely some surprises and it is a good read but I guess I was looking for more of a thrilling ending.

Painful writing. This is the second KL Slater book I've read and I am disappointed. No suspense created whatsoever. 3 stars out of fairness since I DNFed it.

I was really intrigued by the premise of this book and all the twists helped to keep me turning the pages. I wasn’t a huge fan of the end twist as it didn’t make much sense to me but I still enjoyed the book.

A horrible crime defines Josie's life. When her daughter goes missing, she is convinced nobody could have taken her but Samuel who tormented her past and haunted her present.
A fast paced, full of unexpected twists thriller.

K L Slater is one of my favorite psychological thriller authors. Every one of her books is full of suspense & twists and Missing is exactly that! I cannot say enough good things. I love the way the book is told and the entire time I was at the edge of my seat! I will be telling everyone about this book!

I love K L Slater and always relish the release of her latest book , this was no exception . I raced through this is one sitting and as usual it was fast paced , entertaining with lots of suspects and red herrings to keep us interested and entertained . Josie has never recovered from losing her little brother when she was young , the man accused of his murder is soon to be released and she can't believe it , she knows he wants revenge and blames her for his being in prison all these years , when Ivy her daughter goes missing she knows that he has something to do with it and she will not stop until she proves it , unexpected help comes from the most surprising of people and she realises she must trust others if she is ever going to get Ivy back . A great read as usual and no surprise 5 stars

Josie is a divorced mom who works very hard to keep her Cafe, Delicious Desserts running in order to support herself and her daughter, Ivy. As soon as Josie finds out that the man who killed her brother when she was a child is being released early from prison, she is overwhelmed with anxiety. Then Ivy goes missing and Josie is positive that the man who killed her brother all those years ago has stolen her daughter as revenge for her testimony that helped put him away. Sounds simple and straightforward but the story is anything but simple. This was a very good read.

Another brilliant read from K L Slater. With all of her novels there are numerous twists and turns which keep the read engaging and enthralling.

Josie is a single parent who has a difficult past. This comes to the forefront when her daughter, Ivy, is kidnapped from the child minder’s back yard without a trace.

Josie is convinced that Samuel Barlow is guilty as he was convicted of the murder of Josie’s brother 25 years before and has recently been released from prison.

Thank you to Bookouture, Netgalley and K.L. Slater for my ARC in return for my honest review. Highly recommended.
