Ahhhh I loved this book what a brilliant read from K.L Slater I love her books and am never disappointed by them and this one was no different. Once I started it I honestly didn’t want to put it down.

Josie is a single mum to Ivy and runs her own business she has a full and pretty hectic lifestyle by anyones standards; however her world is turned upside down when Samuel is released early from prison after abducting and murdering her brother. Six days after his release Ivy goes missing and Josie is convinced that Samuel has taken her daughter and she will stop at nothing to get her back.

I really loved Josie’s character she is a mother who wants what is best for her daughter. Josie also had a difficult upbringing and growing up her life wasn’t the perfect childhood she had hoped for. Josie also has a deep secret she wants to keep hidden but there is someone out there who knows josie’s secret and once one thing is discovered a whole Pandora’s box of secrets, lies and truths are uncovered. This book really did have it all.

This author certainly knows how to write a good thriller with plenty of twists.
This book concentrates on a missing child which is always gut churning in its terror. It definitely goes off in directions I wasn't expecting and there is plenty of tension. I found the first part of the book a bit strange though, when the child goes missing the timeline seems all wrong. So much seems to happen within one night that it didn't ring true, also people travelling miles back and forward all within the first day. However once I got over that part I did enjoy it and I would always read more from this author.

I love K.L Slaters books and this one is no exception. Missing is set very close to where I live which I think only added to my enjoyment of the story. It was fast paced with plenty of twists and turns that kept me gripped all the way through. I highly recommend Missing.

I’m a big KL Slater fan and she never disappoints. Her plots are always interesting and twisty 😜. Your thrown straight into the story and then you fast forward 26 years. Told in the past and present which I always like as it really gives you an insight into the story and characters but from different ends. Moved at a steady pace and I was gripped from the beginning. Some likeable and some really unlikeable characters. Definitely one that keeps you thinking where the story is going with twists and turns to beat the band. Really enjoyed it.

Anyone who knows me, knows that my favourite author is K.L. Slater. She’s the one when asked I will always recommend. So I was over the moon when I got hold of an ARC of her latest book Missing. Not only set in Nottingham but in my home town of Hucknall.
Josie is a struggling single mum. Trying to get a business of the ground to give her and her daughter Ivy a better life. Ivy’s father Terry is suffering with his own demons and not the perfect father.
Josie also has a past. Her younger brother Jimmy was murdered years back by Samuel Barlow. He was locked in a disused refrigerator and left to die. Now nearly 30 years later Barlow is due for release. Josie is in fear for herself and her daughter. Then her nightmares begin Ivy is kidnapped from her childminders garden. Surely it’s Barlow.!!
Unfortunately I just didn’t connect with the characters. The book felt like. Hard slog to get through. Little things annoyed me. Like the description of how far away places were from each other. Perhaps it’s because i know the area. But to me it felt like it was just padding out the story.
Anyone new to KL slater will probably love the book. To me she’s written far outstanding books than this one.

WOW! What a great twisty book. I really loved the build up and right when I thought it would slow down…BOOM another twist!

I thought the intertwining of Jimmy, the boy that went missing and was killed by Samuel, and Josie the older sister of Jimmy whose daughter was kidnapped was weaved in a way that was believable and kept your interest. It really makes you mistrust who is in your circle and the different POV made it the story keep moving ahead at a great pace. I would highly recommend this!

Been a fan of K.L Slater for many books now and I always find it easy to connect with her writing and this one followed the trend.

The plot in this one was relentless there was plenty going on to keep up the tension and suspense and the twist at the end I wasn't expecting that!

Today I’m on the Tour for Missing by KL Slater. At the start of the book we meet Jimmy, his sister Josie and their next door neighbour Samuel. Jimmy and Josie are best friends but Josie has caught the attention of their next door neighbour Samuel, a feeling that isn’t reciprocated. It isn’t long before Jimmy isn’t around any more and Samuel is serving time for his murder (not a spoiler – this is in the synopsis).

We then pick up the story 26 years later, Josie has made a life for herself and her daughter running a cafe in a town about 10 miles away. From here the story is told from multiple versions; Samuel’s and his mum Muriel’s, and primarily Josie’s.

There are a number of twists in here, some I saw coming, some were a complete shock. It was really fast paced, there was always something happening with no pause to get your breath back.

This is a book about facing up to your past, owning your actions and having the strength to say what you thought you wanted may not actually be what is best for you.

This is another gripping thriller from K.L. Slater.
This one will have your heart racing as the hunt for Josie’s little girl, Ivy, gets underway.
Josie immediately suspects Samuel, who has just been released from prison after being charged with killing Josie’s brother 25 years before.
The Police struggle to find Ivy and Josie becomes more and more distraught.
There’s lots of people with secrets in this book and a few twists and turns in store for the reader.
A brilliant book that will definitely have you hooked from the first few pages.

once again, i am sad i did not love this author. i have heard the hype, and i wanted to be a fan. it is hard for me to pinpoint why i did not love this book, but i do not think this author is for me. there was a lot of povs to keep up with, something that i can be a fan of if done in the right way. the reason this bothered me was because they would go to first and then third. it would be confusing, and i had a hard time keeping up. also some of the characters were just off putting, and there was no way for me to like maggie because she was just a creepy stalker to me? i just really struggled with this book. i had to start it twice, and it was still tough for me to get through all. the way. like i stated, i did want to like this author like so many people have... perhaps i just need to keep trying since sometimes that does happen where i find a book i like. this book would work awesome for fans of psych thrillers, those who like mutiple povs in books, and fans of family secrets.

Another great Slater thriller. Even better than the last. Fast paced, twisty as all out. Loved it. Can’t wait for the next one!

This was another great thriller that I've recently found. KL Slater definitely goes into my authors to keep an eye out for list. Her writing is brilliant and the book is so fast paced while also not compromising on the plot.
A great read overall.

I am a fan of K L Slater so I was super excited when I got an ARC of this!!!

It had me pulled in from the beginning and I was gripped until the end! It was fast paced and the twists just kept on coming.

The book is done over different timelines and POVs which are easy to follow.

This wasn't my favourite book I've read by K L Slater it didn't blow me away like some of her other books have. Overall I did enjoy it and would recommend it.

Yet another great physiological thriller from Kim Slater,and what she does best is ramp up the tension and leaves you wondering just who is the main perpetrator is.Josie has a little girl Ivy by her ex husband,and she owns a cafe which she works hard at sometimes to the detriment of Ivy and she also has carried a loss with her for a long time when her brother Jimmy was murdered in 1993,i can’t really go into any more detail without giving the plot away,but suffice to say this is another great read from Kim Slater which she excels in,
,and I can’t praise her books highly enough.Another brilliant 5 star read from K L Slater.

I really like this author, but for me, this book fell flat. It was good, fine, adequate, etc., but it didn’t blow me away like some of their other books did. Even with an ending I didn’t see coming, I just found this to be a very average mystery/thriller.

Josie is our protagonist, and she’s kind of an annoying character. I felt for her though, as her little brother was killed when they were children, and the man convicted of the murder is about to be released from prison. With a young child of her own, she’s worried this man will find her and continue the torture he began almost 25 years prior.

To go more into the plot would be fruitless - there are some spoilers, there were a few twists, but for some reason it just didn’t hit very hard. It was well-written, but seemed to be missing that element a book needs to make it a true page-turner.

The ending was unpredictable (to me), but as I said, it just kind of made me shrug my shoulders. It should have been more shocking, but it wasn’t. I see many of my Goodreads friends also gave this 3.5 stars, and I think that’s the perfect rating. It was a decent book by a good writer; it just didn’t blow my mind. Maybe it will blow yours, though!

I haven’t read many of this authors books but I really enjoyed this one. The storyline has one main suspect but has many twists and turns along the way. I was gripped from the start and I didn’t guess the ending so wasn’t too predictable which is good. I recommend this book and will definitely look to read more by this author.

I’d like to thank Bookouture and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘Missing’ written by K L Slater in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Josie is mum to eight-year-old Ivy and when Ivy is abducted from the childminder’s garden Josie immediately blames Samuel Barlow who’s just been released from prison after twenty-five years for killing Josie’s brother Jimmy. Samuel’s mother Maggie says she can help Josie find Ivy but that means putting her trust in a woman who lied to keep her son out of prison.

I love reading K L Slater’s books as I can always be sure of an exciting, gripping and intriguing roller-coaster of a story and ‘Missing’ hasn’t disappointed me. The plot becomes tense as the timespan progresses from 1993 when Jimmy dies to the present time of 2019, and together with lots of twists and turns turning it into a tangled puzzle, I was so involved I couldn’t stop reading. Despite being slightly disappointed by the ending which although unexpected wasn’t as exciting as I’d hoped for, it’s still an excellent story by one of my favourite authors. It’s been well-written with excellent characterisations and chilling twists, and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

I felt this could have been better. I liked the book overall. I felt the pace could have been better. Characters could be a little more fleshed out. Otherwise, it was a good book.

Everything is okay until her brothers killer who was someone she grew up with is released from prison. Her daughter Ivy then goes missing and she fears history is repeating itself.
The twists on this story were extremely clever and had my mind working overtime.
