So this is a dark erotic romance where the main character is grumpy is misunderstood and the female is very outgoing which I think is really fun, but I think it’s definitely over done but it is done really well in this book and there was a lot of sexy scenes, which I think was really good, but I think generally I am falling out of erotic romance is at the moment as I just not hitting the weather like used to so I think this could be that it’s really good but it could be that I’m just falling out of that genre of book currently

It was good. It was one of those books that took me a day to read. It was a good romance with a little bit of spice. But it was also one of those books that once I was done, I got on with the next book. There wasn't any pining over characters or any "How could you break me like this" 's. It just wasn't really memorable. But it's good if you want something to pass the time.

This is my first time reading this author. As I am prone to reading mafia-style romances I thought I would give this a try. Callum heir to the Boston Irish Mafia and Haley a vet with PTSD that she deals with by drinking. Apart they have their own inner demons that they are dealing with, however together they are able to be the yin to the other's yang. All in all not a bad read. 3.5 stars

This was an ARC for my honest review.

At first, I found this a little hard to get into. The writing style was just not doing it for me. I sat it down several times, but as the story went on I found I was pulled in. I truly enjoyed it.
I think the story and characters have great potential for wonderful series.
It was somewhat vague in character development but really I found them to be just enough. Like I said as I stuck with it, it got better and began to flow.
I'll definitely check out more by this author.
I hated the epilogue... not what I was expecting at all. What in the cliff hanger is that about?

This author is new to me, so I had no expectations when I first started this book, and am i glad that I did become aware of them. This is because I feel as though I could absolutely come back and read more of their work when the mood strikes, and while I was not in love with the book, I think that there were good parts to it. These things include; some of the plot, the background of the characters and a large proportion of the pace of the book.

One of the flaws with this book, I feel is some of the plot felt unnecessary for the projection of the book, and had it been removed, there would have been nothing taken away from the book. However, this wasn't a major flaw and so could be easily overlooked.

The ending of the book did feel slightly rushed compared to the rest of the book, but then again, this is nothing that takes a lot away from the book.

Overall I pleasantly enjoy this book to pass time and will be back to read more of the author's work.

This book started of great! i was intrigued with the plot and the characters seemed very interesting and complex too. everything was going well... until the 40% mark.
it just went downhill from there. there were so many plot holes(nothing major) but still they annoyed me! some things were told differently but a few pages later, it would be an entirely different thing!
it was also a little longer than it needed to be.

Haley's character was great! it really was! she had an amazing character arc and started taking care of herself too!
Callum was obsessed with her since he the moment he laid eyes on haley and i LOVED IT!!
their relationship was so cute and callum was so patient with her GAHH so sweet!

Don’t have much to say about this one - it just wasn’t my favorite. I wanted to like it but didn’t. The characters were boring stereotypes that I try to avoid. I want a personal character rather than a cardboard cutout.

This book had an interesting plot but I really didn’t connect with the characters as much as I was hoping to. It was very fast paced but the dialog failed to carry the story

I wasn't sure how I was going to like this book when I read the synopsis. Normally when women are described as having baggage in books, it tends to lead to a story that is more gloom than uplifting. But this book was better than I thought Hayley has baggage, but she's actually very strong in how she deals with it. I appreciated her character and the way she handled herself throughout the story. Cal was a great match for Hayley, and surprisingly didn't clash as I expected.

Did I realise that I love sexy violent mafia erotic romances before I requested this on a whim? No. Do I now? Apparently. Great storyline, appropriately spicy!

Haley is a doctor at a Boston Hospital. She is also an Army veteran who is suffering from PTSD and panic attacks. She goes to a bar for a group of ex-soldiers she served with for a birthday party. Usually, she moves around in her comfort zone within walking distance from her home. While at the bar she notices a man and though she is attracted to him she knows there is violence around. She finds out that he is the next in line for the head of the Irish Mob in Boston. As much as she wants to stay away, she can’t and both are drawn to each other.
Callum who wants to show his father he is ready to take over the mob also is trying to protect Haley from a stalker she has. He won’t be able to do both ones will suffer, and Hailey is already having enough problems dealing with different things in her life and her past. Which one will suffer from Callum’s overbearing? A really good and suspenseful book that will keep you on edge from the beginning to the end. Each character is strong and has a reason to be in the story but I like Hailey’s when you read the book you will find out. A very good book and a must-read.

This book was fantastic - especially if you like mafia romances. Haley and Callum were great together. Haley used alcohol to escape her brutal past but everything changes when she meets Callum - who is being groomed to make over as Mafia boss. The connection between these two were great. I would highly recommend. I

This is the first book of A.N. Stauber's I've read. Was a good choice. It is a very action packed read and has decent characters that you can get into and want to know more about.
This Mafia Romance is based in Boston and around the Irish Mafia Family of the Murphy's.
There is so much going on in this story and throws us right into action from the start.
Callum is the oldest and Heir to their familys business. He's a no bullshit, don't test me,
strong, confident and vengeful man. He'll torture someone 7000 different ways and make them beg for death if they mess with his family or their business. He takes no shit and is a unapologetic player of women's hearts. He has no time for a relationship and doesn't care for one either. He gets what he needs and leaves and doesn't lead the women on just tells em how it is. Until She walks into his life.
Haley is a tough woman. She's been through hell and back again more times than most and has survived each and every time. Not without scars, physical or mental. She a Doctor and is in the business of saving lives. She's not like most women. She's tough on the surface and shows no weakness to others unless they're her closest friends, or brothers in arms.
She served with Callums brother and that's how they meet. Callum is hypnotized by her beauty and is on a mission to have her no matter the warning his Brother gives him.
He pursues her with a passion and finds out some of her traumatic secrets of her past. He's determined to help her heal and protect her. When he finds out she has a stalking his protective instincts kick into Overdrive.
They for a tense but fierce connection and so we see just how far He'll go to help her heal and keep her safe. He's her Vengeful King and he's determined tonhave her as his Queen.

Haley wants to move forward from her past and drink away the nightmares, but Callum wants to slay all her demons. This romance has a hotness level of 7 and romance level 0f 6. I wish we would have had an ending in the epilogue. I look forward to seeing was happens with Callum and Haley in the next book.

This book was so good and kept me completely hooked; I finished it in one sitting! The characters were fantastic and I loved that Haley was a strong and independent woman who fought for herself in more ways than one. Even so, I love a good “touch her and you die” trope. I appreciated the way that her trauma was handled and worked through. It was the perfect combination of spice, danger, and romance with a great cast of characters that I would love to learn more about and follow in future books.
