As a detective or a police officer in general, you always have to keep an open mind and work with fact and witnesses. It does not matter whether you like or dislike the suspects or people coming forward, it’s what can be proven that counts.

That’s what Amanda does too, until one of the persons of interest is someone she knew very well. She knows she has to keep an open mind at all times, but it’s only human she wants to give them the benefit of the doubt. She knows she sometimes gives them to much leeway and she can always count on her partner to make her realise that even though deep down she knows it.

They have a range of suspects to pick from, but there is always something that does not add up which sends them back to the drawing board and forces them to dig deeper still. Until suddenly there is that break through and all the pieces of the puzzle fit.

Sometimes people make decisions and they are convinced they were the right ones. But when you look back are you still convinced they were the best ones or should/could you have taken other things into consideration?

I loved this book, but I have to say I had this person on my radar very early on.

Another fantastic story in this series starring this tough detective with a heart of gold.  5 stars

Thank you
