I'm in my country era after watching Yellowstone so wanted to try a country romance but this was more treasure hunt and less romance. It was ok but will I remember this time next year, no.

As lifelong Romancing the Stone and Mummy fan, I think my expectations were just way too high with this one. The romance felt underdeveloped and like it came out of nowhere, despite these two having a past.

another wonderful book from christina lauren. They are such an iconic writing duo and never fail to hit the mark with books that keep me up well past bed time.

Second-chance romances have never been my favourite genre, and this book has reinforced that perspective for me. I found it challenging to identify genuine chemistry between the main characters, Lily and Leo. Enhancing their dynamic could have significantly improved my investment in their relationship, as their interactions felt flat and lacked the tension and excitement I was hoping for.
I also noticed a reduction in the number of intimate scenes compared to what I typically enjoy in Christina Lauren's previous works. Including more of these moments could add essential depth and intensity to the narrative, which I felt was missing this time.
While I appreciate the authors' growth and their willingness to explore new directions, I missed the elements that initially drew me to their writing. I'm optimistic about Christina Lauren's future projects and believe that returning to some of the engaging qualities I love could resonate well with both new and loyal readers.

Another amazing book from the extraordinary duo, Christina and Lauren! We’ve come to expect great stories from them, and once again, they didn’t disappoint. Perfect for summer reading, this story is light and sexy, filled with witty banter and a thrilling adventure set in the heat of the desert.
I had so much fun reading Lily and Leo’s second-chance romance. Although I don’t typically gravitate toward this trope, it was executed masterfully here, leaving me with no complaints. Leo falls first, and he falls hard!
The balance between adventure and romance was spot-on. With so much happening in the adventure plot, the sweet and easy romance—with no third-act breakup—was exactly what the story needed. The narrative alternates between Lily, who is strong, independent, and caring, and Leo, who is charming, romantic, and an incredibly smart code breaker. The lovable cast of characters, combined with a fast-paced adventure and a dash of mystery, makes this book a winner for me!

This wasn't my favourite CLo and in fact I put it down a number of times before I finished it.
Whilst I liked the premise of the story and the 'adventure' aspect as a nice change of pace, I was also a little bored and felt like the adventure took over from the romance at times. Overall it was fine and I had a good enough time reading it, but I can't imagine ever rereading it.
It felt like a departure from some of their earlier books (much like The Honey Don't List and Twice in a Blue Moon did too), but as I've read pretty much everything they've written I won't give up on them, I'm just a bit disappointed.

I love a romance and this was perfection! These authors have become a firm avourite of mine! A great well written book with great chemistry

A great romance book, I really enjoyed the tropes and found myself rooting for the couple! Thank you net galley for the review copy!

The perfect Beach read!
I couldn’t put this down, it’s a fantastic story full of twists turns and is a little ball of sunshine

Christina Lauren write only works of art and this is exactly that I just love how they tell a story and you can’t even tell that it is a duo of authors it’s crazy

Classic Christina Lauren feel good book. I love their writing and will read anything they write from here on out. Loved the plot for this one.

I really enjoyed The Unhoneymooners by this author and expected a similar genre. I was wrong, this was a fantastic thrill of a story. It has all of the emotions covered.
Loved it!

Cowboys, adventure, a treasure hunt, some nutcases, some peril, and a possible rekindling of lost love - what more could a girl want from a book.
And this book hits all of those notes and more. I couldn;t devour the pages fast enough, I was enjoying it that much.
From the first few pages I was utterly absorbed in this story, with Lily who is kickass female lead, and an inspiring heroine.
I loved the various puzzles in the book, and the descriptions of the terrain as the tour progressed.
I felt as thought I was alongside the characters as they seeked the ultimate prize.
How brilliant!
Thank you to Piatkus and Netgalley for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

If you're looking for a book that will take you on a wild and adventurous ride with a touch of romance, then Something Wilder by Christina Lauren is the perfect choice. This charming and entertaining novel follows the story of Lily, a woman who makes ends meet by guiding tourists on fake treasure hunts in Utah using her father's hand-drawn maps. However, her life takes an unexpected turn when her former love Leo, along with his friends, shows up for a real treasure hunt.
The plot of Something Wilder is full of twists and turns that keep the reader hooked and entertained from beginning to end. As the group embarks on a dangerous and hilarious adventure in the Canyonlands, Lily and Leo must confront their past and decide whether to risk their lives and hearts for each other. The chemistry between them is palpable, and the authors have done an excellent job of developing their characters, making them relatable and realistic.
One of the most notable aspects of the book is the authors' ability to weave together a story of adventure, second chances, and true love in a way that is heartwarming and uplifting. As a reader, you can't help but feel satisfied and happy with the way the story unfolds. The writing style is engaging, and the pacing is just right, making it a page-turner that you won't be able to put down.
Overall, Something Wilder is a delightful and heartwarming read that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun and romantic escape. The book is not only entertaining but also thought-provoking, making it a must-read for anyone who loves a good adventure story with a touch of romance. So, grab a copy and get ready to be whisked away on an unforgettable journey.

Another brilliant book by one of my favourite romance authors!! Christina Lauren does it again. A great book to read for the summer, if you are in the mood for a fun second-chance romance book.

In this story we follow Lily, who is in charge of wilderness tours, has lost her father and just doesn't really know what to do with her life.
We also meet Leo, who just wants to be with his first love and be happy, so what happens when Leo's friends organise a wilderness tour with Lily not knowing who she is?
it's funny, it's comedic, it's romantic, it's surprising with its twists and turns.
I loved the characters, I loved the writing, I loved the plot, this is a book I have been recommending to everyone who asks for a book recommendation since I've read this story.

This is classed as a romance book, but it is also a mystery/thriller/adventure book too.
I enjoyed the story, which is about a woman called Lily who is reunited with her old love Leo on a wilderness vacation. They are doing some treasure hunting, which takes a turn that is different from what they were expecting. I enjoyed reading about their relationship together, and their journey.
The story is fast paced and adventurous, with a lot of action, which I liked. Highly recommended!
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.

A romance adventure that I fell in love with quickly. It's a second chance love story with a very wild plot. The guy falls first! And he falls hard. I loved everything this book was serving and ate it up.

A perfect example of CLs best work! I will never not love the fun, love and funny writing that these ladies create! I really enjoyed the plot !

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read this advanced copy of the book.
When I first read the description of this book I did not think it would be for me. Set in the wilderness and hunting treasure did not sound like a typical Christina Lauren book. I should have had more faith however. I have loved every CL book I have read and this one was no different. Once again the ladies have produced a great contemporary romance book with great characters. This time however we also have an action packed ride including treasure, death and danger. I would highly recommend this to anyone who has previously read and enjoyed a Christina Lauren book.
