An enjoyable story and something very different from what I've come to expect from this dynamic duo. Where Christina Lauren books are normally more romance than anything else Something Wilder followed a different approach. While there was some romance the story was more about the mystery and adventure of a treasure hunt. I enjoyed this part of the story I was surprised many times by how things panned out. The romance side was a 2nd chance one. Our 2 main characters meet up again by chance after years of no contact. We don't get a huge amount of back story and because of this I didn't feel a great connection between them. I did enjoy the story for what it was and if your a Christina Lauren fan then it is definately worth a read but go into it with an open mind.

A fun adventure read with a second-chance romance perfect for a holiday read. Christina Lauren never disappoints with a solid fun romantic story.

Second chance romance meets treasure hunt/Dan brown esque style riddle solving.
Lily and Leo meet on her ranch when she is 19, but after Leo gets a call he leaves and doesn't return and Lily ends up in a downward spiral.
Fast forward 10 years and Lily is running fake treasure hunts and Leo turns up out of the blue.
Cue a real treasure hunt, people pretending to be something they aren't and a race against time and you have the craziest romance I have ever read.
If you can suspend disbelief for a bit then you could really enjoy this one, but I found it slightly too fanciful unfortunately.

Second chance romances aren't generally my thing. Unfortunately, this is the same story here. I didn't feel any chemistry between Lily and Leo, and there weren't as many spicy scenes as in previous CeeLo books – I have a feeling they're not writing as many of those anymore.
I'm not going to walk away from Christina Lauren, but I am a little disappointed by this one.

Thank you to NetGalley for this copy. This is a really good book, kept me entertained throughout and I would thoroughly recommend to all.

This one was a lovely read. I really enjoyed reading this one. I just love this kind of books.
4 stars read for me. Something new from those authits

So good! I bloody love Christina Lauren’s writing, and this did not disappoint. I loved that it was also somewhat different to their normal work, which made it all the more bingeable.

Absolutely love Christina Lauren's beautiful rom coms and Something Wilder was no exception. Gripping and easy to read. Would definitely recommend.

This book wasn't my favourite from Christina Lauren, their books usually really hit the sweet spot for me but this one just didn't come close to the rest.
The first section of the book was difficult to get through, I didn't feel like the chemistry between Lily and Leo was very natural. It felt quite rushed and surface level.
Would recommend for those looking for a short romance, it's a pleasant read just not one of their bests.

I found this book so hard to get into. I thought the premise was slightly ridiculous just to get the two characters back together with lots of money. The only redeeming part for me was the last paragraph with the letter from her dad

Having enjoyed many of Christina Lauren's previous books, I was excited to see what the authors would do next.
And this was a definite departure from those previous rom-coms.
It is much more adventure with a dash of romance than the other way about. And as I normally pick up a Christina Lauren book for the romance, I think that's what stopped me from gelling better with this story.
Some of the parts felt a bit silly and over the top, whereas others were downright cheesy and not necessarily in a self-aware way.
However, it was a quick and easy read, as all of their books are. But it was just missing that something special for me.
It won't stop me from picking up more Christina Lauren books in the future though.
Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Usually, I stay away from second chance romances, as there is a lot of backstory that we as readers are not privy to.. but wow!!
this was not the case for Something Wilder!
I loved Leo and Lily's story!!
The action and the adventure kept me hooked, i could not put it down.. (i literally finished this in one sitting!!) and i truly felt like it was a movie playing out in my mind from reading it!!
If this was ever immortalised in film, I would jump at watching this! But it would not come close to how much i love this book!!

Lily Wilder daughter of the infamous Duke Wilder. Duke spent most of his adult life hunting the fabled fortune of the Butch Cassidy.
Lily having been down on her luck and penniless, set up horseback tours through the Red Dock Canyons of Utah. Using Duke’s hand drawn maps and his many decipher codes he left behind.
Even though this is a means to an end, for Lily it’s soul destroying work. She wants to be more fulfilled and wants nothing more than to get the Wilder ranch back from it’s current owners.
Leo her old flame and the love of her life turns up for a tour with his friends. She hasn’t heard from him since the day he left almost ten years ago.
A series of unfortunate events to follow on an almost comedic level including a sheer cliff drop, a double cross and of course some romance.
I didn’t know what to expect from this book when I started it. I somehow knew it wouldn’t be the usual light rom-com from the Christina Lauren duo.
Told mainly from the perspective of both Leo and Lily in chapters alternating. Set in rural Utah, I loved the setting and the cowgirl vibe from Lily and Nicole.
Another fabulous books from the Christina Lauren duo that I recommend.

Ahhh I love these 2 authors !!! And once again this lovely romance did not fail to disappoint all reminded me of rodeos and country and western all the past loved and confrontation !!! Great little read thank you

I always know when I pick up a Christina Lauren book that I'm going to have an enjoyable ride and this one did not disappoint in that aspect.
I'm a big fan of treasure hunt books/films so this one sounded right up my alley! I loved the tension between our two main characters and enjoyed the idea of the hunt for the treasure that her father had spent his life searching for.
However this one did fall flat for me in a lot of aspects. At times the whole thing and some of what happened just seemed unrealistic to me and I found myself guessing a lot of what was going to happen before the end.
While this was a fun read it definitely wasn't one of my favourites of theirs and I was left feeling a bit disappointed.
Thank you so much to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Something Wilder
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lily is the daughter of a world renowned treasure hunter but after losing her beloved ranch she now makes her money taking tourists on fake treasure hunts through the canyons of Utah.
One day Leo and his friends turn up looking for an adventure, but this isn’t the first time he and Lily have met….
Having read and absolutely loving Unhoneymooners on holiday I was really excited to pick this one up, and although it was an enjoyable read it wasn’t the laid back rom com that I was expecting.
I loved the slow burn tension between Lily and Leo and the writing itself was great, but for me the storyline was just a bit too far fetched
However, this won’t put me off reading more by this duo

Normally i’m a big Christina Lauren fan (partiThe Unhoneymooners) but something about this one hit different, and not in a good way. I didn’t find there to be any chemistry between them and the whole thing was just too far fetched for me. The major plot point about Terry also just made no sense at all and everyone just moved on???
I’ll still continue to read Christina Lauren books in the future but I was disappointed with this one!

Something Wilder - Christina Lauren
If you’re on the hunt for a quick, easy and fun book, you can’t go far wrong with a Christina Lauren and their latest, Something Wilder is no exception. While our MCs Lily and Leo hunt for treasure you get to uncover this hidden gem full of missing fortunes, clueless city lads and a journal full of codes.
I saw on Goodreads that someone rated this as “The Goonies but make it sexy” and that’s better than anything i could come up with so i’m using it here.
As far as Christina Lauren’s books go, this one is much lighter on the romance, so would be a good option for those that like their spice on the more mild side but that doesnt mean there isn’t a romance to root for. This time, it’s exes with unfinished business combined with the drama of finding a huge hidden treasure in America’s wilder regions and what we end up with is an Indiana Jones esque adventure. I will say that the second half was where everything really kicked off for me, so stick with it and, much like Lily’s ranchjnng adventures, you’ll be rewarded.
Something Wilder is out now, thank you @netgalley for the early copy.

This was such a fun and unexpected book. I was hooked from the start and it only got better. It has amazing plot twists - that I really did not see coming- that keep the story intriguing and exciting.
I don't read many second-chance romances but this one was great. The angst was real!
I also liked the main characters - Lily and Leo- although I found the heroine a but annoying at times. I loved Leo though. He was the sweetest.
Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

SOMETHING WILDER by Christina Lauren - I really love CL’s books and all the reviews for this were like ‘classic CL, loved it’ and legit, this couldn’t have been further from a CL book if it tried. I was so lost and confused at the start, I genuinely went and checked the name of the book on my kindle to make sure I’d picked the right one, that’s how different it was but as soon as I got about 20% in and understood this was something different then I really loved it. This is basically an action adventure book with a teeny tiny love story running through it. It’s all action and twists and nothing like a CL story but as long as you go into it not looking for a romance book then you’ll enjoy it!
