Christina Lauren is a writing duo that I always feelI can trust to provide me with a good read. That is why I was beyond excited to read Something Wilder whilst I was on holiday. I knew it was something a little different for the pair but I didn’t realise to what extent. Let me tell you, this book blew my mind! It is unconventional and unique and it is truly exciting to devour.
This book is very different from any of the other books that they have released and it deserves a lot of love. It is an action-packed western meets mystery. It has an angsty and heart-warming love story, lot of comedic moments and a whole lot of adventure. I’ve never seen this mix of genres before and at first I was worried. I didn’t need to be though, as the genres blended perfectly!
I don’t want to give anything away about the story and the adventure but just know that it gets wild about 30% in. At one point I gasped so loudly I woke my fiancé up who was on the sun lounger next to me. I loved how the riddles, puzzles and codes are developed throughout the book and had fun trying to figure them out. I thought I had figured things out and I was completely wrong. It truly is a wild ride.
I loved Lily and Leo with their second-chance romance storyline. Lily is such a determined, fiery, stubborn and caring main character and I loved watching how she dealt with things. Lily definitely takes no messing and I thoroughly enjoyed reading about her. Leo is such a sweet love interest. He clearly cares so much for Lily and others around him. He is excellent and I loved him. I loved the tension we see the first time they see each other again. Their romance storyline is heart-warming and the love radiated off the page.
The secondary characters in this book are also excellent. All of them are unique and a lot of fun. Two who I feel deserve a special mention are Nicole and Walter. Pair Nicole’s toughness with Walter’s shyness and they make an interesting duo to see throughout the book. I loved watching all the characters interact with each other and how fun it was to read the dynamic between them.
Personally, I would say that for me, this is Christina Lauren’s best book I’ve read. It is so unique, fun and truly thrilling. I’m glad they decided to step out of their comfort zone and give something unique a go. It worked amazingly and exceeded all my expectations.
Overall, Something Wilder is a truly unique, thrilling, heart-warming and amazing book to devour in a few sittings. I cannot recommend this one enough. Expect the unexpected with this one and let yourself be drawn into the story.

This was my second Christina Lauren book following The Soulmate Equation. I enjoyed it, but I didn’t feel the thrill I did reading the first book by the duo!
I found the plot at times a little cheesy and far fetched. However, I think it would make a good quick holiday read!
I liked the adventure side of the storyline and really enjoyed the hidden codes that Lily had to decipher left by Duke!
I really loved the ending, I loved how the adventure was wrapped up and adored the final clues! This for me, made the book!
⭐️⭐️⭐️

l went into it completely blind.
Wow….. l absolutely loved it!!!!
This was a well written contemporary romance but with so much more going for it, action, adventure, humor, love, and betrayal.
Get ready to be swept along on a wild and fun misadventure with puzzles to solve and treasure to find, throw in a second chance at love and not everything is as it seems and you have a hit on your hands. I fell in love with Leo and Lily and also had a soft spot for Nicole and Walter. The perfect read right now to escape from reality, l highly recommend it to everyone, go grab your copy and enjoy the ride.

DNF 20%
the two main characters of this book were rather annoying from the beginning and I really didn't like the whole adventure set up either when this is a romance novel. Then I read some reviews on goodreads and I'm personally glad I didn't finish this if I'm honest. I think I'd much prefer to read another book from this author duo.

WILD WEST FANS…
Adventure meets romance in the latest from author duo Christina Lauren. This was the perfect summer read – prepare to suspend your disbelief and enjoy the wild ride!!
Read this if you like:
- Witty banter
- Desert vibes
- Plot twists at every turn
- Second chance romance
- Wild West meets City Slickers
- Films like The Lost City and National Treasure
- An amazing cast of side characters (think The Hangover meets Indiana Jones)
- A mix of action and romance in a plot (this is definitely more adventure than romance)
- Treasure hunts (with riddles, puzzles and tonnes of suspense along the way with the race to find the treasure!)
Petition for this book to be made into an action comedy/rom-com ASAP as it would be amazing to see this come to life on the big screen.
Thank you so much Netgalley & Little Brown Book Group!

This book was a solid 3.5 stars for me! The way that Christina Lauren is able to vibrantly describe the ranch setting was truly something brilliant. I also was a big fan of the second chance romance, slowburn and forced proxemics trope- if you are too, this book is great for you!
Both Lily and Leo were well-rounded characters with electric chemistry, however I did not expect this book to be so action-packed! For me, unfortunately, it made some of the more action-heavy scenes quite difficult to follow and to process what had happened. The plot was good, which made this fact even more frustrating! Overall, I would recommend this book to a friend, but not right away! Check out The Unhoneymooners or Josh and Hazels Guide To Not Dating if you’re interested in Christina Lauren’s books!

This was my first 5 star read of the year, and rightly so. I am genuinely so in love with this book. I loved the mix of action, adventure and romance, especially because I wouldn't usually read an action or adventure book, so it was great to get a glimpse of it. Something about the love between Lily and Leo was so pure and beautiful, I loved it, they were teens and had nothing to lose, and were just so magically in love with each other. As with any CL book, theres a twist, but this book was jam-packed with twists, not just in the romance. I was genuinely shocked, angry and confused at so many of them! And I really felt that reading this book was an experience in itself because of this, I felt so much excitement, I also loved the various friendships in this book, despite how some were screwed over, some were very wholesome. I really did enjoy this book, I thought the setting was insane, and again something I wouldn't usually read, so I really applaud CL for opening their readers to something entirely new and different from the typical romance, whilst also retaining so many romantic elements. And of course, I absolutely loved Leo, he was a complete sweetheart. Undeniably a 5 star from me!

This book surprised me as I haven't read much Christina Lauren, this was such a heartwarming romance especially the fact they were both fighting feelings regardless of the attraction being mutual. This is a fast-paced advenure with elements of Indiana Jones. While some of the story seems a little far-fetched in places I couldn't put it down. I love the will they/won't they and crossing my fingers for a happy ending.

I had such high hopes for this book but it just fell short. It took me a while to get into it and therefore took me a little longer to read than it probably would have done. That being said, the story and character were really good and was different to what I've read before.

"Missing you was physically debilitating"
THIS BOOK WAS WILD🤪
Basically ten years ago Lily's lover Leo left and they didn't talk again👻, but his friends booked a trip that Lily is guiding🐎.
"If it's easy, than it isn't worth it"
They're supposed to spent week in the wild🏞️🏕️ and search for treasure🪙. But then everything goes to shit 💀
"Leo would love Lily Wilder forever."
There are guns🔫, treasons, murder💀, kidnapping🕴️. You don't know who to trust, they all hold each other at gun🔫/knife🔪 point. LITERALLY.
"She loved his face. She loved him. She couldn't imagine finding another face anywhere that she would love so much."
There was a lot of action🏃 in this book and because of mystery❔ element it kept me on my toes constantly and I couldn't stop reading. Romance👩❤️💋👨 was nice, but it was more like a sub plot imo. 4/5⭐
Thank you NetGalley for providing digital advanced copy in exchange for honest review.

Oh my goodness this book! Christina Lauren can already do no wrong in my eyes, and with every new book they get more things right. Something Wilder is funny, dramatic, sexy, emotional and so, so romantic! I loved Lily and Leo, I loved how they found their way back to each other. I loved all the drama and stress and incredibly satisfying, treasure hunting goodness. It is sheer, unadulterated joy and I loved it. A lot.

Second chance romance, an adventure guide company, and a fake treasure hunt. Just up my street!
Lily's father, Duke has a reputation with a past of hidden treasures and big dreams. The love of Lily's life, Leo from ten years ago, shows up at the ranch ready for some outdoor adventures.
I didn't feel any bond between the two love interests it felt kind of forced and fake which was unusual; from a Christina Lauren novel. It reminded me of a cheesy hallmark romance movie.
I enjoyed the setting and the storyline just felt like the romance lacked.

Christina Lauren has done it yet again. I always love diving into their books because I know it will be a rollercoaster of ups and downs, twists and turns. This book definitely surprised me when it suddenly went from a second chance romance into something ... very different without spoiling anyone.
Definitely recommend this book!

3.5 stars
This is my lowest rated CLo book so far and while I enjoyed it, it didn’t give me the feelings I usually get from their books.
It’s a ‘Romancing the Stone’ esque treasure hunting adventure with a second chance romance. It was a fun read that I finished a day.
I received an advance digital copy via NetGalley but bought a physical copy myself. These opinions are my own.

okay lets be real for just a second the first 10% of this book was boring and I was so ready to DNF and I told myself no becuase lately the christina lauren books have been great. And boy am I glad I continued. the narrator was enjoyable and the story developed quite nicely. This book was city boys on a be a county boy for a week and then it just got better and better. I loved the second chance romance here and how that developed. I also really enjoyed all of her dads games and cyphers. Its a win for me

3.5/4 stars
I really enjoyed this book! It was different to what I've usually read in romance and it was so nice to read romance in a unique setting. The storyline kept me interested the whole way through and I loved the relationship between Lily and Leo and even Lily and Nicole. It had so many twists that kept me guessing and throughly engaged.
Would definitely recommend this especially if you're looking for something out of the conventional romance narrative.

This wonderful book is a second chance romance between Lily, a daughter of a treasure hunter, and Leo, a city boy who is looking for adventure. Lily runs fake treasure hunts based on her dads treasure maps when Leo unexpectedly ends up booked on one of them. But when a hilarious mishap happens on the trip they are forced to address what pushed them apart. But fear not, they also have a chance at repairing their relationship AND finding real treasure on the fake hunt.
I’ve never routed for two people to get together more than Lily and Leo, honestly this was one of those really sweet romance reads where you’re watching everything play out on an adventure gone wrong. I’ve read a couple of Christina Lauren books and their writing is always so enjoyable and fun. Definitely add this one to your TBRs if you haven’t already.
Thank you so much to Clara at Piatkus for sending me a copy in exchange for my honest review!

I'm usually a huge fan of Christina Lauren's books, I've rated every other book of theirs 5 stars, but this one just didn't do it for me. It's not a romance, for a start. It's a treasure hunt/mystery and I wasn't really in the mood for that when I picked it up because I was expecting the second-chance romance.
It's not really a big part of the story.
I'm a mood reader so that's why it fell flat for me. I also didn't really connect with the characters and I lost interest quite quickly. Although, I won't fault the writing because both Christina and Lauren are great writers, it's nothing about that at all, but the story just wasn't for me. I wouldn't discourage anyone else reading it either because many people have still enjoyed it and I'm a really picky reader.

Christina Lauren did it again. Something Wilder was a brilliant read. I really enjoyed the interactions between al the characters especially between Lily and Leo. I loved following Lily on her adventure and really loved how she grew close to Leo again. The ending was great and I will definitely be rereading Something Wilder again.

A Romance with action, adventure, twist and turns....What more could you possibly want?
The lovers to strangers to lovers trope was done so well in this book. The adventure put more focus on how much the main characters could trust each other even after spending so many years apart and I even became attached to the side characters.
