This was book I could quickly get into with twists and turns which makes it fast paced.
I didn’t want to read this in the dark! The characters were relatable which is always good for me.
Would read more books from this author.
Thank you to Michael Joseph, Penguin Random House | Penguin and netgalley for an advance copy of this book

This is a fast paced, easy listen. It engaged me from the start. The storyline unfolds through a past and present timeline with no idea how they connect but both very intriguing. There are some really likeable characters along with some unlikeable ones. It’s very cleverly written that builds the suspense but giving you enough to keep you listening. Claire Corbett and Joanne Froggatt did a superb job narrating and they both added to it in their own ways. Overall it all came together well. Good storyline and would recommend.

Thanks to Netgalley and Penguin Random House for the opportunity to read and review #TheGirlsWhoDisappeared

A good read with lots of tension and suspense. Really good twists that I didn't expect. Can't wait to read more from the author.

This book started off strong however after around fifty or sixty percent I started to loose interest and reading it became more of an effort.

I enjoyed this book by a new author for me. It came together nicely in the end with all the different story lines linking together nicely. However, in the beginning/middle it did seem to drag quite a bit. There was one moment when I realised that the two timelines were connected, that was my eureka moment for this book.
I feel like the ending was alright, nothing too amazing - at least all the questions were answered. I would read another book by this author, but not in a hurry.

Thank you to NetGalley, Michael Joseph and Claire Douglas for this gifted copy! This was my first read of October/spooky season and it did not disappoint! I was expecting a classic mystery, which it most certainly was but what I wasn't counting on was how eerie and atmospheric it turned out to be!

Douglas is fast become an auto read author for me. Her writing is so gripping, it's hard to put down once you've started! The Girls Who Disappeared was no exception! Twenty years ago, three friends vanished without a trace, leaving only one girl behind. In the present day, a hopeful podcast presenter wants to revisit the case and get to the bottom of where these girls disappeared to. Told through a dual timeline and alternating perspectives, Douglas takes us on a wild ride!

The Girls Who Disappeared is an ideal read for this time of year! It's creepy, full of suspense and mystery, and has such an explosive ending, it'll definitely keep you up past your bedtime!

Spooky, creepy and as hood as expected from this talent. I admit I was jumpy after reading this. I’ve bought it for my daughter to read on holiday. A string 5/5

Claire Douglas is a fantastic writer who never fails to produce fast paced, twisty thrillers with incredibly satisfying endings. The Girls Who Disappeared is another novel that drew me in and kept me guessing until the very end.
Following a car accident on a country road, 18 year old Olivia regains consciousness to discover her three friends are missing from the car she was driving. 20 years later, journalist Jenna visits the small town with the aim of producing a podcast to examine what happened that night and the theories behind the strange disappearances.
I can’t recommend this book enough along with the author’s other novels. So many psychological thrillers are too slow or have farcical endings, but not this one. Brilliant!

Imagine 20 years ago there was a car accident and one person might hold all the answers to find out what take happened that night.

Is the mystery able to be solved? Are there people in danger? Twists and turns throughout so you'll whizz through.

Another fantastic read by Claire Douglas. When Olivia is in a car accident and her friends disappear, it has effected Olivia all her life. 20 years later podcaster Jenna investigates what happened.

Oh, boy, let me tell you about this book - it's a total WOW! Remember how I loved that other story of hers, "The Couple at Number 9"? Well, I practically did a happy dance when I got my hands on "The Girls Who Disappeared."

It all starts with a bang - literally! Olivia and her pals are on a road trip when BAM! A nasty accident leaves her all alone. Talk about a mystery from the get-go! Fast forward 20 years, and we meet Jenna, a gutsy journalist with a mission - she's digging into the disappearance of those girls for a podcast. Oh, she's got guts, alright, 'cause everyone in town is tight-lipped, especially Olivia. Secrets and resistance everywhere!

But hold on tight 'cause things get even spookier - threats, danger, and an eerie forest surrounding Jenna's cabin. I was on the edge of my seat, ready to jump outta my skin at times! Douglas sure knows how to weave those tales of lies and deceit, keeping us guessing until the very last page.

The way she ties everything together - genius! I couldn't untangle that web of secrets even if I had a whole roll of duct tape. And that's what makes this book a total winner! The devilish atmosphere, the creepy vibes, and the suspense - oh, it's all just so darn thrilling!

So, here's the deal - if you're into spine-chilling mysteries that'll make you gasp and clutch your blanket tight, "The Girls Who Disappeared" is a MUST! Douglas has got me hooked, and I'm already on the lookout for her next tangled web of a story! Five stars, baby - five stars!

A solid mystery that has complex storylines buried within it. Can Jenna solve the unexplained events of 20 years ago.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
I have read other books by this author so I was expecting an interesting, accomplished read and I wasn't disappointed! Jenna has gone to stay in the village to investigate an old disappearance of 3 girls to make a news podcast. She stays in a log cabin set in a forest which immediately creates an eerie atmosphere which is added to by stories of strange lights and UFOs, shadowy figures and noises. We meet many characters who are all under suspicion, and at the same time another story is running with hints of drug smuggling. The story is so twisty I suspected everyone, and the final outcome was absolutely impossible to predict. This book is excellent!

I found this an ok read. Whilst initially I was intrigued, I found the slow pace to distract from the twist and turns making it less than thrilling.
