Sorry, but I am DNFing this after the third story.

The digital ARC is very poorly formatted. The stories seem to continue in one flow, with no clue where one story ends and the next begins. (This also speaks volumes about the content - I could only guess from the sudden appearance of new characters that a new story had begun. There was no logical ending to the earlier one.)

There's a listing at the start that is evidently the index but the content doesn't follow this. For example, the second story is supposed to be titled "High Jinks" as per the index but begins with the words " The morning of the father-daughter". There's no clue about the title when the story begins.

In addition, many sentences are missing, sometimes after every couple of paras. I tried to guess at the missing elements but there are too many to be able to comprehend the story without distraction.

Some examples: (This is exactly how they appear in my ARC.)
1. "The morning of the father-daughter
the horrors and can't leave the can."

2. "Or tell holy-shit-hour stories while the moms all
dad and Jamie and Katrina have been doing the trip every July
mighty Deshka."

3. "Katrina watches as her lure pops up to the surface, but she
-ing about how her mom and Jamie's mom.... their high heels
got all the other moms to do it with them."

As you can see, comprehension is next to impossible.

I attempted the first three stories but I'll not be able to complete the book because it is taking too much of my time to make a guess at what's missing. The writing is also not much to my taste - quite dragged and repetitive - so even if I trudge on, I doubt I will go beyond 3 stars at most.

Based on the content I read, the book provides just an average experience so it will be a two star rating here. As I didn't complete the book nor was I able to judge the writing quality enough because of the missing content, I'll not rate/review this book anywhere else.

Thanks for the opportunity to read this title. Sorry it didn't work out better.

Sadly this book didn't hit the mark for me, while I have read others that are set in similar communities in Alaska and enjoyed the way the bleakness, climate and isolation are depicted this one was just too unrelentingly miserable for me to enjoy.
