Quite a different take on your average love story, well written with good believable characters. Again unlike most love stories it was very hard to predict where it would end. But total credit to the author for a moving and believable tale.

Get your tissues ready.
Lucy and Jamie are meant to be together but Jamie wants children and Lucy doesn`t can they survive.
The book starts out with Lucy leaving Jamie.
The story is told by both characters and flits from present to past regularly which I don`t usually like but this flows easily and everything starts coming together.
Loved both Lucy and Jamie and just wanted them both to be together

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC

A quick and easy read that I found myself picking up after a long day to unwind. The characters are beautifully written and I came to love them within the first few pages and was rooting for them all the way to the end. At times I wanted to stop reading because I just wanted the experience to go on for longer.

Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A beautifully crafted book that is raw and honest. The concept of starting at the end is refreshingly intriguing as you need to know what has happened to this seemingly perfect couple. Very believable characters, the book felt authentic throughout.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

This was a moving read, the story is about Jamie and Lucy, both love each other so much.

At the start of the story, Lucy is set on ending her relationship with Jamie. It then takes us back to the start, how they met and why now, they are splitting up.

The story had a lot of emotions and Rachel has done a fabulous job writing this book, which has a female character, who would be evaluated for her opinions, and the male character ensured that this was offset, his feelings were very different in their liaison. Jamie and Lucy made a beautiful couple, alongside them were other characters in the book.

I loved how fearless Lucy was and the way things worked out after their split was well expressed.

I recommend this book.

Yes, Yes, Yes!
What an emotional and beautifully written book. One to sit down and devour from beginning to end, in one sitting if possible.
From the beginning we know that Jamie and Lucy are in love but breaking up but we need to go back to the beginning of the relationship to find out why.
Rachel Marks has not disappointed. Her characters take on a live of their own and the reader is pulled into the story.
Just beautiful.

What a rollercoaster ride! I really enjoyed this tale of meeting The One but the timing neve being quite right, a series of near misses and a heart warming end. A great read

When something starts with a goodbye, how do you really know when it ends? The love story of Jamie and Lucy starts at the end, after their split. But they're perfect for each other, they're soulmates, other halves - despite being totally different to each other, they could always agree that they'd met the one.

We look back on a relationship, from the first moments, to the big moments, and see love bloom on the pages, all while wondering anxiously what could have ended it. We journey to the past and to the future at the same time, seeing them move forward and reflect back, wondering if their paths will cross again. The characters are heartwarming and heartbreaking, and it's impossible not to get invested in their relationship and their lives as we get to know them more with every page.

Blimey what a rollercoaster our two main characters go through in this book. This covers some heavy topics that some readers might want to know about (and are also spoilers - check out at the end for more information.

I liked the structure of this one - you know at the start that our main characters break up. But just why did they make that ultimate decision - especially if they’re THE ONE? Marks takes you on two journeys; the present as you follow them after that break up and in the past from when they first meet and fall in love….and then things don’t go to plan. Back to that previously mentioned rollercoaster.

This is heartbreaking read as you know they’re made for each other and perfect together. But they’re also their own individual person, and sometimes you need to let go the love of your life for your own wellbeing.

This is another cracking read from Marks, but the reason it’s not a 5⭐️ read is because it took me a little while to get sucked into their story (but that’s probably down to my mood at the time).

⚠️Content warning/potential spoilers: there’s reference to infertility and miscarriage, and the impact on those affected ⚠️

A bittersweet romance full of emotion between Jamie and Lucy. Thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for letting me review this book.

A really well written, emotional read as always from Rachel Marks. Really interesting to have the story start with end of the relationship before we go on the journey of how they got there. Key element of a romance is missing though so think this leans more towards womens fiction. (3 ⭐️)

This book starts at the end, Lucy and Jamie have broken up.. we don’t know why but what we do know is they are madly in love…. The book alternates between before and after break up and from each of their point of views.

The book does cover some sensitive subjects and the reason for the break up slowly unravels as you read through, I did think there was going to be a twist to liven it up a bit (hence my 4 and not 5 star rating) However I still would recommend this book, I do enjoy Rachel Marks writing.

Thanks to Penguin Random House for inviting me to read the digitalARC of this book.

Wow, what an amazing emotional book. Total role reversal but so relevant to today's society and choices. I was totally engrossed and invested in the story. The romance and heartbreak feels real.
I don't want to give away any spoilers but stick with it through the tough passages and come out the other side.
Keep a packet of tissues close by.

I’ve read and loved all of Marks’ novels. And this was no different. Characters were almost painfully real at times, and difficult experiences were beautifully written. Cannot recommend more highly.

I absolutely adored this book and read it over a long weekend sitting out in the sun. The story starts at the end and fills in all the blanks as you read all the chapters. I so longed for Jamie and Lucy to find happiness together and I actually shed a few tears as I was reading it for both of them.
I actually could read again as this book covers issues which I can relate to and I feel never really get spoken about with family and friends.

I loved this book and read it all in one sitting.
It follows the story of Jamie and Lucy who fall in love and who you root for all the way through the book. But Jamie wants children and Lucy doesn't. We follow the story from the end back through the relationship still hoping for a happy ending.
Really well written book which I wholeheartedly recommend!

I really liked this story about Lucy and Jamie, who hit it off right from their very first date, despite being quite different characters.

This is a well-written story, fast-paced and had me turning pages late into the night.

I'm trying hard to think of a way to describe the story without giving too much away but you will go on a rollercoaster of emotions.
