would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this book

it was great to visit morgans world again and see how things have progressed with her relationship with ben her boss....at first i found it very strange how pleasant things were....after all morgan goes through so much grief in these books that i found this one quite strange

but it wasnt long before strange started to happen and things started to get violent....

a very good murder mystery with the boogeyman frightening a young lad, quite literally....

but i did struggle with how ben was mollycoddling morgan and i can see her rebelling in the not to distant future...

but this one was a great story and the red herring had me fooled right up until near the end...brilliantly done

I love Helen Phifer and have been a fan of many of her books.
This one i struggled with, sadly i just found it rather far fetched and had to force myself to finish it.

My thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an advanced copy for which i have left my honest review.

Another 4 star read. I find this series quite addictive and speed through them easily. I quite like the developing relationship between Morgan and her boss but the amount of times she becomes a target to the murderers ruins the books a little. Makes them a bit far fetched.

Another fantastic five star read from one of my favourite authors. This read had me sat on the edge of my seat and tapping my kindle like a demented wood pecker. Chilling in places, intense and I had no idea who the killer was until the big reveal. This author has done it again and I can't wait to read more. A well deserved five stars and a MUST READ!!!!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC.

Detective Morgan Brookens is back with a sixth case with all our favorite characters!

A body of a nearly decomposed woman was found in a flat. The police believe that she died from natural causes. However after doing autopsy finds that the woman was in fact murdered--possibly hanged or slashed her neck. Now Morgan along with our other favorite character Ben must discover who the murderer was. Morgan also realizes that the mirrors in the room were covered and the clock stopped at six. But then, another girl was also found murdered, in almost the similar fashion, Morgan must find the deranged killer before he can attack another one.

I was literally hooked from the first chapter to the end! The book was fast paced with thrills and twists along the way and the author has done a good job of making the reader feel like they are at the edge of the seat. I was glued to the page, wanting to know who is the murderer. Oh there's another new character who seemed to have got on a wrong foot with Ben. Besides all the case solving and all, I like the subtle book mentions of Stephen King's books. Stephen King is known to write dark horror thrillers so in a way, the author was clever enough to use his books to tie up with the crimes! The ending was unexpected and it left me reeling. I started only yesterday and then just finished it today--it was really good!

If you like a fast paced thriller with a favorite detective series, this one is for you--worth five stars!

Many thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for the ARC. The review is based on my honest opinion only.

I am a huge Helen Phifer fan, and her latest book does not disappoint!!

Detective Morgan Brookes is investigating the murders of two women, and has a hunch that the murders are connected in some way. Every clock in the house is stopped at 6 and the mirrors covered, and the murderer has cut a lock of hair from the victims. Morgan has to research how the victims are connected before she can find the murderer.

I enjoyed this book so much, loving the twists and turns that the story took, and kept changing my mind on who the murderer was. Of course it was the person I least expected.

Thanks to Netgalley for this ARC.

Helen never fails to deliver a great story in any of her books and in this 6th book in the Morgan Brookes series she's written yet another cracker, lots of suspense and tense moments.
At first glance at the lady on her sofa you'd be forgiven for thinking she's sleeping if it wasn't for the smell of her decomposing body emanating throughout her flat. Ben feels its a natural death but straightaway Morgan feels there's something suspicious, the mirrors are covered and the clock stopped at six.
Soon called to another death the team have no time to breathe in their hurry to solve the case.
I raced through this book, and really enjoyed the storyline

Absolutely brilliant gripping book had me hooked from start to finish.Morgan Brookes is back with the team after her last case and what a case they have,is it a natural death or murder as they can't tell much from the scene. The story and characters in this series go so well together and with the pen of Helen Phifer to bring us this new case I can highly recommend this book it will have you gripped and like me have you guessing who the guilty party is.EXCELLENT book 5*

I did not finish "Sleeping Dolls". It did not work for me. I don't like my cops to be cutesy and/or in a relationship with their supervisor. This set up bothered me from the very first chapters.

I love this series, this one is no exception, I think is the creepiest one yet tho! Great characters, packed full off twists and turns and it just wouldn't be the same without Morgan getting into a scrape. Great read, highly recommended.

Murder and intrigue...mystery...friendship...family...children...love and loss...themes running throughout this novel...written by a gifted and talented author...this is a difficult to put down book...the characters are just not likable...not lovable at all...some are just horrible...however, the story flows and comes to a satisfying end...for some...others not so much. This book was sent to me for review from Netgalley. ENJOY.

With thanks to netgalley for an early copy of sleeping dolls in return for an honest opinion.
Having read other books by this author I knew it would be a delightful and gripping tale which it was, I throughly enjoyed the characters and the premise and can highly recommend this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I struggled to get into the book. There were too many characters in the first chapter and I was constantly lost as to who is who. The book improved a bit later but I still couldn't get into the book at all. The twists were cliché and I could see them coming from a mile away. I couldn't like the main characters at all. Ben seemed insufferable. I liked the flashbacks to the killer's childhood and found the overall plot decent.

What does trigger a killer? Why do they suddenly act when they were able to push their feelings down and hide them away for a long time? That’s what I always ask myself when reading a thriller or an article in the newspaper.

Neighbours often talk about killers as kind and a bit quiet and then at a certain moment they explode. You did not realise you were living next to a ticking time bomb. So what makes them act? They could have done It a lot sooner, but they didn’t. Why?

It’s even more creepy when you think about it. They don’t show their true colours and maybe those are the most dangerous ones. Someone who shows signs of violence, you are beware of them. The kind ones you often invite into your home, because you trust them and why shouldn’t you?

You have to excuse me, but there is one thing I just have to mention, because I thought it was hilarious. I won’t tell who said it or who they were talking too. I leave that for you to find out 😊

‘If you were a super hero, they would call you Track and Trace.’

Morgan, Ben and their team have to find out who is behind the murders and although Morgan is still determined to solve the case, I have the impression she is not the act-and-think-afterwards person anymore. She has been through so much before, she is more prudent now. Maybe because she has found a new purpose in life? I still think she is great and she sees things other people did not notice.

A great book, but I knew it would be. The author always delivers. 5 stars

Thank you

Love love love! This is book 6 in the DC Morgan Brookes series and once again the series just gets better and better. Early in the book the body count starts to rise! I was sure I had figured this one out and alas I was wrong! I thought I’d make it through this one without Morgan getting herself into a situation, but it wouldn’t be DC Morgan if there wasn’t.
Thanks Netgalley and Publisher for the opportunity to read this book, and the writer for some pretty cool characters who just get better and better.
