As always C L Taylor has written a very twisted novel. The backstabbing and double crossing never fails to shock me.
I really enjoyed the revenge side to this story. It’s not often you get to see the tables turned.
It is a very adult book, dealing with some shocking incidents. I listened to it as an audio book and really felt the narrator brought the characters to life. Loved the voices she used.

Olivia Sutherland is wrongfully convicted of attempting to murder her husband. So begins the rather captivating psychological thriller by C.L. Taylor. This is a woman fighting for her life, freedom and family against a system that has already judged her guilty. Trying to determine who is a friend or enemy and what secrets they all hold to the puzzle that destroyed her life. It is a clever blend of fast paced action with an agonizingly slow unraveling of the puzzle pieces. This is a good dose of psychological thriller!

I've read all C.L. Taylor's other books and have really enjoyed them all, and this one did not disappoint. It follows a woman, Olivia, falsely accused of conspiring with her husband to murder her husband, who serves 5 years in prison before being released on license, determined to restore her relationship with her daughter, prove her innocence and get back at whoever framed her. There were plenty of twists and turns in the plot. I particularly enjoyed the "shades of grey" characters of Danni and Smithy, who do bad things but aren't necessarily bad people. It had me gripped from start to finish.

I thought the narration was very good, with just the right amount of voice acting to differentiate between characters without it distracting from the story.

I listened to this as an audiobook and the narration was excellent.
I’ve read a couple of this authors books before, one I lived the other not so much so I wasn’t sure what to expect.

This started really well and had me hooked straight away, it lost its way a bit in the middle and I found myself losing interest, I stuck with it though and the ending was great.

An Immersive Listen…
Olivia Sutherland was convicted of plotting to murder her husband five years ago. Now she’s free and seeking to repair her relationship with her daughter, clear her name and avenge the husband who framed her. Is everything as it seems? Perhaps not. A bumpy ride lies ahead and is perfectly relayed in this nuanced and well performed audiobook format of the book. It’s certainly a compelling and immersive listen, each character is well portrayed and distinctive as the tale gathers pace and the twists and turns are manoeuvred with ease. Thoroughly entertaining.

Thank you Netgalley & Harper Collins UK Audio/Avon for an ALC of The Guilty Couple! With one look at the cover of this book, I knew I needed to request it! What would you do if your husband framed you for murder? Now that Olivia is free from prison, you're going to find out just how far she will go to rekindle her relationship with her daughter and right the wrongs that were done to her. I switched off between the audio and physical for this one, and both were great. This is a twisty psychological thriller that will leave you guessing until the very last minute of listening. The narrator was SPOT ON and fantastic!

Thank you to Netgalley, HarperCollins UK Audio, Avon for the opportunity to read/review this audio book.. I've read a number of CL Taylor books since joining Netgalley and haven't yet found one that I didn't enjoy. The great mix of Clare Corbett narrating this book always makes them even better, as she does such a great job with all the characters, they really come alive.

I enjoy C L Taylor's books.. There's always a lot going on in addition to the main storyline, giving to lots of twists and turns along the way and this is no exception. In this book Olivia has just come out of prison after being wrongfully convicting of plotting to murder her husband Dominic, The first things she wants to do is reconnect with her daughter ,clear her name and bring down her husband who framed her. But how can she reconnect when she's only allowed supervised visits and can't get anywhere near the family home.

A intense fast paced psychological thriller which could keep you awake at night..

A great read.

I have had a total block with reading and listening recently. #TheGuilyCouple by @cltaylorauthor has rid me! I started this last week and after a couple of false starts more to do with my mood and attention than the writing I was absolutely hooked. Another fantastically fast paced, clever thriller with a twist you don’t see coming. Thanks to #netgalley and #harpercollinsukaudio for the gifted audiobook in exchange for an honest review

I really enjoyed listening to this story.
Olivia was framed for the attempted murder of her husband, now out of jail she resolves to clear her name and mend her relationship with her daughter.
I felt that the story moved quickly and kept me interested. I was not expecting it to end like it did. Overall a very pleasant listen and the narrator does a great job, a really love her voice.

Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins for letting me review this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

**please note due to low rating I will not be leaving a public review for this book as I have not paid for it.**

Narrator 5 stars
Clare Corbett is one of my absolute favourite narrators. I've brought audiobooks from authors ive never heard of just because I love her voice.

Story 2.5 stars
This started off really good with very interesting characters, but then it seriously lagged in the middle and became quite dull. So by the time the end came I was no longer invested.

If I had read this in book format I would have marked it DNF.

I really enjoyed this one! The plot kept me hooked and the writing was suspenseful right til the end. Some parts were maybe not 100% believable, but that didnt take away from my enjoyment of the book. The writing was a bit repetitive and maybe a bit too over- descriptive in parts, taking my rating down to a 4, but overall I would definitely recommend to thriller fans!

The audiobook worked really well for this one. The only thing I would perhaps have done differently would have been to have multiple narrators for the different POVs.

After 5 years in prison wrongly accused of plotting to murder her husband Olivia is out and wants to prove her innocence and reunite with her daughter. This book had a fantastic set of characters, all of whom had some little thing that made you suspect them, and they all have something to lose. A dodgy police officer sleeping with her ex-husband, a former convict as an ally, a friend who dropped her as soon as she went to prison the list of suspects goes on and on. I really loved this book. Liv was a fantastic character while at times I could not believe her stupidity I rooted for her the whole way through this book. Her friendship with Smithy had me at times laughing out loud and hoping that Smithy would not let her down. This book was narrated so well, switching effortlessly between characters it was easy to know which character was speaking.
There were so many plot twists and turns that I listened to this book in just over a day. Full of tension and nerve-wracking moments that all flows into a wonderful, neat ending. A fantastic read!

This was an enjoyable book that started off well. It dropped slightly in the middle and struggled to keep my attention but then it picked up again. I enjoyed the ending.

OMG! If ever a book deserved these three letters its this one. The narrator is outstanding and the story is off the charts amazing. Every time i thought i had “guessed” the plot twist along came another one! I could not stop listening to it and had to finish it as quickly as possible to find out the final “who dunnit?’ Every step Olivia takes is believable and she is a character you want to see come out on top? Or do you? All the characters from Nancy to Leigh, to Dominic to Jack take actions that as the listener you know will have consequences but again they are completely believable. This is a book to buy for friends as Im sure everyone will love it. Well done CL Taylor, and I can’t wait for your next book

Really good read.by an easy to listen to narrator.
The story turns out to be darker and more complicated than it first appears. The ending is extremely satisfying.

A great book with a catchy storyline. The booked started face paced however eit did slow down in the second half. Told from different characters POV I liked how this developed the characters giving them depth and committing you to want to know more, a good narration that had me gripped to the end.

I loved everything about this book! I switched back and forth between reading and listening and honestly… they’re totally equal! The narrator is fabulous, the writing is phenomenal… the storyline blows my mind!!! I loved it all! The alternating chapters and figuring out who the bad guys are and the fuzzy line between doing what’s right and doing the right thing… absolutely epic! Callie Taylor is in a class all to herself!

The Guilty Couple is really good, its fast paced and the characters are relatable. Olivia is let out of prison after being set up for allegedly arranging to have her husband killed for his life insurance. Once out she has two goals, to see her daughter and to prove her innocence.
The story does have a lot of coincidences where things just slot in to place for Olivia but its not distracting and the narrator Clare Corbett does a fantastic job at bringing the story to life. to the dramatic end.
