Absolutely loved this book!

The writing style was really good and I look forward to reading any other books from this author in the future :)

The potential is there, but I just didn't feel like the progress and development of both leads, as well as the romance, were enough for me to be invested. Overall, it was good, even better than the first.

This is a good book. The two main characters are Mel and Dan. They have known and dated their whole lives. Mel is in marketing and Dan is in a band. Dan left Mel when the band started touring. Mel became pregnant and didn’t tell Dan, but she did try to tell him but he didn’t have time to listen. He came back four years later to win Mel back and found out about his daughter. There were many things they had to work out but found true love.

I love a good second chance romance, a good rockstar romance, and a well done pregnancy trope, and this one KNOCKS it out of the park. I can't wait to read the backlist and anything new! Mel and Dan are such a good couple, and realistically written which is my favorite. Dan goes off to live his rockstar dreams, but Mel gets left behind and carries the weight of raising a child on her own. She's hurt over his disregard for her or the relationship they had, and the relationship Mel wants Dan to have with their daughter. It takes work on his part, and he has to prove he deserves a second chance for Mel's heart. But when it finally clicks for him, they're stronger than ever before.

Where do I start with this review?! It is stunning. This book is single POV, from Mel’s perspective. Through it we can see her doubts, worries, love, and heartbreak. Mel is such a wonderful and fierce mother. She puts Phoebe first with everything she seems to do. She also has a great support system with family and friends. When Dan comes back into the picture, he is such a great father figure. You can also see he is trying his best to show he has changed from who he was in the past. He is so caring and attentive to Mel and Phoebe, how can you not fall in love?

Dan is Mel’s one and only but she has been cast aside for his music enough that she cannot trust him. She blocks him and then almost five years later, he returns. Now she not only has her heart to protect but their daughter’s as well. Dan wants back in her life and when he manages to do that, he learns about Phoebe. He then lets Mel know that he wants them to be a family. Mel wants to believe him but his past actions cause her to doubt him. It doesn’t help that her Dad was in a band and chose them over the big moments for her while she was growing up. Mel needs to learn if she can trust Dan, and also why her Mom stayed with her Dad. Maybe then she can accept him into their lives fully.

Enticing Mel, A Rock Star Romance / True Platinum Series Book 3, Morgana Bevan

Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews

Genre: Romance, General fiction ( Adult)

I was really intrigued by the Mel/Dan conundrum in the last book so excited to read this. I found the same issues for me personally as in the last book, a bit light on drama, lots of potential but its pretty much over before it starts.

Dan was a flake, did he really just expect her to wait around like a good little girl for when he was ready? Its taken a long while for that to happen, and he just seems surprised that now he's ready she's not jumping for joy!
Mel, I so felt for her, but she's done a great job with Phoebe, and of course its not just her Dan's decisions affect, so she needs to be cautious. Phoebe was a star, a little advanced for a four year old but a real sweetheart. I like that Mel has never hidden who her daddy is, always been open and never bad mouthed him. I did feel Mel over-reacted but given Dan's past actions in a way it was understandable.

I did wonder was Dan really so self absorbed that he didn't try to find out why she cut him off, made a bit more effort? But then we wouldn't have this story so ;-) It seems like he'd just decided it was a good thing, he could get on with fame and fortune and when he came back she'd welcome him with open arms ( and legs....) I did wonder if he'd gone the rock star route, taking advantage of all the free sex it offered or if he'd stayed true to Mel. Whether he still regarded them as together but just apart by distance, or whether he saw it as a temporary break that left them free to do as they wanted.

Its a fun read, real situations and very likable characters, even when I found them frustrating, over reactive, not reactive enough! For me though its lacking the essential drama I need from a book like this, that's on me, others rightly love it. Not all books suit all readers. I enjoyed this but wouldn't re-read and don't think I'll continue with this series if there are more.

Stars: three, an easy read but light on drama for me.

This story was a wonderful continuation to this interconnected series. I loved being able to see the see the love story of a character that readers of the previous books. I absolutely loved the use of the tropes of once childhood sweethearts, second chance, and a secret child. They were intertwined nicely together, and brought together a really great story. Thank you NetGalley for an arc of this story.

Mel and Dan dated when they were teenagers, but he put his flourishing career as a rockstar above their relationship. After being let down one too many times, when Mel discovers she’s pregnant, she feels she has no choice but to go it alone. But now their daughter is four, and Dan’s band has returned to Wales. Dan is determined to pick up their relationship where it left off, but he has no idea about Mel’s secret, and she’s not sure how to tell him - especially as his band is on the cusp of stardom, and their past has taught her he can’t be trusted to put her first.

I enjoyed reading this, I think more so than the other book in this series I’ve read, Winning Nia. It’s a gentle but entertaining read. Morgana Bevan is a very engaging writer, and I found this book hard to put down once I started it. I just wanted to know how and if Mel and Dan would overcome their problems to form a solid relationship, and for the most part, I enjoyed how this played out.

Mel was a good character - I liked her resourcefulness and determination. Dan was harder for me to warm to. I have to say, I found him quite as annoying - not as annoying as I found James in his book, but I did find him quite entitled and it was frustrating how long it took him to see the damage his past behaviour had done to Mel. That said, I did warm to him as the book went on. There was a lot of focus on him actually working to develop a relationship with his daughter, and Mel, that was quite endearing; I liked that he did actually put the work in. This wasn’t a big grovel kind of book - the effort was gentler and more considered, and I thought it worked really well.

I will say, though, that the central conflict between Mel and Dan was very repetitive from the previous novel, Winning Nia. The way they broke up was almost identical, as was Dan’s almost wilfully-ignorant pursuit of Mel in light of how he treated her as a teenager. This even played out in the way their issues came to a head - their final argument was very similar, in my opinion, to Nia and James’ argument. I enjoyed how this played out more, but did find certain aspects of the story very similar.

Overall, though, it was a good book. The writing is very strong and the plotting is well-paced, and I’m very impressed with the author for making me care about this relationship despite my issues with Dan as a hero. I would happily read another book in this series - the first one is on my TBR and I’ll be keeping an eye out for the next instalments. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing a free copy of this book.

Quick Summary: Enticing Mel by Morgana Bevan was something else!

My Review: Love and Rock & Roll stories will always be winners in this reader's eyes. This romance was all aces, in that respect. The chemistry that existed between D and M was incredible. I don't think they could have ever stayed away from each other. Their ups and downs were understandable. Their desire to be together was worth the fight. The timing of celebrity and their inevitable reunion was tense. The emotional arc was palpable. It all worked.

On a side note, Jared completely intrigued me. Seriously!!! There seemed to be more to him, and I was here for it. E and J had sparks. I cannot wait to see what their story reveals. Bring it on!

Love and rock & roll...yes!

Enticing Mel is a true escape within the pages of a book, filled with adventure, rekindled romance and second chances.

Rockstar and jilted high school flame are reunited and he’s a baby daddy, unbeknownst to him. Sweet storyline with cute characters. An easy, escape read that’s part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone as well.

Two lines on a pregnancy test begins this rock star romance. When Melanie Griffiths sees the result of the test, she contacts her musician boyfriend, Daniel Lloyd, but he is busy. Their relationship has been on and off again as he travels to promote his musical career. Although he tried to contact her, she has moved on with her life with their daughter, Phoebe. Mel had enough of musicians as her father was never home for her. When Dan finally returns to town, he is shocked to find that he has a daughter, why didn’t she tell him? For those few years his music consumed every moment of his life, but now he is resentful of the time he missed with his daughter. Can she make him understand that she was doing what she felt was best for both she and Phoebe? Will he be able to woo her again and show her that all he wants is to be there for them? An entertaining romance as they come to terms with past mistakes, his career, her career and their love for each other and their daughter. Actual rating 3.75

I enjoyed this one, I'm not usually a fan of secret pregnancies but since we basically missed that I'm giving it a pass. I do love second chances and watching people grow and learn from their mistakes and this one hit just right.

Dan is a complete prat, a guy in total love but a prat none the less. After talking through him leaving with Mel and then to not even bother to talk to her about their amazing opportunity before they got the gig. I do think Mel went a teensy bit overboard on her meltdown but it is understandable despite the annoyance.

Phoebe was the icing on the cake of this book. She was so cute and god do i remember what it's like with young kids. I was never alone so i can only imagine how that felt. I really loved the fact that Mel never hid who her dad was, and that Dan fit right into the family even when he was out of his depth with the small child. Phoebe made me unable to put the book down. I loved that she wanted her parents together and was wanting to help Dan get them back together.

I liked the sneak peak at Ella and Jared's book, i am definitely interested in reading that one! I may have to go back and read the others in this series now though.

𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐞𝐥 makes for the third book in 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐁𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐧'𝐬 True Platinum Series. the book can be read as a standalone, but as someone who has not read the previous books and dived headfirst into this one, I would highly recommend reading the first two books so you're not scratching your head when additional characters are introduced with little to no information😅

that being said though, this was an enjoyable read that I devoured in a couple of hours! second chance romances are extremely underrated imo, and 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐞𝐥 approached the trope well🥰

𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐞𝐛𝐞, 𝐌𝐞𝐥 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐚𝐧'𝐬 daughter is the cutest, patootiest and most feisty four year old I've read about — she's adorable, and I like that her character wasn't conveniently forgotten lol😆

𝐌𝐞𝐥 was an interesting female protagonist to read about for sure. the fact that her past experiences affected her relationship with 𝐃𝐚𝐧 so much made sense, but also called for a bit of angst, which was great. 𝐃𝐚𝐧 on the other hand was the sweetest dad, and his relationship with 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐞𝐛𝐞 is exactly the kind I'd want my future kids to have with their dad someday🥺.

to be honest, I didn't feel very strongly about the couple, or 𝐃𝐚𝐧 as a partner, which also didn't make the steam all that special for me. I think both of the characters played really stupid at some points, but 𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐚'𝐬 writing had me invested enough! I'll definitely be reading more of her books in the future, and will probably also go back and read the first two books in the series seeing how easy to read this one was.

*Note: this is book 3 in the True Platinum series but can be read as a standalone. I have not read any of the other books, but had no issue reading this installment!*

A second chance rockstar romance with a surprise pregnancy to kick start it all off?!

This honestly surprised the heck out of me.

From the cover and title alone, I was only expecting a sexy and steamy read, but you actually get SO much more than that! There were tender and realistic moments in this that brought literal tears to my eyes.

Straight off the bat, I was wholeheartedly rooting for Mel. She'd been involved with rockstar Dan for over a decade. A rockstar who comes in and out of her life because he prioritizes his career over everything. One unprotected romp with him later, Mel's pregnant and can't even break the news to the father because he's too preoccupied to take her call. It's one thing for her to get blown off, but she doesn't want that kind of disappointment for her kid so she decides to have her child on her own. And that's just in the prologue.

The main story takes place four years later when Dan and his band relocate home. Dan is oblivious about his child and clueless as to why Mel keeps him at arm's length. Regardless of the constant rejection, he's determined to win her back.

We then get to witness Mel and Dan rekindle their relationship and rebuild the trust that was shattered years ago. I loved Mel's independence, strength, and vulnerability. I 100% supported her decisions throughout the book, though I was a little surprised at how quickly she gave in to Dan. With that kind of history and attraction though, who can blame her. Her reactions, considering how jaded she is from her relationship with Dan and witnessing her parents' dynamic growing up, are very human and understandable.

Dan was quite charming and his antics on getting Mel back were commendable, not to mention the things he does to her in bed-or any surface they can get it on on-hot af. However I didn't really feel a connection with him, maybe it's because this was solely written in Mel's POV?

Regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed Mel and Dan's story; their relationship isn't perfect but they're trying.

4.5 rounded up to 5 stars.

Enticing Mel was not what I expected. I had images of this book being an erotic romance because of the cover. Instead, I got a real look at what it must be like to love a rock star. The glimpse into the worry and choices made seemed realistic and it was interesting to see how Mel and Dan handled the choices in their relationship. I enjoyed that Dan was all in and so dedicated to getting Mel back. He really hurt her at the beginning of their relationship and everything he did to win her back was awesome. I am glad I had the opportunity to read this book because it fulfilled the need for a man who knew what he wanted and did everything he could to win the woman he loved.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for making it possible for me to read this book. Opinions are all mine!

While I did finish reading this one, I did struggle some. The story would hold my interest, then I would find my mind wondering… I powered through and would be interested again.
Wash. And repeat.
I loved Mel and her daughter. Mel was a very well written character who will have you rooting for her from the first few pages. Dan… I never really got into Dan. Not a good book boyfriend to me which could be why I had a hard time staying interested in this story. I don’t really understand why she took him back…

I just loved this book. A real page turner that I couldn’t seem to put down, a British take in the rockstar romance, only not only are we in Wales, but the band is starting out and Mel is living a real life, bringing up her daughter on her own and juggling it all. Some excellent dialogue between Dan and Mel and little Phoebe as well as between the life long friends and family that are central to the story. I can’t recommend it enough - just start it early when you don’t have to be up too early the next day!

Thank you NetGalley and Victory Editing NetGalley Co-op for an arc for my honest opinion. This was the first book that I have read by Morgana Bevan and all I can think is WOW, I loved the characters' interactions and problems that seem real and relatable. It's an easy romance read that I couldn't put down. I would definitely recommend it.
