I've read this author's work before and I've enjoyed everything for the most part. I liked the fertility mix up spin for the plot. What a way to meet someone, right? I thought it was well-written and although I never really felt surprised while reading, I enjoyed it.

A very cute read. I was intrigued by the plot and was looking forward to reading the novel, and it didn't disappoint. That being said, there are few flaws I'd like to point out - the plot itself is quite serious enough, so at times it seemed to me like the novel lacked in emotional depth; it was like it had been written in, by you couldn't have felt it exactly... But overall, quite pleasant read I'd gladly recommend. 3.5 stars.

Cassidy is 18 and takes a DNA home genetic test to learn more about her ancestry. The surprising news is that her mom Hannah, who gave birth to her and raised her, is not biological her mother due to a mix up at the fertility clinic. Her biological mother Maggie never had children and is stunned to learn she has an almost grown daughter. The storyline is interesting and I like the maturity of both moms as they accept one another into their lives with obvious concern for their girl. The coincidence that they are attracted to each other and begin a relationship works out sweetly. If anything I think the angst moment was almost out of character after the maturity and time spent together.

This is a fun quick read and lighter than I expected from the brief synopsis. Hannah especially has a silly sense of humor and banter. This is also a book people who love horse will enjoy. Thank you to NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for an eARC in exchange for an honest review.

One day while researching her heritage and DNA, eighteen-year-old Cassidy Kennedy and her mother, Hannah, get some earth shattering results. They contact the DNA company to discuss if a mistake could have occurred and while the DNA company thinks that isn’t the case, they agree to send the Kennedy’s another DNA test kit. The same life changing results are delivered. They reveal that Hannah is not Cassidy’s biological mother.

A name who was already in the DNA system is disclosed to be Cassidy’s biological mother. Hannah contacts the woman, Maggie Walsh, to discuss the situation. The three women eventually agree to meet. The resemblance between Maggie and Cassidy is uncanny. Cassidy agrees to get to know Maggie, especially since they hold a common interest in horses and riding. However, Cassidy also makes it clear that Hannah is her mother.

Over time Maggie and Hannah grow close and become romantic.

I really enjoyed this well written book. It only contained a handful of main characters which suits my taste perfectly. I was anxious to see what would unfold between Cassidy and Maggie and the subsequent impact on Cassidy’s relationship with Hannah. But I also loved the romantic relationship that was developing between Maggie and Hannah. Such an interwoven and rich story. 4 stars

Hannah Kennedy has a 18 year old daughter through the help of a sperm donor. Now her daughter, Cassidy wants to find out more about her other half so she signs up to a DNA registry.
Hannah also sends her DNA in along with her daughter only to find out she is not Cassidy's biological mother. How is this even possible?
Maggie Walsh has previously signed up for the registry and is notified that a close relative, a daughter is out there. Maggie has no daughter so why is she getting this notice.
Hannah and Cassidy decide to contact Maggie to find out more about the woman and what she's like.
Maggie and Cassidy want to know each other and Hannah encourages this. Soon Hannah and Maggie start to realize they are attracted to each other.
Can this even work for the three of them?

This is an interesting story but seemed a little slow and I would expect a lot more drama when finding out your child isn't yours after all.

Thank you #NetGalley #BoldStrokesBooks for this ARC

Interesting storyline. Mix up at fertility clinic. A difficult situation for all concerned. What is the right thing to do? The 2 mothers and the daughter seem to be tackling the situation with thoughtfulness and concern. Liked the story. The situations arising were predictable but that was OK. Don't think I've read any of this author's books before but will look out for them now.

Missed Conception is a book where unsuspecting leads were placed on a collision course due to a bizarre set of circumstances and romance was birthed instead.

When Hannah Kennedy’s daughter, Cassidy wanted to learn more about her parentage, she never expected Hannah to not be her biological mum. When a total stranger, Maggie Walsh turns out to be that person instead, Hannah and Maggie were brought together to handle the aftermath.

The attraction was instant and I think the courtship was adorable. I like them together and through their get togethers and dates, its heartening that expressions of adoration and love need not be bound by age. Stumbles were to be expected in a fast developed romance but for ladies in their 40s not looking to play the field, it was a relationship where they knew where they were headed.

I just reviewed Missed Conception by Joy Argento. Thank you NetGalley and Bold Strokes Books for the ARC.

Maggie is thrown into the lives of Hannah and her daughter Cassidy after a life altering mix up is discovered. As they all get to know each other it becomes clear that the situation, though it has a downside, has allowed Hannah and Maggie to find love.
I really liked this newest release from Joy Argento. I’ve now read a few of her books and find them to be consistently entertaining and well written. I liked the characters and felt like they had good chemistry together as well. Cassidy was also a great character though I felt like she wasn’t as well developed of a character compared to Hannah and Maggie. The two MCs have some unusual issues to overcome and it made for an engaging plot. Overall great book worth a read!

The book is set 19 years after 2 women went into a fertility clinic. One gave birth to a baby girl and the other lived with the regret of not having children. When the mixup become obvious the 3 women try to make sense of the spin this puts on their lives. Cassidy always loved horses so when it turns out her bio mum own a stable it makes bonding easier. Hannah on the other hand is terrified of horses but Maggie’s offer to help her turn into a passionate love story. It’s well written and I enjoyed the humour. It has a little angst that was somewhat predictable but overall a pleasant read.

First and foremost thank you to Bold Strokes Books, Inc., Netgalley, and Joy Argento for this Advanced Reader Copy in exchange for my honest review.

Missed Conception is the story of overcoming loss and finding love again. Hannah and Maggie are both single middle aged women who have learned to flourish as single indepedent women. However when Cassidy, Hannah's daughter, takes a genetic test they find out that Hannah might not be her mom after all. Enter Maggie, who has always wanted her own child, who finds out that she may have a daughter after all. As these three women come to terms with their new reality things become complicated when each woman starts to keep secrets from each other.

This book was a fun quick read, and especially as an equestrian, it is so nice to pick up a book with horses and not cringe everytime the characters interact with a horse. I really appreciate the author doing the research to make everything more accurate.

In summation this is a super fun book with great representation and I highly recommend it!
