An Accident in Paris by Gavin Collinson is an intriguing conspiracy thriller. I was hooked on to the story and could not put it down until the end. I admit the ending was a tad unexpected and not up to my liking. But the twists and turns were fantastic.

We have two stories here. Marc has two cases in hand. One is infidelity case and the other is that of the car crash. We have a twist half way through - which makes it very clear to the reader that a big player is holding the strings and Marc has no idea what he's gotten himself into.

There are plenty of twists and double crossings. Some of the chapters ended with a shocking development - I had to read the last sentences twice to make sure I read them right.

This is a fast-paced conspiracy thriller. Excellent character development and plot twists. Having said that, things take an unexpected turn at the end and somehow, I felt this didn't do justice to the suspense built from the beginning.

Overall, An Accident in Paris by Gavin Collinson was an interesting and intriguing read. I am looking forward to knowing what's next for Marc Novak.

I found this book both thrilling and confusing.

It is quite obvious where the idea came from and while I enjoyed the high action and clever writing, something still doesn’t sit right with me.

I do look forward to reading a second book as I think this could turn in to an unbeatable series.

An Accident in Paris is a new series that starts out with a strong first book. The concept of a conspiracy thriller around the death of Princess Diana makes the plot rather compelling. There’s been so many speculations and unknowns about this high-profile case that it offers the ideal base for a novel in this specific genre. It’s action-packed and fast-paced, very reminiscient of blockbuster spy movies. There are quite a lot of characters and subplots, which can feel a bit discruptive and digressive at times, but in the end, it all ties up together. I would advise to read this more as a piece of fiction rather than anything else, though. Good entertainement that would translate well as a film.

Clever, beautifully written and entertaining. And, what is unusual in the mass market of contemporary domestic noir/psychological thrillers, characters you actually care about. This book has a great plot and I enjoyed reading it because it was really engrossing. I liked the characterization and the plot progression and pacing was really good.

Whip Smart…
A pacy and well crafted, high octane conspiracy thriller - a work of fiction based on the true events surrounding the death of Princess Diana in Paris in 1997. Twenty five years after the event Marc Novak, private investigator, is hired to find out what exactly did happen and who, if there is a who, is responsible for her death. It’s a tremendous read, not least because of the wonderful character created in Novak himself but also the whole cast of credible and well drawn supporting characters and the whip smart, edgy narrative. Marc Novak will return- it seems - and this reader will be waiting.
