Thank you Orion Publishing and NetGalley - Steve has done it again!
I haven't read all of Steve's books and wish I had found him earlier in my life as I just love them. Where he gets his ideas from I have no idea, but he has done it again with this novel.
So many many twists and turns, great characters with lots of humour and a great storyling.
I highly recommend.

Thank you to #Netgalley for an ARC, and a chance to read & review #TheAccomplice by #SteveCavananagh.
#TheAccomplice is Steve Cavanagh's 7th Eddie Flynn novel. The books can be read as standalones but I'd advise starting with No. 1 in the series The Defence & then read in order to get the full benefit of the background story.
Eddie Flynn is a defence lawyer who will only represent people he thinks are innocent. His client Carrie Miller has been charged with being an accomplice to the 14 murders carried out by her husband serial killer Daniel aka The Sandman.
Eddie as always is assisted in his mission to find the truth by fellow lawyer Katie & the inscrutable Bloch who protects &investigates. In The Accomplice the group is joined by exFBI agent Gabriel Lake who has personal experience of The Sandman.
Steve Cavanagh is an expert at creating tension & then he keeps ratcheting that tension up. There is so much going on in The Accomplice- courtroom drama, legal thriller, serial killer on the loose. Its like riding a roller coaster- is Carrie Miller innocent or guilty?
This is a pageturning absorbing read. It is dark & twisty and now I can't wait for Eddie Flynn no.8.
Bravo Steve Cavanagh

I read a lot of crime fiction but not usually where it has a courtroom setting. However Steve Cavanagh’s Eddie Flynn series is one that I will always be eager to read.I know I’m guaranteed a brilliant backstory that runs alongside the drama in court.
The Accomplice is the latest book in the series, it could be read as a standalone but you will be doing yourself a huge favour if you read them in order. Not just to be familiar with the characters, but also because they are so entertaining.
Eddie Flynn has little choice but to take on the trial of the wife of the notorious Sandman. Running out of money, he believes in her innocence and when the case becomes more personal he has to try anything to get the case dismissed. But the case is more difficult than he expected it to be, and he is aware that he is running out of time.
I don’t read a lot of courtroom based fiction because they don’t grip me the same way as a detective led book does. I don’t connect to the characters. However Eddie is different. He just about manages to stay clean whilst making his opposing lawyer look dodgy. It was strange to read an often harrowing account but smiling as I did.
Told by a handful of narrators, including the brilliant Bloch, The Accomplice gets increasingly tense right up to the absolutely fascinating last few chapters. Everything I thought would happen didn’t and I just gave up trying to work out what the outcome would be. I loved every page of this book, I hope there is more to come.

Earlier this year I finally caught up with the Eddie Flynn series, as I started with Thirteen years ago, not realizing that it was part of a series and that there were previous books in the series. That being said, this was certainly great timing because it meant I finally had all the backstory before reading The Accomplice! This book started out as a fairly standard legal thriller, which is not a bad thing at all, but things really heated up as I got further through; “standard” became the last word I could use to describe this book, because oh my, it went above and beyond. Master of the twists and all, Steve Cavanagh did what he does best, pulling wool over my eyes and not letting me see the hidden layers of this story until much, much later.

The ending really does deserve its own paragraph, so here it is. That doesn’t mean I have any coherent thoughts about it though; simply, WHAT. I need book eight right now, and I’m sure hoping we get to see more of Gabriel Lake.

Another gem from a brilliant author. I love this author and this is one that hasn’t disappointed. This is a book that has pulled me in and I have devoured in just one sitting.
Addictive plot, great characters and a book that is worthy of all the praise.

Eddie Flynn is one of the greatest characters in the past decade. Another rollercoaster ride for Flynn and an artfully assembled supporting cast - one that i ploughed through in 2 sittings.

Another incredible instalment from the Eddie Flynn series! This one wasn't as exciting or gripping as The Devil's Advocate but nevertheless it was fun and intriguing. I loved the slight difference that this book had compared to others in the series and would highly recommend it to all readers who enjoy mystery/detective fiction.

Eddie Flynn is back & he never fails to entertain. The Accomplice is the 7th in this series by Steve Cavanagh but can be stand alone reads. I was 1st introduced to Eddie when I was recommended Th1rt3en and I was hooked from the very first chapter. I immediately bought the 3 previous books : The Defence, The Plea & The Liar, so that I could read in sequence. I can highly recommend doing this as you really get to know the main characters and how they develop.

I was giddy with excitement when I was approved by @NetGalley to receive an advanced copy to read, which I devoured in 2 sittings. Apologies for not leaving my review earlier.

In this episode, we meet a serial killer dubbed ‘The Sandman’ and it’s not very long before we discover why. Still sing a little ditty when I mention him. His victims are brutally murdered and what he takes as souvenirs is quite traumatic but become a link for Eddie and the FBI to decipher, very clever – it took me quite a while to see the pattern. ‘The Sandman’ leaves enough evidence to lead FBI agent Paige Delaney to his home which in turn incriminates his wife Carrie.

In typical Steve Cavanagh style, he weaves a clever, well thought out roller coaster of a ride. He certainly plays with your mind as he twists and turns events – simply magnificent !

What can I say. Another great book by the fabulous Steve Cavanagh. He never disappoints and this book is no exception. Brilliant.

A new Eddie Flynn book is always something I’m pleased to see and I was delighted to receive a copy from Netgalley to review.

This time out the little team of Bloch, Kate, Eddie and Harry feel like they have properly settled in to working together and Eddie seems more comfortable listening to their opinions as well.

As expected this was another tightly crafted story that kept me reading and my brain engaged trying to figure out what exactly was going on – because in Cavanagh’s books there is always something else happening! I was incredibly pleased with myself for working out part of it (admittedly only about 2 pages ahead of it becoming obvious) but there were (as usual!) plenty of things I missed too!

Its incredibly hard to review the actual story without giving any of the plot away so I won’t, I’ll just say if you a fan of the previous Flynn books or are looking for a smart crime thriller then this one is worth picking up.

I thought we’d hit peak Eddie Flynn with the last Steve Cavanagh book but I've been proved wrong.

The Accomplice sees Flynn & Brooks take on client Carrie Miller, wife of notorious serial killer The Sandman. Carrie claims she knew nothing about her husband’s night-time pursuits but she’s being put on trial as his accomplice – as witness statements emerge of sightings of two people in the victim’s vicinity at the time of the killings. Nobody, except Eddie and his team, believes that and so the race is on to defend her from being convicted.

Meanwhile The Sandman, who has been in hiding since Carrie’s arrest, strikes again and this time it’s the witnesses that are his target…

It’s another fast paced, unputdownable ride from the pen of Cavanagh. Everything you love from Flynn is here including his underhand, yet legal, ways of getting results. And with multiple viewpoints from characters you know and care about (or will, if this is your first outing) and also a smattering of journal entries which give the reader extra insight into what Carrie actually did know, you’ll be hooked from the Prologue.

I must fully confess to loving this latest Flynn – from the build up to the trial, some pretty gruesome Sandman sequences, plus a wee nod to a previous book. Right down to the “wait, what??” (said out loud, in public) twists as the book draws to its conclusion and Eddie aims to knock the Prosecution for six – in what seems an impossible case to prove Carrie’s innocence.

But that’s what the Flynn books are all about. Good versus evil – with good winning out most of the time. A recent event saw Steve being asked if there’d be another Eddie Flynn book. We were told yes – Eddie will last forever, but as for the other characters – all bets are off!

This is another Five Star Flynn for me.

Love this author and read most of his books! Overall, I really enjoyed this dark, chilling, well-plotted story. It was intense and fast paced and I raced through this in a few hours, frantically turning the pages, desperate to find out how it was all going to be resolved. With that dramatic ending, I wasn’t disappointed! I’m already looking forward to the author’s next book. Top marks!

Thank you Netgalley once again for letting me review another book from Steve Cavanagh I have become a real fan after I first read Thirteen on here and get so excited when another book becomes available. I now have a big collection of his books and also have many signed copies and a personal one from the author himself as well as an I love Eddie Flynn mug which I use all the time.

Now Back to the review what can I say it has taken me a few days to think of how I can write in words how amazing this book was there are really no words other than BLOWN AWAY ....

This book was full of hold-my-breath moments with twists and turns and the plot twists were so good they gripped me to the last page and I never saw it coming till the very moment they were happening.

I can't wait for the next book they keep getting better and better each time I can't tell you how much I recommend this author he has a way with words and his storytelling is amazing he just has a certain magic that I can't explain and just captures this in words is truly magical thanks again Steve you are a master of books.

I would love to see any of these books as a TV series that's for sure.

If I ever need a Lawyer I hope I get one just like Eddie ....

As a huge fan of Eddie Flynn series I want to thank the publisher for giving me access to read The Accomplice early! As every previous book, this was also really clever, engaging and funny!

I love Steve's writing and I couldn't miss another meeting with my favourite lawyer! Although the author broke not just Eddie's heart but also mine in the previous book...

Imagine what would happen if your husband was a serial killer? The Accomplice takes us to Carrie Miller's trial, a woman who's been accused of being her husband's accomplice in series of murders. She swears her innocence, yet she's going to face the jury. In the last moments before the trial, her lawyer became a prosecution's witness and he can't defend her anymore. Luckily Eddie and his team agree to help her.

The book is full of plot twists, smart solutions and it's really well written!

I enjoy reading the cross examination done by Eddie's team - it's always so brilliant and often funny too!

Definitely a must-read!

Steve Cavanagh has done it again! His latest novel has all the ingredients that a novel needs to keep you on the edge of your seat! How does he think of such clever plots?
In this one our hero, defence lawyer, Eddie Flynn is asked to defend Carrie Miller who has been accused of aiding her husband, Daniel, in the business of murder. Daniel is a serial killer but the police and FBI have been unable to locate him and he remains in hiding. At the last minute her own lawyer cannot take the case so Eddie and his team, including partner Kate, investigator Bloch and retired judge Harry, step in.
Eddie will not defend anyone he believes is guilty but Carrie convinces him of her innocence so they decide to take the case. In the course of the investigations the killer, Carrie’s husband starts murdering witnesses using his trademark call sign which is leaving sand in the corpses. He even thinks of himself as the “Sandman”! When someone close to Eddie is taken by the Sandman he must do everything he can to defend Carrie, the so called accomplice, otherwise the Sandman threatens his worst.
This book is so twisted with many unexpected surprises along the way that I really couldn’t guess the outcome of the story. I raced through it in a couple of days and I must say the last few pages were especially compelling! I loved catching up with all the characters and really enjoyed meeting Gabriel Lake, the ex FBI agent who is called in to help. His nervousness and hidden back story make for an interesting new character in the Eddie Flynn novels. I hope he appears in the next book!
This is definitely a five star read for me and I highly recommend for all crime thriller fans. It helps if you’ve read the earlier books in the series but it could easily be read as a stand alone. In fact I suggest you read the previous Eddie Flynn novels as they really are all amazing!
Thanks to NetGalley and Orion for my arc.

'Being married to a serial killer is murder'

Daniel Miller AKA the Sandman is a serial killer who so far has murdered fourteen people before vanishing and leaving his wife to take the rap, the FBI can't have him so they'll take her as his accomplice because everyone, including her closest friends, believes she must have known what he was doing and now she has nobody, that is until Eddie Flynn is asked to defend her, and he will only take a case if he's certain the client is innocent, he just needs to convince the jury that she is. When the Sandman hears of her arrest he comes out of hiding to save her from prison and he will kill anyone that gets in his way!

Eddie Flynn is back in this latest legal thriller by Canavagh and it was great to see him return with Kate, Bloch and Harry to assist him, this time they had some extra help from ex FBI agent Gabriel Lake who knows how to catch serial killers and is determined to get his hands on the Sandman. The Accomplice hits the ground running and kept me on the edge of my seat throughout, it's a gritty and gory thriller that is well crafted and full of twists and that ending was brilliant. One thing is for sure I'll never listen to Mr Sandman again without thinking about this book. Full marks for this one Mr Cavanagh, the best of the series so far!

I'd like to thank Orion and Netgalley for the auto approval, I will post my review on Amazon and Goodreads.

Another fantastic Eddie Flynn novel, I think I enjoyed this even more than The Devil's Advocate, which is saying something! This was a case which Eddie wasn't sure at first whether or not to take, however, The Sandman trial is the biggest case in the country. Eddie and his team need to prove that the killer's wife was not an accomplice to his crimes. I felt that this was the best plot yet in the series, very absorbing, I love the style of writing as it really draws you in. Gabriel Lake was an interesting character, former FBI agent, just how is he operating, I thought he worked well with the rest of the team. Tense courtroom exchanges, plenty of action, twists, Eddie flying by the seat of his pants (we'd be disappointed if he didn't), risk taking and pulses racing. Brilliant! Loved it and would highly recommend.

Book 7 in the Eddie Flynn series based in the lawyers hometown of New York, this one was an absolute blast.

Here Eddie find himself defending the wife of a serial killer named The Sandman. Although The Sandman has escaped capture, his wife has been charged as an accomplice, with evidence being found in her closet that incriminates her.

This one is a rollercoaster of a ride. So fast paced, you may forget at times you are holding your breath as you turn the page.

Eddie, although heavily featured, this time shares the pages much more with his team as they try and put the puzzle together. There are so many twists and turns here you will be dizzy trying to keep up.

Some might find towards the end that there are maybe a few too many twists for its own good and I did ponder marking down a star for that very reason but, on reflection I hugely enjoyed the ending and I just had so much fun reading this book I couldnt mark it anything but 5 stars.

Thanks to the publisher for the ARC through Netgalley.
