Fun, funny, fabulous, romantic, feel good, uplifting, and really well written. This book is about finding yourself and accepting yourself for who you are, you are you, and that is wonderful and something to be celebrated

What a moving a wonderful book. There was so much going on in this book and really liked that you got to see the mother and daughter POV and see the relationship from both sides. Riggs and Tae are meant to be, both broken but together whole again. They see the real person in each other, they see each other’s heart. Their heat was off the charts, the first part of the book when they were trying to resist each other and just be friends, that was torture! I felt all their frustration 🤣. More than one HEA by the end and I loved it.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

Raised by her mother, who was a teenager at time, Tae wants to know who her father is, but her mother isn’t telling her anything.

Tae gets a job, working as an events coordinator for a company where athletes with disabilities and wounded warriors are given care and attention.

Riggs, who has returned from working as a marine, overseas meets Tae, they had a brief encounter in high school.

Each has a troubled past, and don’t let people get close. But he wants to help state find out about her father. Both have feelings for the other.

Will Tae and Riggs remain as friends or will they let themselves fall in love?

I fell in love with this book from the very first page! Reading it felt like spending an afternoon with an old friend - warm, cosy and full of gentle humour. Although Tad is kind of grumpy and stubborn, there is something so inherently likeable about her that you can’t help but root for her to find happiness. Riggs on the other hand, is just heaven, the perfect hero! I put off reading this for a while as I wasn’t sure if I’d like the mother daughter sub plot, but actually I loved it. It gave the book a lot more substance and emotional depth, without detracting from the upbeat, hopeful tone of it. I also loved the Lake Tahoe setting and hope there will be more books in the series set here.

When Tae mistakes a car for her Uber she doesn't expect to come face to face with Riggs, she hasn't seen him since high school, and she definitely didn't expect their night to take a turn after an incident at the grocery store.

Riggs is back in town but only for the summer, he hopes to help his brother with their business and take a break after he just left the military and prepares for his next job.

While he is in town Tae and Riggs have to work together and the proximity is bringing back memories and hidden feeling for both but Tae is looking for a long-term relationship while Riggs is only staying in town temporarily.

Tae is questioning a lot of thing in her life, her father was a mystery for her whole life, she is ready to get some answers but her mother doesn't seem willing to help, she must find out on her own.

I liked their chemistry and the romance a lot, the relationship proceed in a slower pace due to the uncertainties that surrounded them byt it was very fun to see them rediscovering their attraction.

* I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.
