Kate Bromley’s writing and banter between Winnie and Liam is everything in this book, the comebacks between them are so cleverly funny.
This book has been on my TBR for ages and now that I’ve finally read it, I can’t believe I didn’t read it sooner.
Here for The Drama is an easy read, that will take you in the world of Theatre (for Liam) or Theater ( for Winnie) and you’ll be swept off your feet with the charm of London, small English villages and the charm of the main characters themselves.
I really recommend this book to all Kate Bromley’s novices. After “Talk Bookish To Me” this is another 5 star read.

Winnie is a very relatable heroine, passive and struck by imposter syndrome. The dynamic between Winnie and Juliette is what sets the bar through this story. Loved it!

Online dating definitely makes for fun and cringeworthy experiences so there is plenty of humour in the earlier chapters.

Reading this was effortless it was engaging and fun. Really enjoyed.

I really loved Kate Bromleys debut Talk Bookish To Me so I knew I had to read this one and I'm glad I did. Kate Bromley writes some great witty banter and this book really made me laugh in parts. I really enjoyed the story line with Winnie, Liam and Juliette. The story was well developed and a good mix of funny, heartfelt and swoony. I loved the end it put a huge smile on my face. There was a scene with Ollie that gutted me so hard 😢 I'm a sucker for animals in books. A very enjoyable story and im looking forward to her next one.

I really enjoyed Talk Bookish To Me so as soon as I saw this one I knew I had to read it.

This book was such a fun, witty rom com and is perfect for anyone looking for a quick and light read.

I adore the way Kate Bromley writes and the banter between her characters is just spot on. Winnie is an amazing character who is always just trying to do her best and help others out. I really felt for her and couldn't help but root for her!

I definitely recommend this one and Talk Bookish To Me!

I really enjoyed Talk Bookish to Me so was looking forward to this one too. Here for the Drama has lots of the same ingredients and still exisits in the world of writing, just this time it’s scripts.

Winnie was a very relatable heroine. Somewhat passive at the start of the novel and probably struck by a bit of imposter syndrome, hence the unfinished play.

The dynamic between her and Juliette was a little Devil Wears Prada but with Juliette actually being likeable and also full of her own insecurities. Her persistence and demanding attitude is what sets the story rolling through until our heroine can start taking her life into her own hands.

Online dating experiences definitely make for fun and cringeworthy experiences so there is plenty of humour in the earlier chapters until the person Winnie is seemingly destined for is right under her nose although somewhat forbidden fruit due to the familial connection and his inherent distractibility.

The writing, and therefore reading was effortless and this does exactly what it says on the cover. Gives some drama but with predictable satisfaction as the curtain falls.

If you enjoy Emily Henry (or any of the books in my picture above) then these books should be added to your TBRs too. And they are allowed to be Neverending unlike the stories that they contain (that reminds me - must get back to my WIP).

Here for the Drama is a sort of sequel to Kate Bromley’s last book Talk Bookish to Me where we met Liam (the hot nerd) and Liam didn’t get the girl it this time he’s in with a shot. Winnie is an aspiring play write who has lost her bottle so has worked for her over bearing but hugely successful playwrite boss for probably a bit too long. She also happens to be Liam’s aunt so when Winnie accompanies her boss to London to have her most famous play revived Winnie and Liam come face to face for the first time after years of her buying him poorly fitting jumpers that he wears because he is the sweetest hot nerd in town. How could Winnie resist? She can’t. But she should. But she doesn’t.
I had a good time with this, I love a hot nerd and Liam is a good one I’m glad he got his happy ending and there was a bit with a dog and some stuff with the aunt and a long lost love and some family drama so all in all there was quite a lot of meat to get into there aside from the romance stuff. It was all good.

The romance in this fell a little flat for me but I loved Winnie, her development and the progression of her relationship with Juliette!

I loved Kates first book, TALK BOOKISH TO ME, so was really excited for this one, and it didn’t disappoint.

Winnie is a wanna be playwright, working as an assistant for Juliet, an award winning (but difficult) writer.
Most of the book takes place in London, where they are preparing for a showing of Juliet’s play. I loved the insights into the theatre world!
Along the way, Winnie meets Liam. Now Liam is CHARMING! He’s chilled, a little shy, and super sweet. The perfect compliment to Winnie who is lively, bold and dramatic.
The dialog between the two is superb and hello… Barry Manaloe and Milkshakes! I’m here for it!

In summary, I actually think this was better than her first book, and I’d highly recommended it.

I loved this book. Winnie and Liam's romance story was perfect and adorable and really got me in the feels. I loved their banter and chemistry. This author knows how to write romance and I can't wait to read more by her.

The story of Winnie and Liam. Winnie is an aspiring playwrite, in London with her boss, who happens to be her boss's nephew. They start to fall for each other, but what will happen when it is time for Winnie to return home?

I adored this book!!

This is one of the most fun, banter-filled, adorable romances I have read in a while.

First of all, I loved all the theatre refs, as an actor gal, that was great.

I just loved Winnie and Liam together. They are incredibly witty, and the romance was swoon-worthy and a little bit spicy. The way they learn each other, support each other, and the way they make up after an issue is just admirable. It's a really lovely, well-written relationship.

The other characters are very fun as well, superstar bestie, Roshni, and Miranda Priestley slash Wilhemina Slater-esque boss Juliette (with a good heart) were both excellent supporters.

Ollie is a very good boy and I cried a lot over him finding his forever home. And speaking of times I cried, Cassie's letters made me sob. It was such a beautiful way of showing love, coping, and really made me emotional.

I really, really enjoyed this book, and it reminded me of how desperately I need to read Kate Bromley's other work, and also everything she ever writes. Five stars!

I love Kate Bromley books and this one is no different, it's funny, fun and fabulous. Uplifting and a wonderful feel good storyline and I love that naughty doggo. If you love a good romcom this one is for you.

In this book we meet leading lady Winnie who has spent the last eight years working as a personal assistant for playwright Juliette. A theatre company in London decides that they would like to put on a play of one of Juliette's books and Winner gets to accompany Juliette to England o help put things together and make sure things run smoothly.

But the trip doesn't go as smoothly and is alot more hectic then Winnie was lead to believe. everyone seems to be butting heads and it doesn't seem to be the perfect break that Winnie hoped it would be. Then there's also the added complication of Juliette's nephew Lia who is a distraction that really wasn't called for.

Can Winnie rescue it all and also start her own happily ever after in the process?

A lovely summer read with likeable characters and a wonderful story arc I had a lovely weekend reading this book. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of the novel.

Winnie spends her days running around as the personal assistant to Juliette, a famous playwright. It’s the perfect job for Winnie as she has loved the theatre for as long as she can remember, even if it does mean following the whims of her boss and having no time to finish her own play. When Juliette is invited to London for a pop up production of her most famous play, she coaxes Winnie along to assist and to help cure her writers block. The trouble is, the drama doesn’t stay on the stage, but spills into Winnie’s life too…

I enjoyed Kate Bromley’s second novel. She has a great talent for writing likeable, witty characters as well as chemistry between her couples. The novel made me want to book some theatre tickets. I thought I had the plot figured out and I mostly did but there were some pleasant surprises along the way. The pace dropped in middle a little bit and I was itching to get to the next part but it didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment. The ending was satisfying and I will definitely be back for her next book.

Thank you to Kate Bromley, her publishers and NetGalley for the opportunity to review an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Winnie spends three weeks in London for her job as assistant to a playwright, and her boss’ nephew quickly catches her eye and she is sorely tempted by him, even though said boss forbids her from going after him. Winnie is torn between everything she wants - Liam, to finish writing her play, to do a good job for her boss - and she must find a way to achieve it all.

This is a quick, fun read, with lots of witty banter between shameless extrovert Winnie and charming but awkward Liam - their relationship is sweet and funny and sparking with chemistry. It skirts a little too close to instalove for my personal taste: I think I would have been able to fall into their attraction without getting hung up on how quickly it happens, except it’s constantly brought up by the character, how they’ve only known each other a week, how they only have three weeks together. (they don’t actually profess love during their initial whirlwind romance, but it still feels Very Quick.)

The rest of the cast is interesting, though it’s Ollie, the spaniel Winnie accidentally acquires, that steal the show. The story is heartwarming, lovely and perfect for summer, a light romcom that still brings some depth (one scene even managed to make me cry, in the best way.)
