#The620Man #NetGalley You know you are in for a great read with a David Baldacci book and this one is no exception. Superbly written but easy to read with lots of plot twists and turns that kept me guessing until near the end. I love the character of Travis Devine and do hope we will see him again in another book by this author. A well deserved 5 stars!

Going into a new job can be scary especially if it is something completely different to what you know, but when something happens you cannot help but put your skills to use and find the truth.

fast paced and great twists with every character being under suspicion- not everyone is as innocent as they seem.

The 6:20 Man by David Baldacci is one of his best books and looks like we may have a new character series - I hope so.
Travis has left the army and is now a financial analyst, when one of his co-workers is murdered at the office building, and it seems that Travis is told about it before she is discovered.
Travis is also intrigued about a woman who he see's every morning from the train into work at 6:20 and she lives in the house that his firms owner owns.
The story has lots of twists and turns and Travis himself becomes a suspect.
Great Read and can't wait for the next instalment with Travis Devine.

The 6:20 Man by David Baldacci.
Having survived combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq and been decorated with medals, Travis Devine mysteriously leaves the Army under a cloud of suspicion. And at thirty-two years old, he’s swapping fighting the Taliban and Al Qaeda for a different kind of danger in the cut-throat world of high finance. His daily commute on the 6.20 a.m. train into New York’s financial district, to his new job as an analyst at the minted powerhouse investment bank Cowl and Comely, takes him into a world where greed, power, jealousy and ambition result in the financial abuse of the masses and the enrichment of an elite few. But it is on this daily journey that he passes a house where he sees something that sounds alarm signals he cannot ignore. A close friend of Devine’s, Sarah Ewes, is the first victim and the mysterious circumstances surrounding her death at Cowl and Comely compel him to investigate further. As he digs deeper, he discovers strange coincidences and unnerving truths. As the deaths pile up, and the major players show their hands, he must question who he can trust and who he must fight.
A brilliant read. I did like Travis. I love David's books. 5*.

David Baldacci never fails to deliver - the reader will always want to read his books in as short a time as possible and then regret it as it finishes, that there is no more to come.

The 6:20 man is no exception. The threads are laid out and the master storyteller starts to pull them in as the story develops

He rides the 6:20 train and through the trees sees what looks to be a beautiful woman.

So what. He will never meet her.

But this is a Baldacci book and you know it must happen. But what a story plot to get us there.

Baldacci must be up there is most fiction book readers top five. Simply must be.

This is the first book in what seems to be the first in a new series by this excellent Author

Ex Army Ranger , Travis Devine has swapped Afghanistan for a new job in investment firm Cowl and Comely .
He starts his day into work , in Manhattan , on the 6.20 train - a time of day he enjoys .
One morning he receives an anonymous email stating that his ex love and co-worker , Sara Ewes has been found dead ...... a possible suicide !
But further investigations show that she was murdered and to his horror he has become a suspect - he soon realises that all is not as it seems at Cowly and Comely
He needs all the skills he learned as a soldier not just to solve Sara's murder but to keep himself alive as those guilty will do anything to keep their secrets ..

This yet another great read from the Author - Fast paced and full of twists and turns ........... if you enjoy entertaining thrillers then this is the book for you

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

Ex U.S.Ranger turned city financial trader that gets suspected of a murder in his office that was made to look like a suicide. This however is only the start of things as the murders start to mount up and the situation looks more and more bleak for him. Help comes from the most unlikely of sources as the fight back commences trying to clear his name and clear up the mystery.

I've been a fan of David Baldacci from the start and have long since lost count of the publications of his I've read. The standard is consistently high over the years and this one is no exception.
Here's to many more from this excellent author.

The 6:20 Man by David Baldacci was one of his best books David has written. I was gripped from the beginning till the end! This book is the first book in a promising new series and the main character of this book is a highly decorated ex-Army Ranger named Travis Devine. Now, Travis has left the Army and has taken a job as a rookie in financial analyst at a very competitive and successful investment firm Cowl and Comely. Six days a week Travis takes the 6:20 train from his shared home in Mount Kisco into his job in Manhattan, this is his favourite time of the day and likes to start his job early. Travis new job is so different to his previous job. One morning he receives an
anonymous email informing him that his co-worker and ex lover Sara Ewes has been found dead in one of the upper floors of their workplace. It appears to be suicide, but further investigations her death was not suicide but homicide.

Travis finds himself a suspect of her murder!

This book was superb and was full of brilliant twists and turns throughout you will find very hard to put this book down.

I highly recommend this new book of David Baldacci. I loved it. 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

There always something satisfying when you sit down to a new thriller by David Baldacci, you know it’s going to. be an exciting read with a story that keeps you guessing and The 6.20 Man lived up to all my expectations . Travis Devine is ex-army and having survived combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq, decorated with medals , he leaves the Army dry suddenly. Leaving the job he loves to immerse himself in a job he hates , the cut-throat world of high finance.

Every day he get up and takes the 6.20 a.m. train into New York’s financial district, to job as an analyst at the investment bank Cowl and Comely, On this daily journey he passes the rather impressive house belonging to his boss and owner of the bank. Every day the train stops for a signal change right by the back yard of this house. Rather bewilderingly there is a gap between the trees and the wall that allow a perfect view of the swimming pool where the very young, very beautiful second wife of Travis’s boss regularly appears in very scant bikinis. Each day Travis wonders if she is aware that she is on view, sometimes he feels like she is looking right at all the men busy ogling her from the train.

However, one morning he arrives at work to discover that one of the women from his company ,who he’s met and secretly dated , has been has been found hanged in one of the supply cupboards. But Travis discovers this before everyone else because someone sent him an email. detailing what happened, before the company has even informed their staff. As the police begin to look into the matter and Travis tries to work out who sent the email. Life suddenly changes for Travis as he realises that not everything is as it seems at Cowl and Comely. In fact everything seems off.
A wonderful read with all the suspense and thrill I’ve come to expect from this writer.

Another great book from David Baldacci!
Another great character, hope he writes more about the hero. Lots of plot twists to keep you guessing too

An adrenaline-fuelled, action packed, gripping, and highly entertaining thriller that kept me hooked since the beginning.
Travis is a man with a mysterious past, a killing machine that became part of the financial world, a world not less dangerous that his past missions.
Mystery, action, fun.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

David Baldacci always crafts excellent thrillers with interesting characters and the 6:20 Man introduces a new one, Travis Devine, an ex soldier who now works for an investment company, Cowl and Comley.
Every morning he takes the 6.20 train into the city to arrive early for a day making money for his employer.
However one day a young woman is murdered in the office and she just happens to be his ex girlfriend. Travis receives a strange email telling him about Sara Ewes’s death and when the police start to suspect him he decides to investigate. Along the way he discovers that some very bad people are using Cowl and Comley to cover up crimes and he has to use all his skills as a soldier to keep alive and work out what is going on.
This book was a great read- I really liked the way it moved at such a quick pace with many plot twists. The murder itself was only part of the conspiracy Travis uncovers and this aspect of the novel certainly kept me on my toes.
Travis was a great hero, in the vein of other Baldacci protagonists- brave and honourable but harbouring some dark secrets. I’m already looking forward to his next outing even though I only finished the book 20 minutes ago!
If you like fast paced entertaining thrillers with lots of interesting twists this is the book for you.
Thanks to NetGalley and Pan MacMillan for my arc.

My thanks to Pan Macmillan for an eARC via NetGalley of ‘The 6:20 Man’ by David Baldacci.

This is a standalone thriller set in the cut throat world of high finance.

The plot focuses upon thirty-two year old decorated Army vet, Travis Devine. He survived combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq though left the Army under a cloud of suspicion. He went back to school and has now embarked on a new career as an analyst at the minted investment firm, Cowl and Comely. Yet the world of high finance presents Travis with a different kind of danger.

The title refers to the 6.20 a.m. commuter train into New York’s financial district that Travis takes daily. In a ‘Rear Window’ moment, the train regularly stops outside a luxurious house where Travis gets a glimpse into the privileged lives of its inhabitants, specifically a beautiful woman who fascinates him. A wee bit creepy but even Travis recognises this.

When he receives a sinister email referring to a colleague, who he is secretly involved with, and they are found dead at Cowl and Comely, Travis is naturally alarmed. Then a shadowy government type pulls him in to have a word about this death and suspicious goings on at the company. Travis is compelled to investigate (that aforementioned cloud is used as leverage) and soon the coincidences and deaths begin to pile up. No further details to avoid spoilers.

I have read a fair number of Baldacci’s novels and find them fast paced and completely addictive. ‘The 6:20 Man’ continued this positive trend and proved deliciously twisty. I was glued to my e-reader from start to finish.

Travis Divine, age 32, rides the 6:20 train. He always sits in the third-row window seat on the starboard side and switches to the port side on his way back.
Travis is a killing machine or 6 ft 1 and 1/4 inches and weights180 pounds but he exchanged his army uniform for the hustle and bustle of city life. He is doing a job he hates but it is his way of doing penance. Then a body is found of a woman Travis had feelings for and soon all fingers are pointing his way. Travis is also intrigued by the mystery woman in the bikini he sees nearly every morning from the train. What is her connection to his boss and what is really going on at work?

What a brilliant read I hope this is going to be the start of a new series because I want more of Travis Divine!

Thank you to NetGalley and Pan Macmillan UK for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion

Thank you to #NetGalley and#MacMillan for my advance copy of #The6.20Man by #DavidBaldacci
In this book we meet Travis Devine who I hope is the centre of a new series of books.
A veteran of Afghanistan and now working in high finance in New York Devine stumbles into a murder investigation.
This blooms out into a whole lot of trouble.
Although I felt some questions weren’t answered, I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for the next instalment.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

would like to thank netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this book

well i struggled a bit with this one... on the one hand we had the good guy a bit like jack reacher trying his hand at high finance and then we had corruption and murder a plenty with hints at dirty money from abroad, it made for one confusing read to me...

the ending put it all in perspective but i did find it hard going... not one of my favourites by this author but we all have different tastes

Definitely in the minority judging by other reviews below but this was a DNF for me,at 15% found both the writing and the main characters hard going and certain things odd ( people living in houses worth billions do not have a train line running past their mansions, certainly not close enough that the men can spy on a lady in her pool ) VERY cliched in places and and just not for me
