What an amazing novel, There are enough life lessons embedded in this beautiful piece. Maddie and Mabel take the lead protrayed Friendship, Partnership, Love, Laughter, Support, Unity, Joy and how well to relate with one another. I recommend this book for both the elderly and younger ones, We rise by lifting others was expressly protrayed in this novel.

A great book with many lessons that can be used both at home and in a classroom.

What I love is that the books is more than one short story and we get to see these two sisters interacting in different scenarios and learn from them. There were also some great prompting questions at the end that could be used at home or for a lesson in a classroom. The book offers some great opportunities for kids to make connections to their own lives, make predictions and learn kindness.

My kid was delighted with this one! Kudos to the publisher for providing an advanced reader copy, which my kid picked out herself. She was really drawn to the cover. I’ve actually requested book 1 from the library, since my daughter liked book 2 so much!

Big sister Maddie and little sister Mabel have small kid adventures. Climbing trees, sharing snacks, and going to school for the first time. Their personalities balance with one another well, and they solve problems in concert. This just just a really pleasant book about the calmer part of sibling relationships. The book ends with some questions for grown-ups to ask about the book, to help bring the lessons into their child’s own life.

The artwork is full of motion and spirit. Even when sitting calmly on their front porch, Maddie and Mabel convey a lot of emotion. The artwork isn’t full-page coverage, but instead is little individual drawings, several to a page, showing the action of the story. Almost a comic book format without dividing lines. Almost every page has several plants, mostly wildflowers and charming weeds, giving the book a pastoral feel.

I hope my kid likes book 1 as much as book 2!

This book reminded me so much of the relationship I had with my younger sister growing up. She always wanted to do what I was doing.

This is a great book to explore sibling relationships, kindness, and independence. I enjoyed each of the different stories within the book, especially about the cookie and climbing in the tree.

Fun, engaging illustrations. Activities and thought provoking questions to ask your children are included at the end of the book

What a sweet story about two sisters! My girls really loved reading this together! I've definitely witnessed the different things in this book, especially sharing a cookie and not wanting one half to be bigger!

This review has been written after reading ‘Maddie and Mabel take the lead’ with my 8 year old daughter.

This book has a gorgeous set of short stories about Maddie and Mabel and is written in a way that is easy for young children to understand when being read to. There’s not need to explain anything as you read, making this a great bedtime read.

My 8 year old emerging-reader found the familiar pattern of the sentences helpful but the use of some complicated words didn’t match the simplicity of the story for her to read independently.

The images in the book are unique and captivating, adding to the reading experience. My daughter enjoyed exploring the images and discussing what was happening.

I really enjoyed reading this set of stories with my daughter, a cosy book.

I love this book since first page. The story is very interesting. The plot describe sweet relationship and love between sisters and their daily adventure to nonstop learning. The illustrated by Tatjana Mai-Wyss complimenting the story well with the classical style.

Thanks Netgalley and Kind Words Publising for provide me the copy.

This book was very sweet, showing a few different situations where the sisters support each other and share with each other. It is a very sweet book, easy to read, and lovely illustrations.
