Although i don't think this book would be good as a teacher, on a personal level I thought the storyline/ plot character development was great! loved the slow-burn romance with little plot twists along the way! I do think however that the text needs a fair bit of editing as i struggled to follow some parts as there seemed to be missing words or repeated phrases. Occasionally i would find myself going back a page to re-read to figure out what was happening. Was a great book though - really loved it and can't wait for the next one!

This book was LONG. I liked it, but it was way too long. It should of been max 400 pages. The beginning of the book was slow but the rest of the plot was fast paced and well thought out. I loved the characters too. Dianna was such a boss. I'm excited to buy myself a copy of this and to get the next one soon!

As the second in command to the powerful Kaden, Dianna Martinez is only looking to do one thing, protect her younger sister, Gabby, instead. Especially after giving Gabby her mortal life in exchange for forever serving under Kaden. Now, Dianna is left wondering whether she should escape from the hold Kaden has on her and run away to a far distant land where no one would find Dianna and Gabby. But, that is until Kaden wants something extremely valuable, and Dianna is now forced to be in the middle of two power hungry men, Kaden, and new introduced Liam, originally Samkiel, a millennium old God who has now come back.

I gave The Book of Azrael five stars, really enjoying the way Amber Nicole writes the tension between Liam and Dianna. It is so subtle yet in your face when you least expect it, including a romantic relationship. The more I pushed through this book, I really began to see these characters for the in depth portrayal that is done really well in this book. I like that The Book of Azrael was filled with irritation yet of aww as well an extra balance all the powers and the magic of the world. I think that this concept was well executed and fit well in this book.

I think the one part I enjoyed was the chemistry between Liam and Dianna. They were pure enemies from the start, Liam and his people would kill Dianna and her ancestors, yet when they came together, they unknowingly fit together. I think the one thing I enjoyed was the discovery of their love for each other. The build up of their relationship was slow but worth it because we were able to experience all the emotions that they felt for each other throughout the book; anger, love, lust, sadness, and also understanding. Liam and Dianna were unknowingly perfect for each other and it made me enjoy their relationship more.

I had such a fun time reading this and the one thing I must say is that the ending made me realize that we don’t have a release date for book 2, or any information for book 2. But, I’m extremely excited to dive into the world again whenever book 2 comes out.

Thank you again to NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Honestly would have given this 4 stars if it wasn’t so long. The story was really great but I think could have been completed in 2 350-page books or something along those lines.

The plot was fast-paced and amazing. the enemies-to-lovers trope was played just right. I loved badass Dianna's character. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for a copy of this book. Cant wait for the next one!

Fantasy romance, slow burn, enemies to lovers, and forbidden love?

In this story we follow Dianna who long ago gave up her life to save to her dying sister. She sold her soul to Kaden, a monster who doesn’t care about the damage he causes to the world or others around him. Kaden sends Dianna on a quest to obtain an ancient relic which causes the return of a long forgotten king. Now natural enemies must put aside their differences to save not only their world but all other realms in between.

The pacing in the first third of the book is a bit slow but it definitely picks up! I really enjoyed the morally grey cast of characters and the cliff hanger without a doubt has me hooked for the next book!

Thank you to NetGalley for this eARC in exchange for my honest thoughts!

✔️Enemies to lovers
✔️Slow burn
✔️Epic world building
✔️Forced proximity
✔️Forbidden romance
✔️Cliffhanger

Holy WOW! I I loved this book and I adore the characters so much! This book is literally everything our romantic fantasy lovers die for! This fantasy is about love, betrayal, hate, power, revenge and war.

Our main character, Dianna saved her sister by giving her soul to an evil monster. That being said, Dianna is subjected to being the monster, Kaden's creature, in powers and otherwise.

Liam, is a king and a God who is known as the World Ender, hidden away from everyone and everything until one of his subjects dies at the hands of Dianna.

Together, Dianna and Liam must work together and set aside their hate for each other to save the world.

These characters are complex, heartbreaking, and exhilarating to read about. At every turn of the page, I fell in love with Liam and Dianna and could not help myself in cheering for them! This is a must read in my eyes. Everything a Romantic Fantasy Reader would want on their shelf. Go get it now!

I loved this book so much! This was a fast-paced and brilliant fantasy about love, betrayal, hate, power, revenge and war. The characters in this book were so complex and very interesting. I fell in love with Liam, he is strong, caring, extremely handsome, and sweet. I loved Dianna, she is brave, resilient, caring, sassy, and fierce. The side characters were amazing. I especially loved Gabbie, she seems like such a strong woman and I love the unconditional love the sisters have for each other. it was an amazing read with high stakes, angst and a beautiful enemies to lovers romance. I absolutely can´t wait for the next book in the series!

Unpopular opinion here . Overall, the characters were interesting and the plot decent, but I had far too many moments when I was tempted to stop reading. The book felt like it was dragging on. It didn't had a phenomenal impact on me to make me curious and inpatient for the next book in the series.

3.5 stars, but not worth rounding up? 😂 The first 40% of this book just drags along forever, but I wanted to see if the ending justified all of the 5 star reviews.

I liked how snarky Dianna was, but I do agree she was little one dimensional. Liam was 🔥. I thought this was a stand alone, so the cliffhanger caught me by surprise. Kinda mad about that one.

As some of the other reviews say, there are a lot of typos, grammatical errors, etc but it didn’t bother me enough to stop reading. I think a heavy edit would be beneficial and I would even be interested in checking out the edit.

I did receive this as an ARC from NetGalley, all thoughts are my own.

Amazing story! A must read for fans of the enemy to lovers trope.
I struggled a bit with the beginning but I'm so glad I pushed through, because the book did deliver!
I’m usually not the biggest fan of dual POVs but this was written in a way that made it work beautifully. It was wonderful seeing both characters notice their own feelings for each other.
This book was thought through very thoroughly. The worldbuilding, the secondary characters, the way Liam’s speech gets more current as the book progresses.
And the ending? Talk about “leaving you wanting more”.
If there was a sequel, I would have started reading it the second I finished this one. I can’t wait for the next (shame there is no publication date for it).
I can’t stop thinking about this book ever since I finished it. And that, in my book, gives you a five star review.

I DNF'D this book. It wasn't the worst book I have read but it felt like it was dragging on. I put this book down to read other stuff and had to force myself to continue reading it. After trying a few more chapters decided just to dnf it

This book, THIS BOOK it quite simply just took me by storm. Genuinely, this is the blueprint for enemies to lovers, it was done so so well. I literally fell for Liam in the same way Dianna did, and I found it so beautiful to see, I loved seeing him soften not just to Dianna but other things in life like sweet treats, was actually very heartwarming. Love really does soften peoples hearts, it can warm a cold heart, and I thought this book was a beautiful depiction of this. Which for me, was enough of a reason for me to want a physical copy of this book.

I also thought it was great a story line, that ending has left me with sleepless nights and I NEED book two right now. This book was full of suspense, and lots of twists and turns, and stuff you just don't see coming. The plot was very strong too, and the forced proximity helped the enemies to lovers flow. It was all very clearly planned. The only thing I wasn't a huge fan of was how the book would transition back and forth between Liam's dreams, but I personally didn't find the transitions smooth, and I think having his dreams in separate chapters would be better to help differentiate from past and present.

Other than that, this was a 5 star for me, and I am on the edge of my bed waiting for book 2. Amber, if you want to post me a copy of book 2, you're more than welcome to.

💀BOOK REVIEW💀

The Book of Azrael - Amber Nicole
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
1.5 🌶

“World Ender meets Ender of Worlds...
A thousand years ago, Dianna gave up her life in the deserts of Erioa to save her dying sister. She called upon anyone who would listen, not expecting a monster far worse than any nightmare to answer. Now she does what Kaden asks, even if that means securing an ancient relic from the very creatures that hunt her.

A King thought long dead and long forgotten.
In the old world his name was Samkiel. In the new world it is Liam, but one title remains true throughout time. He is the World Ender, a myth to his enemies, a savior and King to those loyal to him. After the Gods War, he locked himself away, hiding from the world. He denied his crown and responsibilities, leaving the very ones who needed him most to deal with the fallout of the death of their homeworld. Now an attack on those he holds dear sends him back to the one realm he never wished to visit again and into the sights of an enemy he thought imprisoned eons ago.

Now enemies older than time must put aside their differences and work together in hopes of saving both their world and every realm in between.”

Whoa, buddy. This was a wild ride. I really did enjoy this book. It took me a little@while to get into it…there is a lot of information and you really have to be able to give this book your full attention. I’m glad I stuck with it, because it turned out really great! I had to take a few breaks though because she thicccc. She is 841 pages of a whole lot of world building.

I did enjoy Dianna and Liam’s growth together. True enemies to lovers relationship. I wish there had been a little more room for spice, but honestly there was so much content to get through, I can understand not having a ton of it.

Overall, really enjoyable read, ended on a cliffhanger so I’m excited to see where this story goes!

Thank you @netgalley @author_ambernicole and @r0seandstar for allowing me the opportunity to review this book! I can’t wait for the next one!
