Loved the poems and stories weaved into the story. Not sure on the ending but overall enjoyed the story itself.

Compulsive, twisty and moody.
I really enjoyed reading Daisy Darker. It was a really great homage to an Agatha Christie style mystery, especially And Then There Were None.
Although I predicted the twist, I still found it so unique and interesting and really enjoyed the atmosphere and mood of this book especially. I love Alice Feeney’s writing and will continue to pick up everything she writes

This was an enjoyable but ultimately, pretty forgettable story focusing on a dysfunctional family as they gather at their Grandmother's for her 80th birthday on Halloween. A homage to Agatha Christie's 'And Then There Were None', I enjoyed the various different murders and thought they were quite creative. The reveals were all a bit lackluster for me and overall, I found this to be quite generic but a fun time nonetheless.
I received a free copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney was an an absolute bombshell!
Narrated by Stephanie Racine she did an a phenomenal job creating these chargers and bringing them to such life!
I’ll read anything Feeney creates!

A great thriller which I listened to on holiday, only to stop to cool off in the sea! I challenge you to read this and not imagine yourself on an island, with no access for hours with a killer on the loose and how you'd deal with it! Would you try and swim away from harm or would you try and find the killer! An ending I didn't see coming, I loved it!

Daisy Darker Alice Feeney
3.5 rounded up for Stephanie Racine narration.
I started this book on audio travelling through the streets of Paris and was so in awe of the city that I wasn't concentrating on the book. I turned it off after an hour.
Months later, something drew me back, and I am glad I started over with this one, something I seldom do.
I enjoyed the storyline and loved the narrator. I didn't have a clue what was going on, as the body count started to rise. Overall a decent audiobook.

I loved Daisy Darker! I wasn't sure going in because I really didn't get along with "Sometimes I Lie" but I'm so glad I gave it a shot! It's definitely got me interested in looking into more of Feeney's work. Loved the narration too. 4.5 stars!

Unfortunately, not a fan. This is a retelling of sorts of Agatha Christie's bestselling novel "And Then There Were None" with a twist. But while even the original novel is not my favourite Christie, this novel misses the freshness and originality of "And Then There Were None" and substitutes it with the quite unbelievablre - and, honestly, boring - plot arc. Also, the morality of the "sinful acts" and moreso "the judge" is very, very questionable here. What is the morale of the story here one wants to ask...
As for the narrator, she alone was great, with pleasant voice and very good delivery.

An interesting and suspenseful novel that kept me engaged. This book will appeal both readers that enjoy stories about dysfunctional families and those that like murder mysteries. I found the main character Daisy likeable but the ending was too far-fetched for me. Nevertheless, good writing and good narration.

A wonderful read with an immense pressure through out driving characters in to bizarre and twisted worlds. Loved the whole thing and especially the ending - caught me off guard.

I found this to be a wild and exciting ride from start to finish. Daisy was an interesting character to follow and i thought she developed well over the course of the novel. The action was done well and looking back, a lot of set up and what happened made sense. I thought the writing was done well and it kept me hooked so i felt like i had to read this in one sitting. The reveal in this was interesting and looking back at what was said earlier in the book, it all added up. I'd read more by Alice Feeney as this was such a fun read.

I loved this audiobook! Daisy Darker by Alice Feeney Narrated by: Stephanie Racine was just brilliant. I was hooked from the beginning till the end especially as it had great twists and turns throughout that just had you sitting at the edge if your seat and the ending was Brilliant!

Big Thank you to Netgalley and Pan Macmillan for supplying a copy of this novel in exchange for an honest review.

This was definitely more of a murder mystery than a psychological thriller and it reminded me repeatedly of the Christie novel And Then There Were None. Except that was a lot better and that didn’t have the irritatingly awful plot twist. Without leaving a spoiler this is my least favourite type of twist and as soon as I got to it I barely had the interest to keep reading. Not a fan.
The narrator was, however, good and she did keep me interested despite the story.

I was so looking forward to this book, having read all of Alice Feeney’s books you kinda know what to expect - and that is to expect what you’re least expecting.
The twists come constantly as you unravel the truth or get even further away but throughout the whole books there’s that sense of fear and the not knowing what’s going to happen next, speculating what you think is going to happen or what the truth is. She just makes you question everything and everyone one
I buddy read this book which was great as we could both speculate on things - I’m chuffed that I actually called one big reveal right and we kinda hinted at part of the final reveal but not all of it. And that’s where my slight trepidation comes in as I’m not quite sure how I feel about the twist. It just didn’t quite sit right with me and whereas all her others you’ve been like woah I didn’t see that coming but it being completely plausible, this one was very questionable.
I’m going to leave it there before I give away anything but this is definitely one that I think will get people talking!

BRILLIANT!!!
Another Unforgettable story by Alice Feeney with a jaw-droppingly good twist at the end!
What a dysfunctional family but maybe not so different from many families out there today. Sisters who hate each other, mothers who have favorites and blame the children for all their missed opportunities, fathers that are missing in action, and an adorable and loving grandmother. Throw in the mix a good-looking young boy and you have a recipe for disaster. Oh and let's not forget the creepy old house on an island that you can only reach when it is low tide.
*cue the spooky music*
Who are the Darker family really and will the fortune tellers' prediction come true? Does Daisy have a darker side because we all have a little bit of evil in us don't we.....
Alice Feeney is such a clever storyteller. I discovered her when her first book came out in 2017 called "Sometimes I Lie" and I've been a fan ever since. If you haven't read her go and grab a copy of this book. You will not be disappointed!
The narrators also did a brilliant job and managed to create so much atmosphere!!

What a fantastic read. A darkly funny whodunit centred around a night on a secluded island for the head of the Darker family. It will keep you guessing right up until the conclusion.

I enjoyed Daisy Darker. I have read all of Alice Feeney's books and this one did not disappoint. People have compared it to Agatha Christie but I have not read her books. I did figure out the twist and that Daisy was actually dead. But I still enjoyed it. The audio was a bit hard to follow.

I absolutely loved this book. I obtained an advance copy of an audiobook from NetGalley having read its description and thinking it sounded much like Agatha Christie's book 'And Then There Were None'. There are definitely similarities. However, I think that actually I probably liked this more.
The Darker family assemble for a birthday party on an island and are trapped by the tide - all seemingly starts well - until midnight when 'nanna' dies, and another person dies at 1, another to die at 2, at 3 etc The counting down of the time until the tide recedes and we found out who the murder is worked well, tying in with the fact that Nanna is seemingly clock obsessed, with her 80 clocks chiming each hour.
The twist at the end of the book was not one I expected - and although I wasn't sure initially about the twist (I won't say more for fear of spoiling the book for others) I thought the explanation as to how everything tied together in the end worked well and was quite plausible. I generally prefer real books to audiobooks - but in this case I thought this book worked incredibly well as an audiobook. I found myself trying to find chores to do around the house to have an excuse to listen (ostensibly while working).

Daisy Darker' is Alice Feeney's most recent novel, and it's a fantastic mystery! I supplemented my reading with Stephanie Racine's unabridged audiobook edition.
First and foremost, this is a novel that should be read 'cold' for maximum impact.
Daisy Darker arrives at Seaglass, her grandmother's crumbling Cornish home, on Halloween. The house is surrounded by granite rocks and is only accessible from the mainland via a sand causeway. During high tide, it is effectively a private island. Nana's 80th birthday brings the Darker family together for the first time in a decade. Nana believes she will not survive the day due to a fortune teller's reading many years ago. Some of her family members have agreed.

After years of avoiding each other, Daisy Darker’s entire family assemble for Nana’s 80th birthday party in Nana’s crumbling gothic house on a tiny tidal island. Finally back together, when the tide comes in, they will be cut off from the rest of the world for eight hours. At the stroke of midnight as a storm rages, Nan is found dead. And an hour later, the next family member follows. Someone is killing them one by one. The Darkers must reveal their past secrets before the tide comes in to save themselves.
Alice Feeney is utterly brilliant - every book of hers is genius. In the style of Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None, this is a jaw droopingly dark thriller. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The suspenses makes this an utterly addictive read. I had no idea who would die next or who was behind the mystery. It kept me guessing throughout with plenty of classic Feeney clever twists.
I highly recommend this one – particularly if you enjoy a thriller!
