I really liked the concept of this book - Milly is a witch who keeps seeing a strange man called the Weaver in her dreams. She learns that he controls the dreamworld and wants her to join him as his queen in order to bring balance to his power and to the world, but of course there’s a catch.

I feel like this had potential to be a lot better if there was more world building and expanding of the magic system. Normally I love a quick read, but it seems like a lot of things were explained in a “that’s just the way it is” kind of way and conflicts were resolved too easily. Rourke is exactly the kind of character I would normally love, but it was too insta love and I would have liked to see their relationship develop more.

I did like the witchy aspects though and the parts where they traveled through the dreamworld. I also appreciated how Milly was a strong self sufficient character. I just wish it was a bit more fleshed out. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

Weaver is a mystical fantasy novel about 19 year-old Millie. Visited in her dreams by a mysterious man, Millie begins her journey to unravel the mystery about him and the dreamscape.

This novel hits the ground running and there's barely a stopping off point. As a lover of quick and fast-paced reads this book was perfect for me. Weaver gives that comfy cottagecore vibes with Millie in her little witchy home in the forest. Add in a sprinkle of mystery and intrigue and you've got this story.

Millie was an enjoyable character to read about and despite her relationship seeming a little rushed and a few questionable choices, she had a well-rounded journey from beginning to end of the novel.

The magic system was unique and the dreamscape was a wonderland of intrigue. I believe the Dream Weaver magic was explained pretty well as understanding how their magic worked was imperative to the story.

Moreover, Weaver was a refreshing, quick read about a girl chasing love. I'd recommend this novel to anyone who wants to read a story with a witchy cottagecore vibe and dreamy mysteries.

Weaver by Tish Thawer made me want to have my own cottage in the woods where I could just garden and chill with my cat. I thought that the book was good. I really liked Molly’s growth throughout the novel. I thought that Rourke’s personality felt a little flat. During the first part of the book, like Milly, I couldn’t feel like I could trust him and there really wasn’t a moment when I felt like he changed. It’s almost like Jenks had more character development.
In all, I did like the story and thought that it had great potential, but it just missed the mark for me. Thank you so much for the opportunity to read Weaver!

I saw Weaver on a few instagram book tours so I requested it. It's a YA romfantasy, which is my favorite genre. I almost feel like this book could be better if it were more focused to adults. It had more of a dark atmosphere it felt like. I didn't really feel the romance or attraction in this book, the guy came off as confusing and didn't really do much to help her, but I also love when the women saves the day. The highlight of this book for me was Milly's familiar, Jinx. I love that cat! There's also weird random time jumps in this book. I recommend if you like witches or dream walking.

I've never read anything by this author before, but I did enjoy this quick, easy read. The story line was just different enough to be interesting and I loved the dream descriptions, but I do think there could have been more world building, character development and mythos included.

The fmc, Milly, is a witch who lives a solitary life in a secluded cabin in the woods. She has begun dreaming of a man whom she feels could be her true love. As the two start interacting more and more in Milly's dreamscape, she finds out he is a Weaver and he wants her to become his Queen.

While I was interested in the story, I felt just as confused as Milly at times regarding the 'rules' and what the role of both the Weaver and the so-called Queen entailed. The story also felt somewhat rushed in places, but then I found myself skimming in others. I think the author had a great concept with tons of potential, but the story needed more plotting, development and detail.

Weaver by Tish Thawer drew me in on the very first page.

Milly, a 19 year old witch is used to spending her life in seclusion. She only has her familiar, Jinx, and her trusted librarian friend, Keelyn.
That is, until she meets a mystery man in her dreams who calls himself The Weaver.
Milly finds herself enchanted by the Weaver and his world, while at the same time doubting herself and his intentions.
By the end of the book, Milly grows into her own, and in doing so, unlocks her true destiny.

The descriptions in Weaver were magical, and beautifully written. They made it easy to picture myself in the book. I loved all of the spellwork and kitchen witchery.

At times, I found the main character, Milly to be too insecure in her decisions. Thankfully, her character developed confidence in herself and her situation during the course of the book. I do wish we would've been given more time with The Weaver, or maybe his point of view.

Some parts of this story feel rushed, but all loose ends are tied up, and there is a satisfying ending.

It was a quick read that I finished in a day. I would recommend this book for anyone who loves books about beautiful magic, dreams, and finding your destiny.

The cover of this caught my eye right away - and the summary was written so beautifully that my mind immediately conjured up images of magic and dreams and characters. I highly recommend this one.
