Fortunately, I realised that Out of Love is the second book in The Switch series before diving into it. So, I downloaded Strictly Business to get into twin brothers Jesse and Scott’s groove; however, Cardello recapping book one will help the reader who hasn’t already read it.

Although Jesse is very much in the foreground, this story focuses on Scott and Monica. I have to say that there were times I was a tad confused regarding the part played by one of the secondary characters. The storyline per se is original, but I wish it had hooked me more.

The build-up of the romantic tension felt a bit off too, but despite everything, I liked the dual perspective and enjoyed the banter. Fans of insta-love, fun farm animals, and weirdish suspense, this not such a long read could just be your cuppa.

ARC kindly received from Montlake and NetGalley for an honest review.

Out of Love🙃

Out of Love is the second book in the Switch series. This book features Scott, Jesse’s identical twin, whom he’s just discovered. Scott switches with Jesse in the first book so that Jesse can help him save his farm. In the meantime, Scott takes it upon himself to be “Jesse” and meets Monica when she takes offence to one of Jesse’s emails…and so it begins❣️Monica is the lead researcher on her fathers space station project, and is not happy with Jesse when he emails her to tell her some of her figures are wrong😢

A good story that I enjoyed…a bit slow to start but picked up the pace nicely. It appears Thane might get his book next but I’m not sure if I will read it as some parts of this book and the last were a bit unrealistic but still an enjoyable story. I received an advanced copy via Netgalley and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️

The hero found out that he had an identical twin that he didn't know about until recently. The new relationship of the siblings is not smooth sailing, yet to appease his twin brother, the hero agreed to switch places with him. The switch was not supposed to last long, but when time passed away, the hero decided to visit his brother's office and meets the heroine. It's this fateful encounter that begins the discovery of a sabotage plan against his brother's company. How will the hero save his brother's company when he has to tackle doubts about the heroine's innocence while also battling his own romantic feelings for her?

This is the second book in The Switch series. This second book is set at the same time as the first book's time period and could stand alone by itself since the book provided enough information about what's happening in the first book. But it really would be best to start reading the first book before this one because the first book introduced the whole setting of the series. I also felt that the romance wasn't as prominent or expanded enough in the book due to the sabotaging problem. It could use more details in certain areas of the book, including the main couple's romantic relationship. Other than those concerns, I did enjoy reading the book.

**Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the review copy. All opinions and thoughts in the review are my own.**

Out of Love by Ruth Cardello is the second book in the Switch series.
I really loved the first book and was so looking forward the continued story of Jesse and Scott.
I found the book one I could not put down. I loved reading how the story unfolded.
Ruth Cardello is one of my favorites author’s and as always, I love the way she tells her story. This book is five stars!

If you’re looking for a fun read, then you’ll enjoy this second book in The Switch series. Scott is impersonating Jesse, his twin brother. He instantly falls for Monica. When she learns of his deception, she’s really angry. Why? It’s not like he lead her on for months and months. Overdramatic much? Will they end up together or is his deception a deal breaker? Grab your copy of this okay read and see what happens. I wanted to love this book, but unfortunately it fell short for me and the ending cinched it. I’ll still read more books from this author though, especially the next book in this series. I can’t wait to see what happens in book three.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

I enjoyed previous books by the author and some of the previous in this series.
It was a good story overall with characters that were drawn from being selfish and egocentric to change their ways of seeing life and accepting others in it even if their main aim is to do everything they can for the family business and keep everyone happy at the farm.
It’s a very slow burn and I am really not a fan of those , plus the chemistry between them just felt more like we are told about it than felt on and off the page. There are steamy scenes that I really enjoyed but again, I just felt that the connection was really forced out. Just my opinion and it has nothing to do with the author or her ability to write great chemistry because I’ve read them before and I know she can do an amazing job at it.

Very grateful to the publisher for this Read Now copy

I went into this book really excited for the premise - it seemed like a lot of fun - but it didn’t really work for me. The writing itself was fine, but I didn’t find it very engaging and I thought there was a lot of clunky exposition to try and set up the story and the characters rather than just letting the story unfold naturally. The plot was interesting in parts but it all felt a little bit muddled.

The main focus should have been the romance, but I also wasn’t very keen on that. I never really warmed to either main character and I found their relationship both moved fast and was quite slow; it felt like they were ready to start making declarations of love very early after meeting but not much physical happened till later on. The love scenes were quite hot and well-written, but outside of those scenes I personally didn’t feel a lot of chemistry between them.

I think this book would probably work for a lot of people, I could definitely see the appeal in it, and I would recommend it if you’re looking for a hidden identity romance with a side of suspense, but it wasn’t my cup of tea. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing a free copy of this book.

Content Notes: Death of a parent (in past), cancer (in past), vomiting, violence, gun violence, blood, hospital scenes, on-page sex.

Will she accept she too needs a shoulder to rest on …

If I think I loved the previous book, I just adored this one. I was unable to read it in the best of condition as I was traveling and I hated to have to put it down because of my different stops.

Scott is a dream boyfriend made true, he might have landed in this very situation because he was holding back some important informations, but he is one of those fellow who thinks about others before himself.
He may be be a man who has secrets, he does not sit well with the switch as soon as he realizes Monica is not a passing attraction.
His secrets harm nobody, while the swap could possibly be very damaging if his relationship with Monica were to be going farther than a few interactions, thus him holding back.
I loved how he was in charge. He is not pushy like his twin can be, he is very respective, protective and lets Monica come to him, agreeing with himself to become a fixed figure in her life she must allow it, and accept him

He is a perfect match for her, and while there were at time some unresolved issues, he does not force his presence on her, giving her time and space to proceed the meaning and importance of himself in her life, to let he realize he can be part of hers only if she will grant it. He is attuned to her needs and wants, in harmony with her personality, welcoming her issues and enable her to go forward.
She has trust issues and has come to believe she can do everything herself, needing no one as people always leave. So thanks to Scott, she will see she still can be master of her future with someone walking by her side, someone who believes in her, stands by her and lets her make her choice.
Scott is all that and more, personified patience, an understated genius, the breath of fresh air she did not knew was very much lacking in her life.

After reading Jesse's book, I couldn't wait to jump into Scott's. In the first book, Scott is portrayed as a very positive guy with love for everyone. This book, you see his complexities, especially involving his brother. One thing that I would have liked to see was the interactions between Scott and Jesse's dad. In the first book, Jesse asks his dad to spend time with Scott. You can see Scott respects Mr. Rehobeth's position near the end of the book when he asks for advice with his bean project. I felt like I was missing a crucial piece of the story when it was left out. However, I did enjoy the book very much and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys hidden identity, beta heros, and a slow burn.

I was so excited for the second book in the Switched series and Ruth Cardello did not disappoint me at all! I loved it better than Strictly Business, the first book in the series. Ruth took a good ole boy farmer and made me fall in love with him. Scott switches places with Jesse, his twin that he just met. The switch was supposed to only be for a few hours. He is supposed to be in Jesse’s apartment out of sight. When the switch goes on more than a few hours Scott goes to Jesse’s work where he meets Monica. Monica’s dad’s company is Jesse’s biggest client. So if Scott isn’t careful he could cost Jesse a lot. This book is funny, the characters are great and it is classic Ruth Cardello!

Two brothers separated at birth couldn’t be any different, one is a high powered executive the other a ranch owner.

Now they’ve swapped lives and the cowboy is running the company, and getting the girl it seems.
Excellent storyline and writing from Ruth.
Such a brilliant and addictive read.
I loved it!

One of the best opposites attract romances I’ve read!! I absolutely fell in love with both Scott and Monica!! The relationship they form is based on a partnership and is so real it grabs your heart. I also got a kick out of the animals on Scotts farm. Monica and Bella’s first meeting had me cracking up. And the ENDING, WOW what an awesome twist. Can’t wait to read what comes next!!

I was really excited for Scott’s side of the switch story. I loved that everyone thought he was a dumb farmer, but he had amazing intelligence. His ideas could change the world. I felt really bad for Monica’a situation with her father. There was no warmth nor a nurturing relationship between them. It was all work. I really enjoyed how things evolved between these two. There was a lot of chemistry there from the start, but they each had their own issues to overcome. This is a wonderful story of finding your true self and not being afraid to let yourself shine. I am loving all of the unknowns that keep popping up, and I can’t wait for the Thane’s story next.

Scott has just out that he has an identical twice, Jessie, and whilst he finds him a touch arrogant and overconfident, he overlooks things as he did help save his farm for him. What was meant to be a few hours where Scott pretends to be Jessie at work, soon turns into something far more complicated. Scott comes face to face with Monica, the daughter of his brother’s largest clients. His discovery of her plan to sabotage Jessie’s company has him involved in more ways than was possible.

This is the second book in the series, which can be read as a stand-alone book, but it does help to read the first to get a sense of his relationship with Jessie. The instant attraction was definitely possible, but I am not too sure about the ‘love’ aspect as the dialogue didn’t have me quite believing this. However, if you can overlook some of these aspects, the book is easy to read with an alternating POV
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is the second book from The Switch Series by Ruth Cardello. I read the first book in the series and wanted to see how the author was going to build on the twin life swap and dirty business dealings.

This story was about Scott who was living his twin brother, Jesse’s life. Scott falls in love with Monica but doesn’t come clean soon enough, about who he really is, to keep from breaking her heart.

The end of the book was rather rushed and I feel like it was lacking more information about who was behind the chemical calculations sabotage and shooting Scott. The author also hinted at another possible twin situation- can’t wait for book 3!

I enjoyed the break from reality but missed the details to help wrap up the story.

This is book two in The Switch Series and it is Scott and Monica's story and omg it is definitely a must read. When Scott realised that he had a twin brother because they had been separated at birth they decided to do a switch so that Jesse could help Scott with his farm as he was being harassed to sell it by a company and they wouldn't take no for a answer but there was no way that he would ever well the place where he grew up and loved so Jesse went to the farm and Scott went to stay at Jesse place and was told not to go out but Scott got bored and went to see what Jesse company was like and that was when he met Monica who thought that he was Jesse causing huge complications for them all. Monica worked hard for her father and helped him with his projects but when she got a e-mail that she didn't like the tone for she decided to take the bull by the horns to confront who she thought was Jesse but what she didn't like or expect was her reaction to him and how he made her feel because this type of thing didn't happen to her so she left as quick as she could so that she could get back to normal. Scott and Monica's attraction and chemistry between them was instant and strong but with all the secret's surroundings them they couldn't do anything about it but what will happen when the truth comes out. There are twists and turns along with danger, betrayal, secret's, trust issue's, family, hope, forgiveness and love . I absolutely loved this book and it had you on the edge of your seat while turning the pages wondering what would happen next and I couldn't put it down as the characters and storyline pulled you in right from the start and it kept my attention throughout as I wanted to see what the outcome would be for them all and I can't wait to read Thane's story next.

I Voluntarily Reviewed a Copy of This Book.

Out of Love is the second in a companion book romance series that follows a set of place switching twins trying to help each others' businesses and ending up falling in love.

Unfortunately, I did not realize this was a second in a series book until I accidentally stumbled on that fact once I had completed about 60% of the book. While I guess technically this could be read as a stand alone I really did not care for it as a stand alone. For the first 60% of the book I had a very strong feeling that I was missing half of the story. Turns out, I kind of was. This book follows Scott and the first book follows his twin brother Jesse. The timeline of Scott's book is the same as the timeline for Jesse's book. So when you were reading Scott's story you kept getting hints of things happening in Jesse's story but it was very much just a mention in passing. But because they're twins who switched places the stories are very interconnected so you got A LOT of mentions of Jesse. I hated that. I wanted the full picture of what was happening with Jesse. Personally I would have preferred if the book contained both brothers' perspectives or if the first book was about Jesse falling in love then make Scott's story of falling in love at a completely different point in time so that I don't feel like I'm missing something.

Aside from that I also found myself getting really bored. I did not feel any chemistry between Scott and Monica. I found a lot of the lines cheesy, cliche and redundant. It was very much love at first sight and a lot of telling not showing. Sadly this one was just not for me; but thank you to NetGalley for the ARC.

🚜Farmer & out-of-this-world smart city gal🌇

It's easy to read, has some great animal sidekicks, and centers on a savvy farmer and self-taught biochemist who switches places with his biz exec twin brother. Turns out, the switch is life-changing for them both as Cupid gets to work. This is romance with some strategically placed steamy sessions and I love that the women in the story are smart and sassy.

The two main characters, Scott and Monica, interact with some animosity (from Monica) that morphs as Scott just never seems to show a bad side, all while he's hiding the switcheroo. Monica is a work in progress who really needs to lighten up and get a life apart from her high-powered tech career in her dad's aerospace company. The question is, will she do it without Scott's support and how would it affect the relationship with her demanding father?

This story occurs simultaneously with Jesse's romance in Strictly Business, Cardello's previous book in the series. I read and enjoyed both but this could be read as a standalone. However, if you like the farm setting and the quirky rescue animals that only surface late in this story, I recommend reading both Scott and his brother Jesse's stories.

Thanks to Montlake and NetGalley for sharing a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

It was great to be back with Jesse and Scott again and I was really looking forward to seeing more of the farm. The heart of this book was so beautiful. Scott is such a fantastic character, I really wish he was in my life, we all need someone to champion us and the be positive. The way he helped Monica break out of her destructive pattern of behaviour and see things about herself that she’s buried deep was simply beautiful; even how he managed to reach her dad and open his heart was moving.
I’m really fascinated how his research and desire to solve world hunger pans out and I really can’t wait to see Thane meet his twin in the next book.
