This book is full of twists and turns. It is slow paced to begin with. It is full of suspense. This is a very well written family drama

An unyielding narrative of twists and revelations, this thriller pulls you into a maze of danger and intrigue that's impossible to escape. A fantastic book right here!

I like my thrillers twisty turny, and this one was definitely that - unfortunately, it was sometimes too much and caused an issue with following the plot. This is possibly one of those novels that would have been done better written more simply, as the premise is good and the writing is gripping - it just lost a little something along the way.

When Ruth takes her son Billy to his first day of school it’s the last place she thinks that her world will flip. But when Eve turns up and says in fact Billy is her son it sets a chain of events into effect.

I read The Secret Keepers Daughter by this author last year and really enjoyed it and I was hoping this one would be as good. I did enjoy this book - not quite as much as the former but this book was still very good. The whole plot of a mothers life being turned upside down when she least expected it was so good and it was hard to know who to believe. The ending was also very good and it was a very twisty thriller. I’ll definitely read more books by this author.

I was so surprised at how tense this book got in places, with so many twists and turns, and some sadness too. It’s a well written book, with some great characters. I’d highly recommend this book! Thank you, Netgalley, I’ll be looking out for more books by Samantha King.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
This book takes a simple premise (were babies swapped in hospital?) adds a predictable twist (did a drunken night cause pregnancy) and swaps the timeline across each chapter creating a confusion that fails to build suspense. The behaviour of the characters is not credible - why would an adult expect a child to tell his mother he was going out? Why would Ruth go out to see Eve alone during the night?- and the story progressed so slowly. I couldn't maintain my interest beyond 25%, I did not finish the book.

The suspense! The confusion! I truly DID NOT KNOW who to believe. I flew through this book and couldn't get to the ending fast enough. A fast, suspenseful, unputdownable novel by Samantha King!

Pace starts off slow, but this book is filled with twists and turns to keep you occupied. Loved the suspense factor and full of secrets.

I wasn't a fan of this book. There were too many characters and subplots to try to follow and it got confusing.

This one was a bit hard for me. Lots of twists and turns which makes for a good thriller, but this might have been too much. Either way it was compelling enough to keep me reading to the end!

What a muddled book to wade through. The premise is sound, but the characters (too many) and plot twists (way too many) distract you in a bad way.

I wanted to get in to it, but was actually quite relieved when i finished what was a slog of a read. Disappointed.

An enjoyable read, found it a bit slow at the start but once i got into it, i just had to keep reading to find out what had happened between Eve, Bea and Daniel.

Thank you to author and the publisher for the advanced copy of this book. I was looking forward to reading this one having read the blurb but unfortunately I found it difficult to follow with a lot of sub plots and characters. I simply couldn't keep up was unable to finish and provide a better review.

An amazing thriller with lots of twists and turns, that kept me guessing and engaged from start to finish .
I flew through the pages of this as i was so intrigued and unable to guess what would happen next. The characters are well developed and I loved everything about this book. I added this author to my favorites list. Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Really enjoyed this book. I did'nt want to put it down. Well written kept you guessing, what could possibly happen next. Where would the story end.

Ruth has a son Billy. Throughout this story, you don’t whether Daniel is really his father or if Finlay is; we question whether Daniel has had an affair with Ruth’s best friend Bea, and at one point with the arrival of Eve at the school gates. we even question whether Ruth is actually Billy’s mother. There is a lot of confusion within this book; it all comes together but is quite difficult to follow at times.

This one hooked me right away and had suspense, twists and turns all throughout. The characters were engaging and beautifully complicated, the writing well done. The plot moved at a good pace. A great read!
