I was thrilled to be approved for an ARC of My Other Husband as I am a big fan of Dorothy Koomson.

This book is all about Cleo. Told in a dual timeline, we have present Cleo who is trying to divorce the husband she clearly still loves, and Cleo from 1996 onwards when she first meets Heath at University. It would be hard to go into depth about the plot without risking giving something away, so I shan't try! I will say that there is a vast and impressive cast of characters all of whom are carefully written and presented.

This book took me a little while to get into and it's a bit of a slow burn but it picks up pace as pieces of the puzzle slot into place. I did guess one of the big reveals, but I was keen to read on anyway to see if I was right and how it would be realised! Dorothy Koomson is a master at this genre and as a general rule, you don't find something out until she's ready to share it with you.

I would definitely recommend this book and look forward to reading more work by this author! Thank you to Netgalley and the Publishers for my copy of this book.

I have to admit it took me longer to get into this than I expected but once I did I was totally gripped. Told in a dual timeline of now when Cleo is wanting to divorce the husband she clearly loves but it’s not clear why and onwards from 1996 when Cleo is at university and meets Heath. This is a powerful story of love, obsession and revenge with some incredibly strong characters and a very complex well planned plot. It’s easy to understand the relationship between Cleo and Heath even though it’s so wrong and I think that why this book is so chilling. This is definitely one of Dorothy Koomson’s best, 9/10

This is quite a common concept for domestic noir and whilst I'd heard of the author, I'd never actually read any of her works to date...... boy have I been missing out. Now I see why she is so highly reviewed and so well known. This was a complete roller coaster. It's so much more than just a domestic noir or a thriller, it's the kind of multilayered story that you'd sit and watch a netfilx series about. And always be dying for the next episode!!! It is so complex and well written with these little reveals sloooowly being dripped in until it finally gets to that big reveal which you absolutely do not see coming!! This is the perfect, shut the world out, grab a blanket, get a coffee poured and just snuggle down to get completely lost in this book

So this is first for my with this author but I've heard lots of great things about her so when I got the offer of an early read I thought I'd take the opportunity to see what all the fuss is about and I can now completely understand why she is so highly rated.

This domestic drama takes obsession to a whole new level it sucked me, spun me found and spat me out, I was engaged from start to finish, it was cleverly executed with some shocking revelations along the way, well researched, thought out and superbly written.

I love love love Dorothy Koomson’s books and did a happy dance when I was approved to read this one!!! As with all of her books, Brighton is the setting where the main character, Cleo, an author and screenwriter lives with her husband Wallace. She however, has another husband who she is also married too and when people in Cleo’s life are attacked and left for dead, she believes that he is to blame and that he is ensuring that the blame falls on her.
This was a truly brilliant read with jaw dropping revelations
Thanks to NetGalley, Headline and the author for this advance copy.

Awesome 5 🌟
What if your murderous fantasies start to come true? Someone is trying to frame me for murder. They're hurting people in the ways I write about - and making sure I'm the prime suspect. I think I know why. But I can't tell the police or even use my rock-solid alibi Because then I'd have to confess about my other husband. A series of terrifying murders. A set of complex lies. And a woman with no way to clear her name.
The queen of the Big Reveal has done it again. She's written an astounding psychological thriller.
Thanks to NetGalley and Headline for giving me an advance copy.

I absolutely love Dorothy Koomson and was thrilled to get this. It's one of her best, I think. The plot is so well done that it sucks you in and keeps you reading. The main character, Cleo, is real and likeable and flawed and understandable and all the things that keep you invested. I particularly loved Trina and Lola but all the characters had a role to play and were all distinct and believable. Heath in particular was fascinating. Sidney, Wallace... they all felt like people I knew by the end. It was a brilliant read and one I'm sorry to be finished because now I have to wait for the next one! Loved it.

As a massive fan of Dorothy Koomson, I was so excited to be approved to read and review The Other Husband.

Cleo is an author and screenwriter living in Brighton with Wallace, her husband. Even though Cleo seems to have an ideal life, she has a secret. And it’s a big one. It’s about her other husband….

Told in dual timelines by Cleo, the story follows Cleo in the present day, including starting divorce proceedings to the bewilderment of Wallace, as well as her time at university in Leeds with her best friend Trina. And Heath. Heath who is in love with Cleo and doesn’t care who knows it. He also doesn’t care who gets in the way of him being with Cleo….so when a number of people in and around Cleo’s Brighton life are attached and left for dead, suspicion falls on Cleo. But Cleo suspects she knows who is truly responsible….although she can’t tell anyone, as big Amy is against the law.

This story is more of a slow burner than Dorothy’s previous ones but it’s absolutely no less satisfying. I loved the multi-layered approach to the story of Cleo and how the plots were carefully uncovered. I audibly gasped several times towards the end of the book as some of the revelations.

A fantastic read, kept me hooked and already looking forward to the next one!
