I absolutely adored the island of Capri when I visited on a cruise ship excursion, so I truly felt transported back there with this wonderful story.

Fern and Stella have been best friends forever and when Stella wins some money on the lottery she decides to treat them to a holiday of a lifetime to celebrate their 40th Birthdays.

What soon becomes apparent is that Stella is hiding things, that Amber, Ferns daughter may know something about that Fern is oblivious. Even as a reader I had pieced some of the truth together before Fern.

I was made to feel rather hungry by the tantalising descriptions of Italian food. And I could really picture Capri as we are taken on day trips. Not to mention a split for a few days of differing holiday plans.

I suspect I would have gone with Stella on that one!

It's a story of two women making changes in their lives for the better and I devoured it over the course of an afternoon in the garden that was so hot that I could have been in Italy myself.

Left me with a smile and great desire to discover what stunning location Kate Frost will write about next.

Thank you to Boldwood Books and Netgalley for this copy which I have read honestly and voluntarily.

This was indeed an Italian Dream with plenty of twists and turns to keep me reading, I think I'll have to book some time away in an Italian retreat, this was a gorgeous read

Thank you to NetGalley, Kate Frost, and Boldwood Books for providing this e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I felt like I was on vacation without even leaving my house. Kate Frost gives such vivid descriptions of Capri that I felt I was there too. Any time I need a vacation without leaving home, I will be turning to Kate Frost to transport me there.

This book was a little confusing and hard to follow at times, but I could not put it down. The story was great and I felt as though the characters were relatable.

I would 10/10 recommend this book. Can’t wait to read it again!

This review will be posted to my Goodreads and Amazon accounts immediately and to my instagram account @ginganinja333 upon publication on 7/7/2022.

I really enjoyed the descriptions of Capri which made me feel as though I was there.
Fern is a great character and her story was very relatable, but sadly Stella was unlikeable in my opinion. She did what no best friend should do, no matter what.

Money doesn’t solve everything! It can’t buy everything, either. Even redemption.

Having read One Greek Summer and absolutely loving it, I was excited to read another book by Kate Frost.

While I was magically transported to Capri and all this wonderful island has to offer, I struggled with the play-by-play narration, the behaviour of grown women who were supposedly best friends, and the lack of respect the children had for their parents. I really wanted to like this book, but it is in a different league than One Greek Summer.

I struggled to connect with the characters and was disappointed in their choices. What should have been a fantastic holiday full of bonding time and an appreciation of Stella’s gift…..wasn’t.

Please understand that my review is heavily influenced by my moral compass, not the author’s ability to write a good book.

I was gifted this book by Kate Frost, Boldwood Books and NetGalley and was under no obligation to provide a review.
