This was one of the most charming, romantic and whimsical books I have had the please of reading. I adored the story and enjoyed all the small mysteries thrown in. Will definitely be reading more of Jaimie Admans in the future .

This is the first book I've read by Jaimie Admans and I found it to be a charming story that made me smile throughout with its likeable characters, somewhat quirky plot and of course, plenty of bees.

I will definitely read more by the author with the hope that they are as equally entertaining.

I have read and reviewed two other works by the author, and this review is significantly influenced by my earlier experience because it set up an expectation level. There are parts of this book that worked very well. Unfortunately, the other half was not at the same level, averaging out my feelings for the book.
The author's writing is consistently vivid, and her characters engaging and, for the most part, lovable. In this book, our leading lady, Kayleigh, hides in her mother's house. She has lost a lot of her previous life, including her drive to work on her candles. It is then that she stumbles on a beekeeper-wanted ad and decides to lie her way into getting the job.
Once she gets the job, she struggles her way into doing a good job thanks to an unlikely source of help. The rest of the story is about her newfound relationship and her own growth.
I liked the latter part. It was believable and entertaining. Kayleigh and her relationship with the people in the town and her coming to terms with it all is the main focus of the story, and that is done well. Her love story and the backstory of the same seemed a little forced. I might actually have liked it without her happily ever after! This last bit is something I usually want in every kind of story, so it is rare for me to want the opposite for once.
The author is definitely one I would recommend to others. The other two books had a higher dose of magical realism than this one did, even if it might seem otherwise in the beginning.
I read this as an ARC, thanks to NetGalley and the publishers, but the review is entirely based on my own reading experience of this and her previous works.

Just two questions: can Elderflower Grove please be real and can I move in?

Kayleigh knows nothing about bees but takes a job as a beekeeper at an abandoned manor home. To her surprise, someone is living there, and together they unravel the mystery of the place.

Kayleigh says (often) how like a Disney film the house and grounds are (complete with ballroom and multi-storey library with a secret room!), and it almost seems sentient. Like it wants her to discover its secrets.

There is definitely some kind of magic happening there!

I’m VERY into bees so I loved that aspect of this story. Although I’m not a fan of bee puns, I give credit for the inventive ones in here. I really loved the bee facts that opened each chapter.

I loved this more than I expected to, and it’s on my re-read list for sure.

This was a charming, easy to read book; a palate cleanser. As a light hearted romance, it is completely unbelievable, but that is what I enjoyed.

If you like a light hearted romance, this is worth a read.

This was my fourth novel by Jaimie Admans; I read The Post Box at the North Pole from this author last year. In The Beekeeper at Elderflower Grove, I got to meet protagonist Kayleigh Harwood who is desperate for a fresh start and is living with her mum at the start of the tale. Out of work, she lands herself a job interview as a beekeeper. The job is for an employee based at Elderflower Grove, an old, rumoured to be haunted, manor house in the village of Little Kettling, Hampshire where Kayleigh used to live.

A feel-good, funny story of romance and adventure, I was reading this late into the night. It also contains a lot of information about bees, their keeping process and their ways. Carey was an absolute delight too. There's a hint of mystery added to the mix, all creating an intriguing, bright read that will appeal to many.

The most heartwarming, feel good book I have read in a very long time. Beautifully written , I didn't want to finish it.

I really adored this wonderful book, which is set at Elderflower Grove. Kayleigh gets a new job as a beekeeper there, although she is not actually a beekeeper, and she has to learn how to be one. She meets a lovely man called Carey, who is living in the manor. Together they look after the manor and all the bees who are living in the Grove.

The book is full of mystery, romance, adventure, magic, and feel good qualities. It also has a lot of knowledge and information about bees, which was a lovely surprise that I enjoyed.

I loved the story, the setting and the characters. The ending was surprising, but very good. This is one of my favourite books of 2022 and I highly recommend it!

Admans is a known author to me and I have enjoyed her Christmas stories, this was a refreshing change for me as it was set over the summer months, but did not fail to deliver the escapism I have begun to expect from the author.

Those who are already familiar with Admans will be pleased to hear that this book still ticks all of the boxes when it comes to giving us a fairytale style romance based in modern day. What was an addition to this one were the interesting facts around bees that were given to us at the start of every chapter - this helped the reader to feel that they were on the same learning journey as our leading lady.

I think I enoyed this story even more because of the reference to the late 80s/early 90s TV shows. Although initially seemingly irrellevant, they became a central point to the budding romance.

Overall, a lovely story that is slightly far fetched but a good way to escape.

The Beekeeper at Elderflower Grove was another fantastic read by Jaimie Admans. I have yet to read one of Jaimie’s books that I have not loved or that has lasted me more than one sitting. I devoured this in a few hours. Looking forward to her next book.

A sweet, if somewhat unbelievable, story. Knowing a few beekeepers I’m not sure beekeeping is something you can do after quickly reading a couple of chapters in a book, but once I decided to ignore that I enjoyed the book. Pleasant characters & a storyline that held my interest throughout, despite a few moments I don’t think could ever happen in real life. But this is fiction after all, so some level of artistic licence is fine with me as long as the characters get their happily ever after in the end.

This was a lovely, sweet story, with a fairly predictable ending - but all the better for it! The only complaint was the villain of the story was a little 2 dimensional with no real reason for being such a pantomime character.

Heartwarming, sweet, and entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed it, it kept me smiling and rooting for the characters.

I loved everything about this book, even the slightly little bit of more spice to the romance side.

The storyline was amazing, the thrill of thinking the house was haunted just made me devour this book quickly.

Absolutely loved it.

I've read a few of this author's books and they are always a good read. This one is no exception. Her books always out a smile on my face and transport me to the location
The cover is lovely, the two main characters are interesting and endearing and there are lots and lots if bees. The story is beautifully told and I feel I have gained a small understanding of beekeeping.
This is a must read for this summer.

There are times when you need a light, fun and somewhat cheesy book to escape reality and disappear for a while. The Beekeeper at Elderflower Grove is exactly this. Despite not being my usual, I liked it.

It’s not a book to take seriously. Not one that will leave you stunned with jaw-dropping twists – although I admit to being caught out at the major ‘twist’. It is, however, a book that will leave you smiling.

It’s got heart-warming characters and a romance you root for. A nosy-but-heart-of-gold village community, complete with their eccentric leader who’s happy to whack politicians with an umbrella. It’s full of warmth and feeling, and makes you believe in happy endings.

If you’re after a little more depth, it’s got a thoroughly researched topic on beekeeping woven subtly into the story without beating you over the head with details. It also left me staring at my somewhat sorry looking garden and researching plants that are bee-friendly. It gave me a connection I didn’t know I was either missing or looking for. But it only managed to do that because I was swept up in the story.

The Beekeeper of Elderflower Grove is the type of book we all need on a summer afternoon where you want to feel good about the world. Don’t take it seriously, don’t expect something unique, and you’ll find yourself thoroughly enjoying this charming tale of bumbling your way through a fresh start, even if you’re making it up as you go.

Beautiful story with lovely characters and story line. For me, this could have gone on forever. From the very first page I was gripped. Worth more than 5 stars.
