Kayleigh, 36, finds herself living at her mum's house after breaking up with her boyfriend of 8 years. She is in need of a job and a fresh start. She is hired for the job of beekeeper of Elderflower Grove, the once beloved now rumored haunted mansion in her small town., even though she has never kept bees in her life.
On her first day she stumbles upon Carey while she is snooping through the abandoned home. He is not supposed to be there but he is looking for proof that he is the grandson of the previous owner, She is not supposed to be inside the house snooping. They quickly become friends, and maybe more, as they embark a magical summer exploring the estate.

But all is not as it seems. Although Kayleigh thinks that Carey may have feelings for her like she has for him but she can sense that he is keeping secrets. When those secrets are revealed during a life or death situation, they might not make it back to the relationship the had before.

This book was an absolute delight. Funny, sweet, absurd, romantic and charming, it made me laugh out loud multiple times but I also fell deeply for the characters and their cause. A perfect read.

Oh my goodness I loved this book, it was so different and delightful. I got myself lost living inside the house .

The summer setting at the house is beautiful and I learnt so much about bees from this book. Carey and Kayleigh's love story was beautiful and apart from the blip they go through I loved their story and watching them uncover the story of Elderflower Grove. I was really excited and drawn in from the get go.

I loved all of the facts about bees! When talking about this book, that was the part I tended to talk about the most. The story was pleasant enough. There was enough talk about ghosts and the magical house that it gave the story a slightly fantasty feel. The romance was clean, which I appreciated.

I really, really loved this book. So much so that I stopped reading it for a day because I didn’t want it to finish!!!
I loved both MC- Kayleigh was hilarious and I could totally see myself taking on a job like this with no experience! I loved the little things- like reading Beekeeping for Dummies all the time to Know what she has to do, and really enjoyed the blossoming relationship between her and Carey. Alongside that was the thrill of discovering the house itself- uncovering the secret passage, the library, the ball room. And my heart broke for Josie to have loved and lost so much.

A simply perfect book

This is a great read with a unique sense of place, likeable characters and a whole heap of mystery sprinkled in! Elderflower Grove is dilapidated yet endearing and intriguing. Despite the obvious work that needs doing to the place, I definitely felt a connection with the place early on and I was hoping that there would be a positive outcome in terms of the house being taken over, renovated etc.

Jaimie is absolutely brilliant at creating a crystal clear picture of a unique and unfamiliar setting. I don’t expect many of us have been up close to , and especially not inside, an abandoned mansion or a fully functioning set of honeybee hives, yet throughout the book Jaimie’s descriptions make this setting easy to visualise and immerse yourself in.

Kayleigh is a likeable and empathetic character. What she does in terms of taking on the role seems a little bit insane to be fair, but something about her just made me want her to succeed at it. I really felt like she needed this chance to explore her identity and rediscover her self worth. I found myself slowly warming to Carey, despite despite him at first seeming a little closed off and quite mysterious.

I was totally drawn into the story of three levels: firstly the blossoming relationship between Carey and Kayleigh and whether it would any further than ‘flirty banter’, secondly the history of Elderflower Grove and the mysteries surrounding Josie’s disappearance, and Carey’s family. Finally I was surprised to find myself fascinated with the bees and their importance and worth. This was helped by Jaimie providing key facts and information at the beginning of the chapters.

I was completely engrossed and captivated by this book and did not want it to end. I think this may be a new non-Christmas favourite for me by Jaimie!

Another heart warming book by Jaimie Admans. There is a huge reference to bees and handling of them, however this is mixed with a story of investigations about what happened to the predecessor who owned Elderflower Grove. Followed by a relationship blossoming.

Kept my interest throughout as couldn't determine the history of the Grove and would say this was the main reason for wanting to continue to read.

Ah this book was so good!!! Jaimie had you laughing from the very start of the book, I mean just imagine sitting in a zoom video with a computerised bee interviewing you... it makes me think of that video that went viral during lockdown with the council member being a cat but this was intentional! The idea of being a beekeeper with no training or experience is pretty scary, I am not a bee fan normally and will waft them away from me but this book has made them seem a lot less scary!

There were a few moments in this book that got my heart racing and I couldn’t predict what was going to happen next but this just meant that I needed to keep reading. I found myself struggling to put the book down and ended up finishing this in a few hours, it’s well worth clearing a chunk of your diary and getting comfy with this and a cuppa!

I loved watching the friendship blossom between Kayleigh and Corey as they explored and discovered more of Elderflower Grove, the items they kept finding where so magical and you got lost in this little world of pure heaven. Every day was spent uncovering more of the hidden treasures tucked away at the house, as well as Kayleigh attending to the bees on the roof. Elderflower Grove itself is just pure magic as well, don’t even get me started on the library and reading room! Even the idea of them sounds amazing, let alone when you take in the whole of the surroundings.

Not only was the book an amazing story but it also contained loads of interesting bee facts and really helped to reduce the fear of bees for me – I mean I don’t think I’ll be donning a suit anytime soon but I wouldn’t say never! There was so much I enjoyed about this book and I really can’t wait to read more by Jaimie, I’m hoping there’s going to be another Christmas instalment this year or I’ll have to get started on her backlog!

5 Word Review: Bees, community, family, love, nature.

I haven't laughed so much reading a book for a long time, and I snorted tea out my nose in the first chapter. This book is a ray of freaking sunshine and Kayleigh is right at the centre of it.

Kayleigh has had a crap time of it when we meet her, but she's in a bizarre interview with a bee on Zoom (no, really). She's so passionate though, and the kind of person who can throw herself into any challenge. Seeing her take on the bees was amazing, I was impressed by her bravery and tenacity.

I was wary of Carey when we first met him, but as we got to know him we discovered that he has a heart of absolute pure gold. He's a kind soul, and generous, and so freaking lovely. I loved his drive.

Carey and Kayleigh do not have it easy, but boy is their relationship worth reading.

I loved the slight threads of mystery to the story, how it kept me questioning and kept me reading,

This book as a lot of romance as a theme in general. I loved how Kayleigh compared the estate to Beauty and the Beast and Pride and Prejudice, and it made it so easy to picture. The hall felt almost like a character in itself, with the tiniest touch of the supernatural. I loved the lore that had built up around Elderflower Grove, it really helped cement the village setting where everyone know everyone and rumours abound.

I loved the descriptions, how nature was so present in the story. When Kayleigh first steps on to the roof and hears the hum of bees, I heard it too. I saw the frothy elderflower blossom, smelt the musty dust, felt the grime crunch underfoot. Truly marvellous writing.

This is feel-good and funny at its summery best. I would absolutely read this book again, it just made me so happy and made me laugh so much. 10/10 recommend.

Definitely my favourite of Adman's books and I absolutely adored everything about it, from the buzzy little blighters in their stripey sweaters to the gorgeous settings of Elderflower Grove.

Each chapter started with a bee fact, which was also a learning curve for me, clever little buggers bee's aren't they?

From a cover that screams everything summer, to the gorgeous story nestled between its covers The Beekeeper of Elderflower Grove is a heartwarming story of finding love, with a little sabotage and honey, pots of honey!

I equally loved both Kayleigh and Carey, both relatable, realistic and the chemistry between them was buzzing (see what I did there?).

The Beekeeper at Elderflower Grove was such an enjoyable book and one I really couldn't put down.

I absolutely loved the small village setting as well as Elderflower Grove of course. The house, and the gardens, were absolutely magical and the mystery surrounding it all really helped to draw me in. I wanted to know the history and to know how the mystery was going to play out.

Kayleigh and Carey were wonderful main characters, although neither was perfect and that's probably why I liked them so much. I really loved that Kayleigh managed to take a job as a bee keeper without knowing anything about them and also the bigger part the bees had to play in the story. Carey on the other hand had secrets and I like how the story unfolded to reveal the truth.

Overall a really enjoyable read.

Providing you're willing to completely suspend your disbelief, The Beekeeper at Elderflower Grove by Jaimie Admans is an enjoyable easy read. Kayleigh and Carey (I can't help wondering why the author chose such similar names) meet in an unlikely way with neither of them being what they seem, get to know each other, or so they think, have a major fall-out, solve a decades old mystery and then live happily ever after. It's a tried and tested formula but written with some skill and a fairly strong puzzle at its centre.

Jaimie Admans is the queen of Disney meets Hallmark! Her books have just the right amount of magic, wonderful characters to make you smile and a story that will give you that warm fuzzy feeling.

Nearly the whole story takes place at a place that seems just magical, Elderflower Grove. I have a clear picture in my head of how it was, both at the start and the end of the story and would love to visit it.

I loved how this story focused on mainly just Kayleigh and Carey. With just two main characters I felt I knew them inside out. Both have been through a rough time and have no faith in relationships or other people for that matter when they meet, but instantly it is clear that sparks are flying between them and they have this great chemistry, and the move from enemies to friends is instant. Kayleigh is just a ray of sunshine, such a good heart and so optimistic, except when her imagination runs away with her. Carey is eternally good-natured and so easy to love. The added mystery of what happened to the old beekeeper was the cherry on top!

Kayleigh has moved back into her Mum’s after a bad break up and, desperate for a job, she takes the first job she can. Despite knowing nothing about beekeeping she buys an idiots guide and gets stuck in at her beloved Elderflower Grove.

The building is very run down, but with the help of the live-in gardener and the army of bees providing their famous honey, the go about restoring the house and uncovering the mystery of the previous inhabitants.

This was a light-hearted, feel-good story that will make a great summer read.

Wonderful summer read, instant sunshine and happiness in a book. This is down to Jaimie’s unique style and interesting storylines. As a fully fledged fan of all Jaimie’s books, I knew to expect some crazy antics, mysterious shenanigans and things that just can’t be explained.

Great characters, a setting that is so descriptive you feel you are right there, and a lot of information about bees and beekeeping I never knew before. I loved Kayleigh, she has a great attitude and a character I wanted to see do well. Carey grew on me, I had doubts and couldn’t believe he was for real. Elderflower Grove just sounds magnificent, also a little mysterious as Kayleigh and Carey discover.

If you suspend your sensible head and go with your imagination, this book will leave you make you smile from start to finish.

As always, great writing, interesting themes and a smashing summer read.

At risk of repeating myself I’m going to say it anyway – Jaimie Admans takes the most everyday objects and places and turns them into something completely magic every…single….time! This time it’s bees.
The Beekeeper of Elderflower Grove is charming and magical and such a wonderful read to raise the spirits. And, I loved the added bonus of learning about bees and how to care for them/collect honey in the process.
Kayleigh is such a fabulous character and it only took a few pages to fall in love with her. She’s sweet and funny but gets herself into some situations. I’m not convinced I would trust any job where the interviewer is dressed as a bee and talking about ghost stories. When she meets Carey, the chemistry is strong from the beginning, and I loved the development of their relationship.
The whole plot has an air of local legend mystery about it which adds an extra layer to the story. The vibe is definitely on par with some classic love stories and there’s just such cosy feel to this book – like a hug from a best friend.
As always with a Jaimie novel, I adored Kayleigh’s story and the whole setting just sucked me into life there. I cannot recommend this book enough but be warned – you won’t want to leave Elderflower Grove once you visit.

Elderflower Grove is a local grand house with a ghostly and mysterious past, which was damaged by fire several years ago. A charity was set up to look after the bees and they need a new beekeeper.

Despite having no experience and not being quite truthful in her interview, Kayleigh secured the job and pinned her hopes on the extensive idiot’s guide to beekeeping she managed to buy online. The only rule is not to enter the mansion itself. But Kayleigh has always loved Elderflower Grove and woven fantasies around it, so to resist a look around was impossible. She found more than she bargained for.

So Kayleigh, with help from an unexpected source, looks after numerous beehives and fulfils her obligation to the bees and villagers while unraveling the mystery of Elderflower Grove, and finding romance along the way in spite of the twists and unexpected revelations.

I love how each chapter begins with a bee fact such as ‘The buzz of a bee is caused by their wings beating 200 times per second – 12,000 times per minute’ and ‘If a hive needs a new queen bee, the workers can create one. They select a young larva and feed it royal jelly, and the larva will develop into a fertile queen.’ I learned quite a lot about bees and honey making during the course of this story.

The Beekeeper at Elderflower Grove is a fun, feel good, light hearted read.

I have only actually read one book by Jaimie Admans (The Christmas Tree Farm - I loved it!) so I jumped at the chance to read her latest, set in the world of bee-keeping. I don't really know too much about bee-keeping but this didn't matter at all as seemingly neither did the main character Kayleigh......!

I really enjoyed meeting Kayleigh and learning a little bit about her past and just how she comes to come across the advert looking for an experienced bee-keeper at Elderflower Grove and how she manages to convince her interviewer (funnily enough dressed as a bee!) that she is the perfect person. Her main reason is actually desperation, having had a bad experience with her ex boyfriend and him fleecing her with the ownership of her business.

Despite the run down state of the once grand Elderflower Grove, there is actually a thriving business on the grounds and also a squatter! Kayleigh and Carey and lovely characters to have as our main characters and I loved their spark which is covered perfectly in the storyline. Despite Carey having an issue with bees her helps Kayleigh when he realises that she doesn't quite have the experience she originally claimed and I loved reading and learning about how important bees are to our everyday lives - the author has done brilliant research in just what is entailed when looking after bees and I definitely learnt a lot from this.

At the heart of the story is the romance of the building and the previous inhabitants, who mysteriously disappeared following a fire at the house and I really enjoyed learning about them in an unexpected twist of the storyline. It was written beautifully and made me teary eyed at times.

A fabulous story that kept me hooked - really excited about what the author has install for us with her next book as I a firm fan!

I don’t know where to begin with this because there was so much I loved , the bee facts, the puns, the mystery, the twists I didn’t see coming, I just loved it all so much . The Beekeeper at Elderflower Grove was an absolutely delight to read, full of community, romance, friendship, throw in a little mystery and you have the perfect read I adored the mystery of the disappearance so much, you really do imagine all kinds of things, theories and I loved guessing as I read along, it was part of the joy in reading this, an added bonus.

Jaimie’s vivid descriptions of Elderflower Grove are so beautiful, so detailed, that you are drawn into this beautiful house as it goes from a dark and lonely house, to a character in its own right as we go through the story with Kayleigh, speaking of Kayleigh the romance with Carey is just so sweet, as sweet as honey ! Sorry, can’t resist as bee related pun. They are just so meet-cute, so funny, adorable, very much themselves and a unique but also classily bee-utiful slow burn. (Last one I swear)

This lovely, quirky, romantic and mysterious story has so much to enjoy, as well as romance and mystery you add a really fantastic community full of original and quirky characters and this book is like the perfect happy place for me. The writing as always with Jaimie Adman’s is wonderful, great pacing, long chapters but you hardly notice as you fly through them and don’t want to stop. A perfect summerbee, sorry summery read

Absolutely brilliant. This is the first time that I have read Jaimie Admans and it did not disappoint. I was a bit sceptical at first as it seemed that the story peaked early and then the twists and surprises started to be revealed. Stick with it, it is well worth it as once I got into it I couldn’t put it down. It was not your normal romance book, loved it.
