I love Lenora Bolt and her wild inventions and some really practical ones.
Lenora really is the future of children who should learn to dream big and never give up the things they love or the people who are important to them.
This great adventure filled with clues and a rescue mission is not one to be missed.

Leonora is a brilliantly clever character for young readers to aspire to. She is smart, determined and willing to give things a go, She is able to build things that help those around her and can use materials of all sorts to use in her builds. This is the 2nd in the series and this time, Leonora is hiding from her Uncle, who turned out to be not such a nice guy in book 1!
She will do anything to save her parents and this book is super readable, even if you haven’t read the first one. You can catch up on all you need to know.
Amazing illustrations he readers to imagine all that Leonora builds and gets up to, I love her “can-do” attitude and her determination not to let anything stop her. What a great series to inspire young readers to become inventors, scientists or mathematicians.
Leonora is a title we will always stock in the library as book one has proven to be so popular.

Following on from Leonora Bolt - Secret Inventor, Leonora is still inventing the most wonderful creations, her dastardly uncle is still free and her parents are still missing.
Leonora is now living on land in Snorebury and has just started school when her plan to keep her secret inventions hidden doesn't quite work out. She is supposed to be undercover and not creating a submarine nor should she have turned squirrels luminous.
Assisted by her friend Jack, Millie the cook, and Captain Spang - Leonora sets off on another adventure this time under the sea to stop her Uncle Luther from manipulating the population's emotions
Will Leo ever find her parents and stop evil Luther?

Brandt's second novel is a joy to read - laugh-out-loud escapades and will appeal to ages 8+

I hadn't read the first book in this series, even though it is on my TBR pile, but this is a brilliant chapter book series. The story instantly pulled me in and it was funny, pacy and highly entertaining with great stakes and a brilliant backstory. Leonora's inventing is hilarious and I loved her otter sidekick. The deep sea adventure was tense and the characters and humour make the story sing. I will definitely be recommending this to readers of my blog and look forward to more books to come. I will be using this as a reference when writing my own chapter books.

The second book in this series has just made us love Leonora that bit more. This book is full of great characters ,good and bad. It is great that the main character is a strong, intelligent mixed race girl , she is full of energy but still has the enthusiastic way of throwing herself at danger (without much considering the consequences ) like any other 9 year old. We all laughed and giggled at her exploits and the crazy scientists around her. Great family reading.
