Synopsis:
Lucy - an interior designer, business woman and a workaholic - reverts back to starting stage of her business when she makes a consecutive bad decisions that leads to losing many of her clients. As promised to her bestfriend, she attends her yoga classes everyday where she comes across never-on-time zack, her instructor. He seems to live a carefree life but there is a lot behind that in his life.

When Lucy's childhood's house comes into market for sale, she decides not to lose the one-in-lifetime oppurtunity. But little does she know that zack is in the race too.
What happens now? Who can afford the beautiful house with sunset-yellow-front-door?
Wait, are they both single too? Lucy is. For sure. Zack!? Never mind, Lucy hate him and his late ass.🤧🤧

Thoughts:
Plot has some potential to be a good romance. But this being a rom-com, romamce is very little.
This is completely from Lucy's POV. I would love to see it in Zack's POV too.
But this is fun to read. It is light and breezy with a little emotional touch.
I hate Katie. I generally love friend characters. Sometimes more than leads. But Katie, is just, nah...hate her. She is already responsible for making Lucy's life worse and she wants her always to make it up to her for some things that Lucy messed up. I understand she want Lucy to be better, but forcing it on her is something I hated. When you want her to be your friend, you need to assure that you be a good friend to her.
One more character I hated is Josh. I didn't expect him to be an a-h.
And yeah I read 'Kat' as cat for the whole book and only imagined a cat. I have to remind myself everytime that she is actually a dog😂😂

Rom-com lovers would love this book for sure.

sweet story that draws you in from the first page, found myself laughing out loud, this is my first book by this author, will be on the lookout for more.

The whole concept of living with a stranger and the enemies to lovers storyline sounded so intriguing to me but then both the main characters failed to keep my attention. Lucy especially was so rude and unlikeable, I just couldn't understand her point of view. She was always bombarding Zack with her judgemental comments. Never bothered to get to know him. She was totally self centred and she couldn't even be a good friend to her only best friend. She annoyed me till the very end and because of that I grew to like Zack. He was such a nice, sweet and caring person who didn't deserve to be constantly criticized. The only characters I liked were Zack & Katie everyone else felt overly dramatic and unreal. The plot had potential, the writing was good but I am disappointed with the way all the things turned out.

I love the whole idea living with a stranger 😂 original idea for a romcom ! I loved the banter between the main characters. The writing was good also. I would definitely recommend this book ! Thank you to NetGalley for this arc !

After a huge business setback, buying back her childhood home feels like the win that Lucy needs. Sadly, she can’t secure a mortgage on her own. Luckily for her, the other person bidding on the home is willing to team up to purchase it together… unluckily the other person is Zack, her yoga teacher/ enemy.

I loved the premise of this story! Enemies to lovers, living under the same roof. Unfortunately I really did not connect with Lucy as the main character. She was so unlikeable in the beginning and I didn’t feel that she had a strong redemption arc or demonstrated growth throughout the story.

Stuck with him was my first book by this author but certainly not my last!
Great rom-com with an original concept of two people buying a house together despite clashing in so many ways. Lucy makes many bad choices throughout the novel but is written as such a warm and redeeming character that although she could be extremely irritating as a character I didn't find her to be like that. I anticipated the twists throughout the story but I think that's part of what makes this genre such light easy reading. Would definitely recommend as a summer read and will be looking for future books by Danielle Owen Jones. If you're a fan of Sophie Kinsella I would highly recommend this book!

Slightly dissapointed by the writing as I was very intrigued by the premise of the book! It sadly did not keep my attention as well as I wished.

Lucy Clark owns her business of interior designing and is a total workaholic….to such an extent that it has jeopardised all her relationships. She does not have any friends and the only best friend she has, Katie is on the verge of breaking with her since Lucy does not have time for her even on her wedding day. On the other hand, Zack is the Uber cool meditation instructor who organises yoga & meditation in different Centres and lives life freely without worrying about tomorrow. Lucy and Zack bump into each other and then follows a unique arrangement where they are ‘stuck with each other’ due to the circumstances that surround them.

I found this book hilarious at many instances and liked the simple writing style. I feel majority of people nowadays are like Lucy who unknowingly put work before family and do not even realise what they are missing out on their way. It’s a nice cozy romance novel covering enemies to lover trope.

Many would find character of Lucy very irritating or unjustifiable but I liked her. I did find the book a bit long and a crisper version could do wonders. Also, the romance bit between Lucy and Zack could have been more explored. Barring this, loved reading this one and I would recommend it to people who like reading no smut feel good romances.

I did not finish this book. It started off extremely slow and even at 30% in, the main characters only had a handful of interactions with each other. I'm all for a slow-burn romance but the beginning of this book really dragged out. I thought that Lucy's actions at her friend's bachelorette party and wedding were pretty far out there, and honestly hard to believe. Then on top of that, her friend forgives her once she completes a few tasks? I just couldn't connect with this book at all. At 30% in, I haven't even reached the part where the synopsis starts.

Stuck with him by Danielle Owens-Jones is a romantic comedy that follows Lucy who’s entire life revolves around her interior-design business. Thank that is until she buys a house with a complete stranger. Rating: 2,5 stars.

I’m not really sure what to think about this one tbh. I went back and forth on my rating. The storyline is really interesting and I do enjoy Lucy as a character. She’s a strong and independent woman, a workaholic but I can understand why.

It’s written from one POV, Lucy’s. I wish that we got to hear more from Zack. He seems to have a interesting background that I would have liked to hear more about.

Lucy is in her head a lot, thinking up scenarios about what’s going on and getting worked up. Instead of just asking what’s going on, which is a little annoying to me.

Overall I feel like this really has potential and I’m sure that some people will love it. To me it unfortunately fell a little short.

This book wasn't my favorite and I would mainly blame that on Lucy's character. When I read a book it's very important for me to like the main character and unfortunately, I could not stand Lucy she made stupid decisions and overall seems like a very unpleasant person to be around. Due to me disliking Lucy I just couldn't get into the story and felt bored when I was reading.

This is the 2nd book I’ve read by this author and I just could not get into it. For me the writing was slow and the characters were not relatable to me it’s just not my style of read.

This is my first by the author and I liked the setting of this one, the concept of two strangers getting a house together was good.

The characters are important to me and I didn't connect with either of the MCs from this one.
Lucy was too much, how can she compare her family dynamics to Zacks. She is ready to work with a person threatening her and not see who genuinely cares. She is totally irritating, snapping always, jumping to conclusions and not giving a pennys thought to other person and their feelings unless she realises she has gone too far. She is way too judgemental for my liking.

As for Zack he was better than Lucy, mostly disappearing for days. He is a yoga teacher. The miscommunication between them was a major problem. The romance was too slow and this story talked about enemies to lovers and forced proximity that didn't happen anytime soon.

The writing was stronge and easy to read. The story had a smooth flow. The author definitely has more potential however this one missed the mark for me. There were few highlights with Lucy's grandmother Dotty that I absolutely liked that pushes me to rate more.

Overall it was an okay read.

Lucy’s world seems to be crashing down around her but she made so many bad decisions I just couldn’t feel sorry for her. Zach is the very zen yoga instructor who she can’t stand, but ends up buying a house with! Zach gave so little away and was too laid back. I’m sorry to say I did not finish this book.

Opposites attract, or so they say, anyway.

Stuck With Him made me laugh out loud. My husband asked me multiple times what was so funny. This was such a great rom com. Cute, funny, fun to read.

Lucy wasn’t a perfect. She was a workaholic and her design business came first. Zack arrives in her life and is her opposite in every way. They end up living together and Lucy has to re-evaluate everything.

I loved this story, Zack and Lucy’s relationship is one that I would love to read MORE about. I initially didn’t feel like they had a ton of chemistry, so I would have liked to see more of that, but they were just so cute together, you couldn’t help but cheer them on. They grew on each other and grew onto me too!

A great read if you love Hallmark movies, enemies-to-lovers, opposites attract, and forced proximity.

Stuck With Him is only her second book, but Danielle Owen-Jones seems to have figured out the key to success when writing Rom-Com novels. She writes like she has been doing this for many years.

In her latest book, we find a lovely but very driven woman named Lucy who has just purchased a house with a young man named Zack, who is her enemy! In fact, he is the anti-Lucy. He is zen, lives in the moment and teaches Yoga. These are just a few of the things that she does not like about Zack. How will living together work for the two of them when they are so different?

While this book started a little slowly for me, I was utterly engaged in the story and the characters by the end. This book will appeal to many readers looking for a light, comedic romance. It will make a great beach read. Pick a copy up before your holidays, and enjoy!

An absolutely page-turning, laugh-out-loud rom com, perfect for fans of The Hating Game and The Spanish Love Deception.

There are so many unlikeable characters in this book. And they’re not the ones the author meant. The main character, Lucy, is a workaholic, sure. But her entire business is ruined on her best friend’s hen trip, and it’s seen as a statement about Lucy’s misguided priorities and reason for her to apologize rather than reason for her to cut her toxic friends off. The love interest is messy and chaotic and sneaks a dog in the house even after he finds out that she’s allergic and it’s glossed over. He disappears for weeks and it’s just him being a free spirit and she should trust him more.

It’s not that Lucy is super likeable herself. She’s judgmental and untruthful. But it feels like literary gaslighting to suggest that she’s the main issue. I have no problem with her working less and starting a relationship. But there’s no chemistry between her and the love interest and he’s no big catch.

Clearly didn’t work for me at all.

I really enjoyed my time with Danielle Owen-Jones' debut Stone Broke Heiress when I read it earlier this year, so of course I couldn't resist the temptation when I was invited to read her newest story Stuck With Him. Especially since the blurb sounded like great fun with the two strangers (and seemingly complete opposites) buying a house together... I did become a bit more hesitant after seeing the recent spell of bad reviews, but I still had hopes it would be a success for me after a great first experience with her writing. Sadly, I did end up having mixed thoughts instead.

First of all, I do have to say that I still love the premise of Stuck With Him. Two strangers buying a house together sounds like madness, and the perfect backdrop for a romantic comedy; especially if the two characters are complete opposites and don't seem to have anything in common. I really liked the author's style of humor and writing in her debut, so I fully expected this story to be a great fit as well... Even more if you consider such a strong premise. Unfortunately this time around the story ended up being a bit of a miss for me and I do understand the mixed reviews now.

There were things that did work for me of course, including the premise I mentioned before and the setting. The writing itself was still easy on the eye and I found myself turning those pages quickly enough. The bare bones of the humor was still there, and there were some funny parts. BUT. I think my main issue with Stuck With Him is that the main character Lucy is condescending, rude, self-centered and simply despicable. I felt bad vibes as soon as I met her during the hen party in Spain (although her friends weren't exactly considerate towards her either), but after I saw how she was basically looking down on everybody and how she treated Zack simply for being different than herself? Yuck. She basically ruined the whole story for me, although I never completely warmed up to Zack either (probably because I was too busy feeling sorry for him).

The romance itself didn't feel credible to me; especially because the switch was too sudden and I never believed in their connection in the first place. Add the love triangle and the unnecessary tension and the romance most definitely didn't do this story any favors for me. This is mainly Lucy's fault of course, but then again I already mentioned just how much I disliked her character in general. The dog Kat brought some relief (although I was seriously annoyed by the allergy angle and how it was developed)... But it wasn't enough to save the story.

All in all Stuck With Him wasn't exactly a winner for me, which was mostly due to the main character and less than credible romance and love triangle. The writing style and humor itself were still solid enough to make me want to try her next story though.
