Books like this make me realise again why I love reading, totally enjoyable with no hassles attached, loved it. A warm, funny, uplifting writer to celebrate. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really, really liked this book! It hooked me from the first chapter and kept me hooked the entire time! Loved the banter!

From the plot it seemed the classic rom-com light and fun, but as soon as it started I couldn't get in tune with the characters or with the writing style ... I wanted to continue reading to see how it ended, and after having finished the book I can say that I did not like it; I recognize that it is a good book but I have not been able to get in tune with the story!
However, I suggest you give it a chance because you might like it and entertain you, but it didn't make me feel anything.

I was in the mood for a rom-com and Stuck with Him didn't disappoint. This is my first book by Danielle Owen-Jones, and I hope it won't be my last.

They say opposites attract and that's definitely the case for Lucy and Zack!
In the beginning I wasn't sure of Lucy because of how she was acting but I slowly came to love personality! This enemies to lovers book had so much emotion and the end left me with the biggest smile! I'm just extremely happy for Lucy that she was able to realize what was wrong and Zack was able to help her see the world for what it is at a slower pace!

I think its fair to say that when you love a debut as much as I loved Danielle's, you open the second book with a slight nervousness. I soon realised that I had absolutely no reason to be, as I settled into this immediately and got fully immersed into this read,

Yet again, I read this in one sitting and was itching to see Zack and Lucy's story unfold. I liked that they both had secrets that were tricky to uncover, and getting to know them better was delightful to read. I also liked the yoga and meditation side of it as I am new to learning these myself.

Lucy is a superb character. She lives for her work and REALLY doesn't switch off. I have to say, as someone who lives with their phone in their hand, this made me stop and think too.

A truly splendid second book, and I cannot wait to see what this author does next.

It's always interesting when a main character appears to grow through the book, yet in the final act will revert back to their old ways. You know, basically like how actual humans do.

STUCK WITH HIM's main character, Lucy, was at times frustrating when I could see her regressing in her character growth. As was her nemesis-turned-love interest yoga teacher-turned-housemate, Zack.

Yet, I still enjoyed STUCK WITH HIM's overall plot and the chemistry between Lucy and Zack.

Oh, that darn Lucy and her perfectionist ways really didn't have the room in her life for overly laid-back Zack. When both team up to buy Lucy's beloved grandmother's old house the sparks of anger and sizzling heat fly.

I liked the way Lucy and Zack helped each other grow even though they were complete opposites.

I had a couple of issues with the book: I REALLY did not like Lucy's BFF. She wasn't a frenemy, exactly, but I would not call her a good BFF. Nope.

It also seemed a lot of time was wasted by a couple of misunderstandings. If Lucy had only asked Zack certain things about his life rather than making assumptions, then a lot of conflict would have been avoided. Then again, the misunderstanding was part of the plot.

If you like slow burn closed-door romances with British humor, this is a good one.

“Stuck With Him” by Danielle Owen-Jones takes a standard trope (not really liking each other but eventually move onto something more) but puts an interesting twist on it - what happens when the home you’ve pined for is just out of your reach, but a proposal of purchasing the house together - and being both co-owners and housemates - sounds like a good idea? I liked the twist that Ms. Owen-Jones had as it seemed like opposites really did attract in this book. I had two issues with this book, though. As my partner would say “Lucy needs new friends” - what happened at the hen do I found crazy (even factoring in lots of alcohol) and the part with the pool and computer - no - Lucy, you need new friends. To me it wan’t funny and it wasn’t sending a reality check - it was mean girl times 100. As for the “twist” with the CEO - there had to be conflict, there was, but because so little time was spent on the CEO, for me it was more like a little speed bump in the story - not a twist (plus, no real character development). I cannot say that I laughed out loud, as the publisher’s blurb says, but for a light fluffy read - and miscommunication abounding - it was a fine book. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4.
