DNF - I’ve tried to get into the book several times but I’m not connecting with the characters or story.

This one didn't hit the mark for me.
It was a cute romance, but I really needed more from this book.

Thanks to Netgalley for this ARC.

I was so pleasantly surprised by this book! It's the perfect rom-com kind of pick me up we all so often need. It was the most adorable enemies-to-lovers I've read in a long time.

Zack is such a sweetheart, so adorable and nothing like the alpha males I've been reading about for the past 2 plus years. It was actually a wonderful break! Lucy reminds me of myself, always thinking about a million things and scared to just be. I really enjoyed their relationship and felt all warm and fuzzy by the end of this book!

3 stars!

Unfortunately this book just did not have the vibes that I wanted. It was just a run in the mill romance book and I wanted more!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I had high hopes for 'Stuck With Him' by Danielle Owen-Jones. The synopsis had me hitting the request button within a blink of an eye. A promise of hate at first sight? Living with the enemy? I was ready to eat out of the palm of Danielle's hand.

I'm disappointed to say that I struggled to get into this book from the get-go. I was annoyed by Lucy immediately, including the workaholic personality alongside the honestly shitty friends (sending out a mass email saying all the things to clients that Lucy would never actually say out loud? Asshole moves). If only some finesse had been put into these characters!

I was unable to finish this book, losing interest quite quickly. Somewhere the execution of this sweet, enemies to lovers rom-com was lost. I am still reeling from it.

This was a tough one... I really liked the idea of this book, there were some really funny parts though, I am always a sucker for a British rom com, and usually love an enemies to lovers concept, but I found Lucy so hard to like.

Two strangers, Lucy and Zack, buy a house together, but their differing personalities cause conflicts. Lucy is a workaholic who damages her relationships and is initially rude to Zack, who is more relaxed and open-minded. Despite the enemies-to-lovers setup and the concept of living with a stranger being interesting, the lack of romantic tension and miscommunication between Lucy and Zack made it difficult to enjoy the book. The main characters, particularly Lucy, were unlikable and self-centered. The only likable characters were Zack and Katie. The plot had potential, but the character's drama and unrealistic behavior made it a disappointing read.
I do see the potential for this author, thought. I think there will be better books in the future.

It was too slow for me so I struggled a lot to get into the story. The beginning of this book was too long to start with, It would just have been easer if it started right after Lucy's best friends wedding (after all the shenanigans' that happened before and at the wedding). Maybe I just didn't care about the backstory that much.

I believe the start of this book just made me lose interest about the story in the first place. So, unfortunately, I DNF'ed it. Don't get me wrong the premise sounds interesting, so maybe I'm just wrong. Lucy as a character felt really entertaining and fun at times, but she was too MUCH for me. Too workaholic, making the wrong choices and rude for no logical reason. Maybe someday I will try to read it again.

Big thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

The concept of the book was intriging when I 1st came across this book, but something along the way I didnt like it too much. Lucy had such a high standars and super workaholic that makes you re think things at life. We all know that works are alway competitive but taking a break its a necesity.

I was really excited to get in to this one because of the synopsis. And the cute cover was the bonus. But unfortunately it wasn’t my favorite. The fmc wasn’t my favorite either. I totally understand it being realistic but what she did was unforgivable in my eyes. There are limits to these things you can do for work at an important event like this. Anyway the relationship portion wasn’t bad, there was chemistry for sure. Overall it was a mediocre read that could’ve been better cause it had the potential. Hopefully she writes something with a better character arc cause storytelling was really good. You can check it out if you have time for it. 3/5 stars

Cute book, I really like the characters and their story arcs within this book. It is a classic rom com and perfect for if you want a book like that.

This was such a perfect romcom read with quite a slow-burn romance. I loved the chemistry between the main characters, also I quite liked how relatable and entertaining they were. Along, with that I really loved the ending!!

I liked the tension throughout the book, it had a great premise and was a fun read! I struggled while reading, but only because I didn’t feel any personal connection with the characters.

I absolutley loved Stuck With Him, a witty enemies to lovers with forced proximity and a slow burn romance.
Thi swas my first Danielle Owen Jones book, and I was pleasantly surprised! I'm always a bit sceptical of British Rromcoms but this one was so good I forgot that it was set in miserable England. It made me want to go hiking in the Peak District and appreciate nature.
Anyways, the romance was so fun, the tension was really well built up and this was overall a really quick fun read with the right amount of spice!

Stuck with Him is a cute and tame romcom about two characters in close proximity and a bit of an enemies to lovers type story. For me, it fell flat. The characters werent the most likeable and I just did not get a lot of chemistry between the two of them. It had a nice ending but it just was not my fave romance of the year.

This book is okay. It was an easy quick read and had a HEA. Definitely a good choice if you're looking for a book that is light and not too complicated. The concept of the love story is cute.
The writing style feels like it is aimed in between YA and New Adult even though the characters were dealing with issues that don't really relate to that age demographic. The topics that they do talk about are relatable and very interesting. Like being career focused and finding what is really important in life, strained family relationships, the work that it takes to maintain friendship in adulthood.
However, although the topics were interesting the way that the author delved into these topics were very superficial. I felt like the majority of the characters growth was told to me instead of shown.
Also, I really didn't like the majority of the characters. They all seemed 2 Dimensional and weren't that likable. Lucy was very judgmental and rude. I didn't find her likable or relatable. And, one of my biggest issues is that the 'love' part of the story went from nothing to a one sided crush to madly in love. It didn't feel fleshed out and the ending felt very rushed. I didn't believe in the characters lover for each other. There wasn't really any chemistry between them. The character growth was 0 to a complete 180 for both Lucy and Zach. They didn't change at all until the very end when love won it all. It just felt forced and uncharacteristic.

I can see how some people might love this book but I wasn't for me.

What the heck did I just read??

I wish I did like this, but unfortunately, it was a dnf for me. From the start, I truly couldn't stand any of the characters and everything went downhill from there. This was advertised as a "enemies to lovers" book, but truly, it's just the female main character being insufferable and mean to the male main character for no good reason.
