I was struggling with this one from the first chapter. I disliked the MC Lucy so much, she was really disrespectful and rude, like her behavior at her friend's wedding. I couldn't find anything likable about her, the "bride" or the "friends". I didn't even reached the part where we meet the MMC cause I just couldn't keep going.

Thank you so much NetGalley and Bookouture for the ARC.

I hate saying this about books but I honestly didn't care much for this one. I thought the main character Lucy was just flat-out rude and disrespectful to those she "cared" about. She was a total workaholic even to the point of it interfering with her friend's wedding day. I just couldn't connect with any of the characters and the plot just fell short in so many ways. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced reader copy.

I really enjoyed this book so much and it was hilarious. It was very realistic to me as I am very easily stressed out about things and my husband is the most chill and laid back person. However this was way more entertaining than my life lol.

So for complicated and highly improbably reasons Lucy and Zack buy a house together. Both of them want it, she’s not got the money and he’s not got the stability but together they convince the poor unsuspecting bank to give them mortgage and they are stuck together. Get it. Yeah. Lucy is an uptight rule maker, Zack is a laid back yogi who takes nothing seriously or does he? He’s also super hot. Poor Lucy. Anyway was all pretty light, it’s not complicated and fairly entertaining. We don’t go very deep in to Zack’s situation even though there’s enough there that could have been dug into. There’s also magic natural dog allergy cures that are not gone into particularly either. It’s all a bit glancing and sketchy but fun enough.

I struggled with this book. The tropes and premise were intriguing but the execution wasn't there for me! I could not connect with the characters, I didn't find them likable except for Zack, Lucy was annoying and immature. The miscommunication was infuriating as well. Overall, it wasn't that bad of a book but i don't think i would recommend it. 2/5

I used to love enemies-to-lovers books and then I read a lot of them that weren't as good as they could be so I didn't enjoy them as much. I did like this book though and it brought me out a book slump so I'm happy.

I tried, god I really really tried but the heroine is a lost cause. I disliked her so much and loathed her antics. Like, how can someone be this immature? The whole concept of living with a stranger, first of all that's a HUGE no from me, then there's the enemies to lovers storyline which sounded so intriguing to me, however, turns out, both the main characters failed to keep my attention and aren't exactly likable in my books. Lucy especially. My goodness I wanted to smack her up the side of the head a minimum of 10 times. I just couldn't understand her point of view and her decision making and how judgmental she was. Anyway, the plot did have some potential, the writing was good, but I am disappointed with the way all the things turned out, plus, I really, really, REALLY hated Lucy. If she were a bit more tolerable to me, the book may have been a bit better received by me. All in all, I'm excited to check out what Owen-Jones releases next, as I'd love to experience her writing again.

Stuck With Him is a adorable romcom that encompasses enemies to lovers AND forced proximity tropes seamlessly. I enjoyed Owen-Jones' writing style but I wish there has been more development of our side characters. We only know surface information about her "best friend", Josh & Molly which is limiting to the overall build of the storyline. As a love story, Zack & Lucy fell a bit flat for me. I wanted to see more love or at least the use of the word "love" between characters. Stuck With Him could have used a few more chapters to really give the reader a happy ending worth reading.
Overall, 2.5/5.
Thank you so much to NetGalley & Bookouture for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

3.5 stars

I really liked the premise of this book and how the story was paced however I had some issues with some topics that were touch by the author. Overall it was a quick read and the matching between the main characters was so sweet.

I received an e-arc in exchange of my honest review. Thanks NetGalley

The story caught my attention from the beginning and held it all the way through. This is an entertaining enemies to lovers romantic comedy and I enjoyed every minute of it. The characters were wonderful and felt so relatable. The storyline had a nice smooth flow and the romance was wonderful and there were plenty of humorous moments that had me laughing out loud or just generally left me with a smile on my face.
Lucy sets very high standards for herself and when she meets her yoga instructor Zack, she can't stand him because he has a totally laid back attitude, the complete opposite of her. It's hate at first sight, and when he puts in a bid for her childhood home, she is having none of it and determined to get it for herself. Well Zack won't back down, but he does have an alternate solution, they buy the house together. Lucy agrees, but has a plan of her own to wear him down so she ultimately ends up with the house for herself.
The story was delightfully cute and enjoyable. These two opposites were completely drawn to each other and you could definitely feel the sizzling chemistry between them. The characters were interesting with realistic qualities that gave them an authentic personality and were easily relatable and I enjoyed the fun and witty banter between the two. If you're looking for a fun and light read, then you definitely will want to pick this one up.
I received a complimentary copy from Bookouture via Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

oh geez, i wanted to like this book. I've heard great thing about it, but it did not do it for me. it fell so flat and i'm kinda sad about it but also, like, every book doesn't work for every person, so. thanks netgalley for the e-arc!

I quite enjoyed this but I would’ve liked to have learnt more about the main characters, they were a bit flat. But a fluffy non effort required kind of book, perfect for a wet weekend!

I wish we had discovered a little more about Lucy and Zack, what we did see of them made them rather one dimensional.

I also found the premise of buying a flat with a total stranger, not just moving in but investing in a flat, completely bonkers.

Listen. Forced Proximity? Chef's Kiss. Enemies to Lovers? Chef's Kiss. And this is a two in one. I ENJOYED. This was so snarky and funny and sweet, I rushed through this lovely story in one sitting. Highly, highly recommend.

My favourite quotes:
~ Nothing in life was perfect, but that didn’t make it any less good or worthy
~ You’re a girl after my own heart
Thank you @netgallery, for the arc💗
Stuck with him is a light hearted easy read Where Lucy Clark buys a house with her enemy. You heard that right Mr infuriatingly laid back hot yoga teacher was a pain in her ass but she had no other option but to buy her old childhood home with him as their competition to buy the house first came to an end when they learned that neither of them can afford it individually and they had to make the best out of the situation. When she learns that Zack had a habit of eating weird healthy food and wearing basically no sleepwear she’s far too gone to come back🤭
i love some of the tropes in this book to bits- enemies to lovers and forced proximity.
I loved how Lucy was a workaholic and she prioritised her work and herself that shows that she is determined and was a realistic character that i adore💗
i hated how her best friend treated her but that’s bedside the point
Zack was hilarious like his personality and vibe is unmatched and i love how is such a simple guy also love love love his dog. Also the amount of support he has for Lucy was so sweet like literally love a supportive S.O🫂💗
Also i loved all the domestic scenes and their chemistry so much like them attempting to cook, and going on hikes and stuff literally melted my heart💗

Rating-⭐️⭐️⭐️.5/5

This book was not good.

Lucy character was so annoying, Zack was meeeh and Katie would probably get the award for most shitty friend...

Everything was just meh and I just didn't care at all.

while i understand being a workaholic, i don't believe being as rude as lucy, or as terrible of a friend as she, is the way to go. kudos to her for attempting to work on it but being so presumptuous (but so wrong) about zack all the time was a bit much. this might just be because miscommunication is my least favourite trope but girl how are you gonna think he's married if he's roommates with you? and don't get me started on the whole wedding fiasco.

i love a forced-proximity situation as much as the next person but it only works, like most romances, if the characters are both likeable and i just couldn't like lucy at all and therefore couldn't enjoy the (little) chemistry they had.

HOWEVER...i'm definitely going to read more from the author because i genuinely think the main and only reason i didn't like the book was lucy, so i'll be reading 'stone broke heiress' next. i like her writing a lot and the banter was great so i'd love to read likeable characters from her!

Lucy is an interesting character. She has high standards yet takes a phone call during her best friend's wedding. A call she could have returned later. Then thinks she can drive him away with her impossible lists of rules. Naturally, there will be some miscommunication along the way to stir the pot.
I knew this was going to be a bumpy journey. Lucy is willing to do whatever it takes to get her childhood home back and antics ensue. Zack takes it in stride which further adds heat to the fire. These two are an odd couple and as they say, opposites attract. There is tension, humor, and antics.
The romance in this book was more of a slow burn as the two characters circle each other and get to know each other. I enjoy witty banter in books and this one had it. I also enjoyed watching Lucy come to the realization that work is not more important than her personal life.
The whole concept of living with a stranger and the enemies to lovers storyline sounded so intriguing to me but then both the main characters failed to keep my attention. The only characters I liked were Zack & Katie everyone else felt overly dramatic and unreal. The plot had potential, the writing was good but I am disappointed with the way all the things turned out.
