2.5 stars that I rounded up to 3. Love an enemies-to-lovers story, but this has other issues because they weren’t so much enemies as they were strangers who had seen each other like four times and hadn’t gotten along before the main plot device came into play.

Books are typically an escape for me, and I’m good at letting my mind go even if there’s things I don’t find realistic or believable and I don’t know if it’s cause I bought a house last year, but I found I couldn’t get over Lucy arranging to buy a house with some guy she barely knew, and what she knew of him was that he was frequently late for things. Between that and the awful choices Lucy and her so-called friends had bad that lead to almost ruining her business, I was just full of “wtf” for this book.

I did love how much Lucy loved the house she grew up in though, and her relationship with her grandma.

The premise of Stuck With Him is a great one; an enemies to lovers book with forced proximity as the two buy a house together due to unforeseen circumstances. However, when I read this i struggled to connect with the characters.

To put it plainly, Lucy is a workaholic who will do anything she can to ensure her business is a success, even if it ruins her relationships in the process. Zack is the opposite; a laid back Yoga instructor who doesn't seem to have a care in the world.

I wasn't a fan of Lucy's relationship with her best friend; while I understand that nobody is perfect, neither character really tried to understand their friends perspective and their relationship continually broke down with neither appearing to make much effort in the way of compromising or supporting one another.

Lucy and Zack's relationship did grow on me by the end, but I did struggle for a large part of the book to find either of them likeable; both felt as though they were missing some intrinsic part of their character that would have made them so much more endearing.

That being said however, I did really enjoy the significance of the house, and the concept of those two characters in particular making such a commitment as to buy a house was amusing.

If you're looking for a low stress, quick forced proximity book you should give this a try.

I thought I would DNF because the first 30% didn’t really get my attention but then it got better. I’m not really into romance at the moment (mood reader hello) but it was a cute book.

Lucy just bought a house with her worst enemy. She hated Zack from the moment she laid eyes on him. But she desperately wants to buy her childhood home, so when he puts in an offer that she can't afford, he offers they buy it together. What could go wrong?
This forced-proximity, enemies-to-lovers romance is clean (no spice), with a good premise. I couldn't relate to the characters, but I loved the witty banter.

Enjoyable and entertaining read with some really good and hilarious moments. Lucy finds herself sharing a home with her yoga instructor whom she despises. This book reminded me of The Hating Game with the friends to enemies trope but I didn’t love it as much. I probably wouldn’t recommend it unless you needed a quick beach read.

So at about 16% of the book I'd found myself cringing and wondering, should I keep going? I detest the main characters selfishness and competitiveness. It’s one thing to have motivations and drive, but an entire other world when you destroy your life long friendships to pursue your own achievements. She was too selfish for me to have continued to the end of the book to see her character grow. I really liked the premise of the book but couldn't stick it out and added it to my DNF list.

I really enjoyed this sweet read. It was funny and light-hearted. Another new author for me always a winner. I will certainly be looking out for more by her in the future. My thanks to Netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.

I was unfortunately not able to finish this book. While it had a promising premise, it failed to deliver. The main character was obnoxious and was not likeable and while her relationship with the main love interest did spark some interest, I found the premise of living together with someone you hate to be a bit unbelievable.

I enjoyed the writing and the cover was beautiful and while I DNF'd this book, I will be picking up the author's next novel.

I ended up DNFing half way through. The concept of the book seemed really interesting but the execution was lost.

I related to Lucy being a workaholic but it seemed like that's all she cared about. I too am a workaholic but make time to do things outside work. I honestly felt sorry for how Lucy was being treated by her friends at the start of the book but tbh her and her friends are just as bad as each other. If you want your friend to stop working put her laptop away safely not within reach when you all are drunk and telling her what she should type to her clients. But then Lucy is no angel for taking a phone call instead of walking down the aisle when she is a bridesmaid! Honestly her and Katie's relationship is unrealistic. How is it Katie can be mad at you but you can't be mad at all your friends for destroying your business in a second?!

Zack was fine and their enemies to lovers was just boring cause I mean you're not an enemy when all you do is judge them for what they do as a profession.

The tone of both characters was the same even though they are 2 different people with different personalities and I just didn't feel any chemistry.

Overall I may revisit and reread one day but I'll see.

Slow-burn, enemies to lovers, opposites attract type of romance. Lucy was completely unlikeable - crazy workaholic and almost ruining her best friends wedding - but trying to mend her ways by attending a yoga class. She meets the new yoga instructor and instantly dislikes him. Then it’s because of Zack that Lucy gets her dream of moving back into her childhood home.

There is so much miscommunication between Lucy and Zack. She was determined to hate Zack no matter what. Although I loved the banter between the two, I didn’t really feel like there was a lot of build up to their relationship. This one wasn’t for me, but would be a great read for someone who doesn’t like a steamy romance.

Without giving anything away - I LOVED Lucy’s mysterious Thursday plans! Those scenes in this story were very well written.

This is my second book by Danielle and I do thoroughly enjoy her writing style!

This book includes some of my favourite tropes: Enemies to lovers, forced proximity, and opposites attract.

I do wish there we were able to learn more about the characters past as I believe this really could have made this story! However, if you are looking for a fun, light-hearted and easy read then I would definitely recommend you read this!!💛

There is one thing that is above all other things in the world of romance novels, and that is chemistry. It is absolutely needed and unfortunately it is nowhere to be found in this book. This fell square in the "meh" category for me.

The main characters Lucy and Zack are complete opposites. Lucy loves work and she is passionate about her interior design business. To take her mind off her business she starts yoga classes where she meets Zach and they instantly clash.
I enjoyed this book but the thing i hate the most in romance books is when two characters who clearly like each other don't communicate and it just gets irritating after a while and this book had a lot of this unfortunately. Lucy jumped to crazy conclusions all of the time which was petty and annoying. I did enjoy this book however as the characters made up for the annoying bits.

The whole zen-itude thing is not my thing. This story was just not for me.

I enjoyed this book.

The story was entertaining, the characters were fun, and although it follows a well-known trope, it had some differences that made the story stand out a little. There were some things that I didn't understand the point of (secret Thursday evenings), but overall it was a fun read.

There were some friendship themes that I enjoyed as well.

I was quite excited to read this book, I mean, forced proximity, opposites attract, miscommunication? They're delightful tropes, absolutely fantastic, but unfortunately this book fell flat.
I did enjoy the two main characters, though I felt more work should have been done to make them a wee bit more compatible, I feel that even at the end they didn't really seem like they worked together. The writing was fun, and the premise was really great and I really think the book had so much potential. The miscommunication was well written, and I enjoyed how obvious it was to us that the hero was smitten, while the heroine was oblivious. It felt quite genuine, though maybe stretched at times.
I think my main issue was the fact that there just weren't enough characters. The two protagonists rarely engaged with anyone, and they were just too isolated. I'd like to have seen more interactions with people around them, just anything to flesh out the world a little bit.
Despite this, I did enjoy her writing, and I do want to see what she does next because she's got great ideas and a great premise!

In Stuck With Him, we meet Lucy - her business has fallen apart, her best friend isn’t too happy with her, and her childhood home is up for sale but just out of her reach. So when Zack, her incredibly annoying yoga teacher, suggests they buy it together, Lucy makes a jump and all kinds of chaos ensue…

If you love a slow burn enemies-to-lovers read, Stuck With Him will tick all your boxes - I genuinely wasn’t sure if Lucy and Zack would make their unusual house situation work, and I was definitely with Lucy in her hatred at the early stages of the book!

I love to be surprised when a romance novel goes a little deeper than I expected, and Stuck with Him also definitely gave me that - Lucy’s dedication to her job, and other people’s manipulation of that - really stood out to me as a plot line (and I related to it a lot…)

This was another read that is a great one for summer and I really recommend picking up for your next holiday!

Lucy a workaholic with impossibly high standards for herself finds Zach, her new yoga instructor to be insufferable and far too laid back. to make things worse when she goes to put an offer on her childhood home he has also put an offer in, but she is determined to get the house for herself. However Zach had a different idea, they purchase the house together, and with the plan to drive him out lucy hesitantly agrees.

Although at the beginning I found lucy to be an annoying character, as the book went on I came to like her and how determined she is in all that she does. I loved Zach and how relaxed and down-to-earth he was. The slow-burn romance was perfection (although I wish we got to see more of it) and there were parts that had me laughing out loud.

Stuck With Him by Danielle Owen-Jones is a story of a success hungry women trying to find her way through the trials of business, friendship and relationships. I loved the premise of the story, Lucy working towards a goal of buying her childhood home was so endearing and heartwarming but unfortunately I had a hard time connecting with the story in other ways. I found Lucy to be very prickly and too inflexible. While this was notably how her character was supposed to be, she was just too much this way and it rubbed me the wrong way. Her nemesis turned love interest Zack was very hippy and her polar opposite. Their distaste for each other made sense and was written in a way of understanding but then it was an instant turn around to attraction and romance. I didn’t feel any lead up or reasoning. I fee there could have been so much more done with this story but it fell flat for me unfortunately.
